My OH knows the owners of a very reputable upmarket dog food company so I know what goes into it. I feed my dog tinned food along with a mixed fresh food & home cooked diet. My personal belief is that moderation in everything is good. I don't think that a dog fed purely on tinned food can be the healthiest he can be, but if I only had the time and choice of tinned food, I would mix it up and feed different brands rather than one personal favourite because I personally perceived it to be ideal. I would also mix it up with dry food and bones.

I would have said kelpie x :D how ridiculous. What a gorgeous looking dog. There are soooo many dogs I would love to have if I could keep them all and that is definately one of them. Love the photos You are so understanding and kind for taking in a strange dog.

That is so true and life will be grand with just three legs because Tyson is loved. A dogs life as grand as long as he is loved no matter how many legs he has. I would ensure that these dogs could not do this again though.

I know exactly what you mean iltby. When I am in a bad or sad mood I take my dog for a walk. I always catch myself smiling at his antics. They certainly are a joy and I can see why they say that animals have healing qualities.

Your short story has brought a tear to my eye. The love you can have for children is a beautiful thing, but so is the love for your pets. You are right to be grateful and you should be proud that you appreciate the love you have around you no matter where it comes from. Many people take love for granted

I work full time and my kids are now teens. I get home from work at about 6pm most nights and live a quiet normal happy married life, but when I get home there is only one member of my family that is so overjoyed to see me he is beside himself from the moment my car pulls into the driveway and that of course is my lovely Jacko. He makes me feel so special and loved and I know he will until the day he goes to rainbow bridge. I must be feeling a bit emotional tonight, my kids are growing up and don't come running to me anymore to tell me stories about their day the way they used to. It is normal I know, but our dogs are such loving beautifully natured creatures who carry these stories with them their entire life - why would anyone be without one or give them up the way they do? Just wanted to share

Same here. My boy is extremely growly when he plays and when you stop playing with him he lets out a bark to let you know he wants to play more

The only reason people are still replying is in the hope of providing some education, and maybe countering the very pro BSL sentiments expressed here, for the sake of those reading who do not post - and for the sake of the dogs, of course. Jed I understand completely that many are fighting for the breed and rightly so, but to reply to some of those comments is giving those ridiculous comments substance and that poster clearly has no substance, knowledge or understanding. You know that and we know that but Joe Public that comes across the comments may well not. Yes we do know that, but instead of replying to this garbage why not start a positive new thread showing how fantastic the breed can be and let this ridiculous thread die.
