  1. yeah the 'go past Wanneroo whoop whoop' one is on the corner of Joondalup Drive & Wanneroo Roads. I'm pretty sure the Innaloo butcher is open Saturday all day from memory.
  2. If this is the butcher located with the IGA, I used to go there when I lived out that way, they were great.... now I go to Drovers in whoop whoop somewhere past Wanneroo (even for me it's a drive, but it's cheap) where chicken frames are $1kg amoung other things (they have a great offcut/offal range).
  3. tell me about it... but it just is the way it is over here. You wont find many people using a check chain around either. Let us know how you go with the e-collar.
  4. I might come down for a look-see. Ollie is still too young and silly at this stage, but I'd like to know what goes on. We aren't members of K9 at the moment, would we still be able to come down to watch?
  5. It's probably ok... especially if your fish are all really healthy and doing well. Fish die off pretty quick in unhealthy water.
  6. There isn't anyone in Perth that I know of... like the others suggested, try K9Force
  7. There are other games you could play with him... how about teaching him to play hide & seek? or scent games? or excite him enough that he'll play tuggie or something .... I'm sure others will come along with suggestions too.
  8. I thought it was the green tomatoes and the leaves that are problematic for dogs?
  9. I don't really know the answer to this, someone willc ome along soon that will I'm sure. Chelsea eats proplan as roughly about 80% of her diet and she's doing fabulous to the balance must be right. The other 20% is mostly chicken carcasses and leftovers.
  10. I'm using the Sensitive Stomach & Skin one with Chelsea - I started her on it a fortnight before I boarded her last time as this is what the kennels used and I did want any problems with a new food whilst I was away (Chelsea can be really sensitive to diet changes); well, she did so well on it that I've kept her on it. It really suits her and her coat is mirror type shiny! I must say though that for us; the amounts on the side of the packet are far too much (I think many brands are like this) - Chelsea got a bit porky on the recommended ration, so I cut her back and this has been perfect.
  11. The steel one is a Prong (or "pinch") Collar... the fabric one is just one style of martingale collar (some martingales have chain loops, not fabric)
  12. Sorry if it's been asked before (I couldn't find the answer in a search) but how long is Titre testing 'good' for? ie, does a dog need this done yearly or less often? or is it a case of once the levels suggest immunity, there would be no need to retest? If a boarding kennel was to accept a dog that had Titre testing done, how old can the test results be before they would request the dogs be done again?
  13. I think this sounds fairly reasonable.... we all know that some breeds mature a bit earlier than this, and some later - but as a general guide, this seems like a good guideline to me.
  14. it's 12 months today since Cougar left us.... I still miss him terribly, he'll forever be in my heart. RIP my beautiful boy
  15. I too was going to suggest an allergy... most likely grass - it's pretty common this time of year.
  16. I've sent an e-mail too... quite happy to go as a spectator if 'working' places are filled. Be interesting to see Gina's POV....
  17. You're doing a great job with Ruby.... she is working really well from what I saw yesterday!
  18. I bathe ours here when needed, usually monthly - mostly because they've rolled in something stinky. Mud just brushes out off my two when dry due to their lovely short coats, so they really don't need washing that often. And they don't get a doggy smell. I use Aloveen on my two, brilliant stuff and leaves a really long lasting scent on the coat. My previous dog (a X breed with a longish double coat) got washed weekly-fortnightly simply because I felt he required it. He always had a stunning glossy coat and never any skin problems.
  19. Much better to do this than to not care at all I reckon I think it is a stye or maybe some small insect bite?? Doesn't look all that serious - as per PP, a gentle bathe in salty water might help, otherwise just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't swell or anything like that.
  20. nup, not a 'badd owner' at all. Use the chicken breast as training treats... they love it!
  21. I hear ya, that is my problem here with one of my labs. Wish I could find a training partner, might give me more motivation and give me an outside POV of what I'm doing wrong I'm NOR Perth and could really use a training partner when training my GSP! PM me if interested. I'd love to trial a Groenendael - it's also a breed I have on my 'wish list' later on down the track
  22. Ollie (7month GSP pup) Supercoat Puppy - Not very economical to feed and too much dry food IMO per day, massive amoutns of poo (probably fromt he sheer bulk/volume he needed to consume) Advance Large Breed Puppy - We've been pretty happy with this, poos could be a big firmer hence why we are about to try him on Royal Canin Maxi Junior as I've heard good thing about this food. Chelsea (5 year GSP) Supercoat Adult/Adult Large Breed/Sensitive - All of these made for dinosaur sized poo, and she got quite a flaky dry coat Optimum - Not too bad, though still got skin flakies on it to some degree Woofbix / You'll Love Coles - Not too bad for the price, good when on a tight budget for a little while Advance Adult - Skin Flakies, Poos a bit soft Pro Plan Sensitive (with Salmon) - Brilliant! She has a lovely lovely coat/skin on this, small poos, only downside is she gains weight easily on this food! We've finally found a food that suits her. ETA: Both dogs are fed dry food with meaty bones/eggs/yoghurt/wet cat food/sardines/leftovers etc as well
