  1. hey there, thought id share some pics of different dogs i've groomed in the past. Feel free to comment... BEFORE: AFTER: BEFORE: AFTER: BEFORE: AFTER: HANDSTRIP:
  2. He should be perfectly fine...normally its huge amounts that do the damage...
  3. There's a bunch of those on Ebay. Very cool. That is awesome. My OH has a 5DMk2... might have to see if I can track one down for him. where r they on ebay? can you please post the links? i have a friend that would LOVE these
  4. haha yummm!! lucky u!! lol good luck...remember, it will take time.
  5. about 1/4 - 1/2 a teaspoon daily. tom PASTE...
  6. give her a little bit of tomato paste NOT TOMATO SAUCE, paste, on a daily basis, rather than going out and spending a fortune on products that may or may not work. It cute out the acidity in the tears/saliva so it wont leave that browny resdue. I tell this to any of my grooming clients who want to know how to get rid of it, and all of them have had huge success! She should just lick it straight off your finger or you can just add it to her food. you dont need much, about 1/4-1/2 a teaspoon. Make sure you do it daily though, or it wont work as well and will take longer. Even doing it daily it does take a couple of weeks to a month to work. good luck
  7. o0o tell Bec she did an amazing job on Dior!! We were all upset when she wasnt there anymore lol (well i did lol) its was absolutely the best conference ever!! Lisa Leady was AMAZING and absolutely hilarious!! soo going again next year!!! never again will i go to Ausgroom haha...i learnt sooo much more there than Ausgroom!! and so much cheaper! LOVED IT!! and if anyone goes next time, u MUST do a hands on workshop!! best advice and experience you'll ever get!!
  8. Just thought id put a post up and see if there are any groomers going to the Lisa Leady conference and workshops being held by APGN at the end of April? Personally i am sooo excited! Im very much looking forward to having a new perspective on topics, and different topics that Ausgroom dont seem to hold! And the prices are way more affordable IMHO than Ausgroom! It seems to go up in prices every year! Anyone going? Thoughts? if you havent heard of it and are interested...heres the link... http://apgn.com.au/events2.html Hope to see some of you there hehe
  9. Flea collars work if your desired affect is to push all the fleas to the dog's back end but not die! This is all they do. they dont actually kill fleas. and i find it makes dogs itchier because of all the chemicals. (from my grooming experience...)
  10. I was wanting to know if anyone can recommend and boarding kennels in the south eastern suburbs (im located in Mulgrave) that are really good with the dogs. my friend is going away and needs a kennel, so i thought id get any advice/recommendations i could get from any DOLers! Any help appreciated! thanks in advance
  11. i feed my dog the EcoPet rolls once in a while and he loves them!! Theyre a much healthier alternative to the rolls you find at coles/safeway/aldi etc! theyre all natural so you shouldnt really have much issues feeding it daily...
  12. I have my dog and 2 cats insured with Petsecure, and i would change in an instant, but unfortunately my dog has a back problem and this would be considered a pre existing condition so no one would insure him for anything related to this issue. even tho he hasnt had anything major with his condition, its still an issue with changing insurance companies, which, to me, is very very frustrating, as i personally think that Petsecure is waaay too expensive for the amount you get back! If i ever get another pet, yes i would insure, but definitely not with Petsecure!
  13. Are you anywhere near Mulgrave?? this is my ozdoggy add for anyone in the area... http://www.ozdoggy.com.au/ozdoggy/profile.jsp?ozdoggyid=4786 ive been grooming 5 years, won national grooming comps and just opened up in July last year so plenty of spots for new clients! feel free to call me any time!
  14. my dog is exactly the same! he wont drink a single bit of water while he is outside and we're away from the house...he has 3 bowls around outside of fresh water, even 1 by the gate where he lies waiting for us to come home! then he just comes inside and drinks a heap of water! i guess its just a stress related thing! not really much more you/i can do...as long as they have shade, they wont get that dehydrated you wouldnt think...
  15. love the GSD stage with all ears/tail/feet...best stage ever!!
  16. i have a schnauzer that comes to be groomed by me, who used to get bloody noses every time you dried him or went anywhere near his legs in general...owner took him to the vet and ruled out anything, saying its purely stress related. Since then, i have tried different slower approaches to his groom and hes now pretty much fine, no muzzle barely except sometimes his legs if hes feeling particularly "fun" hehe but so it could just be stress related...
  17. Hey! if you're not a PIAA member (the people that host/run it...) its usually around $950 or so for all the days/events...
  18. yup...ausgrooms in Syd next year... not sure about the part about only being allowed in if ur in the industy tho... its for beginners too! ok so here's the dealio with Ausgroom...supplyers from all over bring equipment to buy...sometimes they have sales/specials...last year was pretty pathetic in terms of the trade show...hopefully next year will be muuch better! (altho i hear pet expo in QLD was absolutely HUUUGE so maybe pet expo is the way to go for equipment stuff)... they get international speakers from different countries (my personal fave is Teri DiMarino and YAY shes coming again next year hehe) who talk about different topics they specialise in. However, last couple of years they have had the 2 speakers but done sems at the same time, so you have to choose which one to go to. if you have a friend to go with maybe have 1 of you go to 1 and 1 go to the other...thats always handy hehe you usually get morning tea/lunch/afternoon tea, usually theres a welcome function the 1st night and a cocktail party another, and sometimes theres an outing somewhere (eg QLD went to Outback Spectacular, melbourne went to aquarium with drinks and nibblies) Personally i love the whole thing, networking and meeting other groomers is always a plus! Its an enjoyable time...altho its not cheap! but definitely recommend going if you can...
  19. thanks for the post!! now im gonna be going to all 5 days and back to being broke very looking forward to it!! will be a great 5 days
  20. omg i soo want in!! im always at Ausgroom...its fantastic! been the last 5 years since i started grooming... definitely worth it!
  21. personally, i think you should be letting her drink while shes exercising!! when you exercise im sure you dont hold off on drinking till the very end...you need hydration! dogs are no different! if shes drinking 1L of water at the end, shes obviously dehydrated, then cos shes drinking so much so fast, of course shes going to throw it up! Let her drink the whole way through! she'll also be able to go longer cos shes being hydrated...
  22. im in Mulgrave...Eastern Suburbs...but ill travel to him seeing hes getting soo many good reccommendations!! i dont mind! thanks for all the advice guys, very much appreciated!!
  23. argh hes over an hour away from me!! looks like ill be making long drives!! ill do anything to help the problem!
  24. where abouts is George in Mickelham? do you by any chance have a contact number?? is he very gentle? cos im a little nervous that if he hurts my dog he may get biten. hes extremely sensitive with his back now as hes been sore for so long!
  25. absolutely beautiful!! LOOOVE the one of her sitting on the grass with the sun spot on the right! and the face on stare into the camera! beautiful! gorgeous golden!!
