  1. Thats reducluis. How many APBT owners do YOU personaly know that deny there DA. And for the American pit bull terrier to be king of the fighting pit while still being able to live with a family is great in itself. And coming from their fighting background and YES, are still able and do save life's and are great around kids ect is an inspiration in itself.
  2. My girl did the same thing slipping on the stairs, was quoted About $600 for the operation.
  3. Well sed. The denial of the breeds history is the last thing an APBT owner has to worry about. The Dogmen of the past are Respected in producing These great dogs.
  4. Never Trust a bulldog not to fight. One of the Golden rules among the APBT owners.

  6. would be a good idea, Lots of celebs have own APBT's and crosses, even our own steve irwin.
  7. So, if the APBT would be bred out in the open rather than "underground" how different would it really be? So are you saying that the current APBT is crap? lol. and if so then why are you such a fan of them? I am a little confused here. No the current APBT is not crap, Just the rubbish that quite a few people breed at home because you cant exactly go to a registered breeder and get one can you? Dont get me wrong if you know the right people there are some great APBT kennels around but your agave joe wouldn't have a clue, so they get there mates mut and breed with there mut and call it an APBT for all there mates to see how cool it is. Okay, thanks for that. I suppose that applies to any breed really. What I would really like to know APBT is are those APBT bred by "great kennels" as you say less inclined to be DA? No they are not less inclined to be less DA, thats in there breed standard. Almost like breeding collies to be less inclined to heard, not the best example but you get the drift. But in saying that i havent had a problem with my APBT and other dogs at all, but you will find that MOST APBT's are bred as family dogs and will never see a fighting pit in there life. I have no problem with DA dogs in the right hands.

  9. I have used wool wash to wash the ponies with for about 30 years with no ill effects ....................... but what exactly is your reasoning for wanting to use eucalyptus oil, I'm sure someone would be able to suggest something better (fleas, allergies etc) no fleas or allergies, weather is just cold and i didnet want to wash the dog outside like usally, so i thought just a quick rub down with a warm towel and some oil for a nice smell.
  10. i agree justice, I guarantee more then half the population of Australia wouldn't know the difference between an APBT and a cross, or even something that's looks even a little like a bully. And you cant compare an good bred APBT to the crap you find here in the suburbs, but this crap will keep on being bred unless they make it legal so people don't have to stay underground and can produce GREAT dogs that will then become the image of the APBT.
  11. ANKC or recognised or not they are still a breed of dog and NO one can deny that. They are more than worth fighting for.
  12. No way are they a Lost cause, There is way to many APBT fanatics to loose out. There's always a way.
  13. i ended up using some lavender oil instead, worked fine cheers.
  14. Just wondering if its safe to use eucalyptus oil on dogs? im going to try rubbing her down with a damp warm towel and a few drops of eucalyptus oil instead of the usual shampoo methods. Also can you groom short haired breeds? and if so what type of brush is recommended.
  15. There's lots you'd love to hear. Like the reason for cropping Dobie's ears is so it helps relieve the tension on their swelling brains And a 'Staffy cross' means 'Southern Cross Staffy', which means it's an Australian Staffy. Not Staffordshire, mind you, the 'proper' name is Staffy. Also, they're called 'pitbulls' because they were used in Spain to kill the bulls that were too wild in the bullfighting ring. You don't use collars on puppies, you use "choke chains" and if it does something wrong you chase it and step on the end of the lead once it's running so it learns what it did wrong and that you're the boss. And you can cure a bitch of aggression by letting it have a litter of puppies And if you have that litter, once their eyes open, you take them off the mother and their siblings except for feeding time so the only things they see are humans, they will get attached to people, and that will stop them ever biting anyone. That's what all the good breeders do *nod* All of these and more I've heard as "facts" from her. Thank god she's caught up in ruining her own life and hasn't yet bought a puppy All i can say is WOW, haha
  16. ive walked into countless butchers and just asked if they have dog bones, always get treated more then i expect, asking what size the bone need to be cut, then cutting and double checking with me ect. The only thing that varies alot is price, one bag of meaty bones that even i could eat was $2 then 3 shops up a bag of just bones the same size is $8,
  17. cheers i will have to get some, what is the recommended dosage for a dog?? its given by wight?

  20. what the hell is happening, were are emergency vets in Sydney near ryde/ drumoyne
  21. noticed a bit of raised hair with a bump, checked again now and shes covered in them il post pics now
  22. i thought the biggest breed was the Kangal, they seem to be much more consistent in there weight and size compared to other dogs that are a one off type thing. They all seem to be this size. http://www.thewallpapers.us/data/media/149...al_kpekleri.jpg
  23. could be anything at the moment, give it a few days and see how it grows ect. if it dosent get bloody/pussy then it should be ok.
  24. when my neighbors got there rescue it honestly barked from the time they left till the time the got home, about 5 hours non stop. It drove me mad for about 2 months but not once did i complain as i knew the dog would take some time to adjust and now it dosent make a peep. Same deal with the neighbors on the other side, two very vocal staffys. that squall and scream every morning when the owners leave for work and the same when they get home. still i would never complain as i expect they would do the same for me. They really have no grounds to stand on if its only been a week or so, tell them your having some problems as your other dog passed and they will have to put up with it. Nothing more nothing less. As for them filming your dog. haha who do they think they are. that's ridicules
  25. HAHA, People dont know the breed im walking, "oh your staffy is beautiful, not like those bloody pitbulls" haha i love it.
