  1. Mostly to keep him separate from the other dogs when I can't supervise but also so there's somewhere safe to keep him if I go out. My pen is inside, I just supervise him if we're outside. He's in there at the moment cos we all need a little break.
  2. Oh my gosh, I forgot what having a puppy was like! Aztecian Congo Savanne..... Nacho. :)
  3. Hehe I hope so. I'm getting nervous now! Hope M&Z are welcoming lol.
  4. Cable ties are the best IME and all I use, just cut off the excess. Those springs are useless.
  5. They're great aren't they?? I've got to set mine up today. I think Bunnings must have cottoned on as they now have a dog on the packaging, they didn't a few years ago, they were simply compost bins. :)
  6. Don't mean to rub it in but only 1 more sleep for me. :D
  7. Oh yeah, he would've turned his nose up at me! I'm surprised he took to it so well considering he was never crate trained. :)
  8. Found a crate at Better Pets & Gardens. :D Now to explain to Moose that it's not for him...
  9. Lol the goal is no accidents but I fear the reality will be much different! smash - check your laundry aisle for white vinegar, if you shop at Woolies just get the homebrand, it's cheap as. :)
  10. I have the opposite problem! Even the smalls still seem quite big.
  11. Soft crate. I know there are a few out there but I really liked this one. A few more shops to scope out tomorrow but otherwise I'll just get one online. I've got a travel carrier style crate I can use in the meantime.
  12. So annoying when the item you really want can only be found at a pet store that sells animals. Off to eBay I think, it's a lesson not to leave puppy purchases to the weekend before pickup.
  13. Honestly, I'd not do anything that was drawing attention to the area, even negative attention. When my pups were babies and had accidents, I put them out of sight before I cleaned up so they didn't see me and therefor got no attention, even secondary attention, from their actions of toileting inside. Then I'd vinegar and play with them in another area until it dried and they forgot (yay for teeny pug attention spans!) and chances are they never went back to the same spot because they didn't get a benefit from it, as opposed to the party they got for going in the correct spot. That's a good tip! I'll use that. :)
  14. Me too pers, poor little oldies. Zoe sometimes doesn't get to the dog door quick enough now that she's older, she tries though! Moose is just a little a-hole and will pee inside on the odd occasion. We don't have any carpet though, just wood and tiles so not too much of a drama. I pick up my pup on Monday and his pee will get the same treatment.
  15. I just wipe up the pee and then pour straight vinegar on it, leave it for a bit then wipe up the excess and let it air dry. And then I crave fish and chips for the next half hour while I wait for the smell to dissipate.
  16. I give all my dogs VAN Health Booster, on the recommendation of a DOLer when Moose was recovering from his burn. I've kept them on it for 4 years now. Zoe is 14 and has had CL surgery in her younger years and is still very spritely.
  17. Another for the compost bins. We use them all the time to block off hallways and parts of the yard when necessary. They're perfect cos you can make the area as big or as small as you want depending on how many panels you use. Definitely get cable ties though, I've found the springs they come with fairly useless. Last day of work today then I'm off for 3.5 weeks and I pick up Nacho on Monday. :D :D :D :D
  18. Are you for real? He's way too cute, seriously!!!! So smooshable.
  19. I get the 500g bag and it usually lasts me at least 6 months. I also usually get the Roast Chicken, the Apperteaser (just as an occasional dinner treat) and sometimes the Tuna Fudge. Lynn, the maker of Happy Paws, is a DOLer and a lovely lady. :)
  20. Thanks - might get a little bag of the puppy one to try. Quick question, is all the offal (or whatever hearts, liver, etc are called) okay for a dog? I read too much (eg liver) can be bad. Not that he will get a whole bag of treats in one go! Will also try cabanossi which is cheap and soft for walking around with him - I read soft treats are better when 'on the go'. Thanks :) only 10 sleeps until puppy comes home! Do you mean the offal used to make some of the Happy Paws? I get the Perfect Puppy for my Chis and the treats are about the size of an M&M. Perfect treat size so unless you plan on feeding a whole bag (which I wouldn't recommend lol) he'll be fine. The other flavours are cut slightly bigger but still treat sized. They go crazy for the Roast Chicken. :D If you want me to send you some to try I'd be happy to, just PM me your address. :) I get my pup in 5 more sleeps so I understand your excitement!
  21. 7 OSo, it hasn't aired in WA yet, starts in a few mins. :)
  22. Not rude at all, I just don't read questions properly. Sounds like it's just a repeat.
  23. Ahh sorry I have the dumbs. Hasnt aired here yet so I'm not positive. I'll back out of the thread now.
