  1. The Snuggle Puppy looks huge next to him. Time and patience! If he's taking a long time to settle then go back into the room and potter around without paying any attention to him. As soon as he's been alone and quiet for a few seconds give him some love. Rinse and repeat!
  2. That's what I'm inclined to believe too. Immunity is immunity. Period. Dog has it, or not. It's not a matter of how much the dog is immune, IMO. I don't think it works that way. I can only think that the ratio's begin to reduce when the immunity has not been tested by exposure to the disease. And then I believe the antibodies subside but that cell-memory applies. That's what I believe too and as long as they have a result I won't vaccinate. :)
  3. FF - I love that ad too! I think it's for Purina treats. It's sooo true. ETA: This one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iat-F0yuyfc
  4. Nawww he's gorgeous! Looks like a good setup! :)
  5. Just wait til he settles in and comes out of his shell a bit. ;)
  6. Ok cool, I will check it out when I'm next at the chem. I got some fresh pineapple in the meantime, will test it tonight. :)
  7. Ooh thanks Dory, and it's ok for dogs? I came out after having a shower and he'd done a poo and not eaten it, go figure! I'll still get some though as I know he's done it at least two times. ETA: I wouldn't think dietary inefficiency was the cause as he's on RC Mini Junior in the mornings and BARF/chicken neck at night. I just think he thinks it's delicious.
  8. You put it in their food and it (hopefully) makes their poo distasteful!
  9. Four, definitely four. Those bulldogs are just toooo cute!
  10. I personally wouldn't vaccinate as long as they had some response in the test as it most likely just means they haven't been exposed to the disease recently but they still have antibodies. Ask your vet how many distemper cases they've seen in the last few years and what your risk level is. I bet they've seen very very few and most cases are probably in dogs that have never been vaccinated. It's very rare in Australia but there are occasional outbreaks.
  11. My local didn't have the smaller black ones but they did have larger silver ones in packs of 4 and if I flipped them sideways it made a really nice size area for only $28, I then bought a pack of double locking zip-ties which made a really good join, bought two sets as I needed to also block off a few sidings in my yard, also got some of that black copper piping foam insulation tube to put on the bottom but will probably not use it as its prime meat for chewing haha, might add it to the side though to stop any wall dents. I've never seen black ones there before? Just the silver compost bin ones. :) Not long to go now Dory. :D Nacho has pretty much chewed the Velcro tabs off his soft crate lol. I'm thinking of maybe getting a metal one for during the day and just using the soft crate in my room for sleeping.
  12. That's wonderful. :) Love the photo on the Groom Quest page, adorable.
  13. He'll be fine. You can bring all sorts of things into the house yourself so I wouldn't worry too much about a footpath walk to a cafe. :)
  14. This is the Spotty Potty for those that are interested. :) Lots of digging at it at the moment so hopefully he doesn't destroy it lol.
  15. Nacho giving his cousin, Christmas Carols the British Shorthair kitty, a doggy greeting. :D
  16. Kyky..... Oh em gee!!! Look at those eyes. I adore his name too. :) :)
  17. I just posted in the Chihuahua thread that I was on the lookout and Nacho's breeder commented saying she had a litter coming up and the rest is history.
  18. That's what has worked for me.
  19. I'm teaching Nacho to wait for permission to eat (Moose does it perfectly) but it's so funny watching the uncontained puppy excitement when you approach with the bowl. So far we've gotten to the stage where he automatically sits (while still wiggling furiously) as I lower the bowl but still working on the control to wait. :)
  20. Okay to start straight away, just do it very gradually if you want. :) I'm switching my pup over straight away but it's not so much of a change as I'm only changing from RC Starter to RC Mini Junior. Not sure why anyone would feed Weet-bix?? Seems strange.
