  1. I did a DC count this morning and both Zoe and Nacho definitely only have front ones. Zoe is from a pet shop so it's doubtful her back ones were removed and I don't think Nacho's breeder would have had it done. Well I don't think I can see one anyway, hard to tell as that's just how he has always been. I've compared his legs with Nacho's and where I think the dewclaws would have been I can't see anything, unless that slightly thinning area is scar tissue. What do you think? :) His inner right leg:
  2. Interesting. :) So it would be rare for a dog to be born without dewclaws at all? I'll check Nacho again tomorrow but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have rear ones.
  3. Just curious.... :) Moose doesn't have front (or rear) dewclaws, Nacho and Zoe both have front ones. Is it likely they were removed or that he was born without them? I can't tell by looking. I put it on this board rather than general as I'm aware that some breeders have them removed for (perceived?) health reasons.
  4. Exactly what aphra said! It's a real life changer, even just adding a dog when you already have dogs is overwhelming. It takes a week or so to get into a new routine and adjust, give it time.
  5. Zoe humped both Moose and Nacho the first couple of days he was here. She's 14, plenty of life in the old gal yet.
  6. Excellent! It's disappointing that there were reports of these dogs attacking people but it took a death for something to be done. I thought it worthy to note this from the poor lady's husband: "I do not blame the dogs. I don't blame pit bulls," Ben Devitt said. "I blame people who don't take responsibility for their animals."
  7. Okay, thank you for the offer. :) I'll get through this tub first and see how she's going.
  8. LisaCC - that's amazing! Awesome job. Lhok - I'm glad he's okay but dude.
  9. On gosh, I hope he's okay. Could it be related to when he was sick the other week do you think??
  10. Yes, I tell Nacho he can dominate his toys as much as he likes but not my friends.
  11. Okay cool, thanks! She had her cruciate repaired when she was younger and was supposed to be on regular cartrophen but for various other health reasons wasn't able to have them and really I don't think she's needed them until recently, although she has her ups and downs so it's hard to tell. We'll see how the RHVC goes and if there's no improvement we might revisit the cartrophen. I will report back with how she's going. :)
  12. Ate the first dose without fuss. 2 scoops seemed like a lot as she only gets about 75g of BARF for dinner (she's 4kg) but it mixed in well. It's level scoops isn't it?
  13. I'm going to order some for Zoe (14). I noticed that she's been a little slower lately and her joints a little 'clicky'. I already give them VAN Health Booster but I think she might need something a little extra. Hope it works for her like it has for the dogs in this thread. :)
  14. She's gorgeous Dory!! So glad she and Dory are getting along. :) :) Can you get Dory to give Moose a call and tell him it's really not so bad?
  15. I ducked out for half an hour and Nacho managed to get out of his pen. Moose didn't kill him evidently... progress?
  16. I put a mix of about 1/4 vinegar, 3/4 water in a spray bottle and use that to clean up messes. I also use a more diluted mix with boiling water to mop the floors. Moose still pees inside every now and then, always when we aren't home. I don't think it's a case of not getting it as he pees outside 99% of the time, I think it's either a territorial thing or he does it in protest. Not much I can do bar locking him outside all day which isn't going to happen so I just clean it up. At least we don't have any carpet!
  17. People think Moose is a girl, even after I say his name. I think it might be a small dog thing. Wooohoooo Dory!!! Can't wait for pics!
  18. The vinegar smell dissipates pretty quickly. Put some vinegar in a bucket of boiling water and mop the floor with it. :)
  19. Yep! http://www.etsy.com/listing/62317437/custom-personalized-pet-id-tag-star-of?ref=br_feed_39&br_feed_tlp=home-garden ;)
  20. That's a lovely name! Traditionally female but I think it would suit a boy too. :)
  21. Sorry Krislin, I meant kelpiecuddles dog. Has the greyhound pup had a blood screening?
  22. Any chance she ate macadamias? Moose has had back leg paralysis twice from eating them but recovered in a day. Hope they find a cause Krislin, it sounds very strange .
  23. Such teeny tiny pups! Nacho is a giant Chihuahua at 2kg  , Moose is 4 years old and 2.7 so not sure how big Nacho will end up being. I do like that he's a bit more robust though! Here he is doing his latest trick. :)
  24. Not hash at all, he looks to you for guidance and to set the rules. :)
