  1. Oooh I love this thread! Jess 8-9 weeks; Jess now (almost 2 yrs); Bailey 8 weeks; Bailey now (3 years);
  2. I was there Jess got a pass in CCD!!! 91/100. I'll be at Southern Districts next weekend and Dover weekend after ETA: congrats xena98!!!!
  3. We NQ'd in heelwork in a novice trial but did all the other exercises inc. stays. [in SA]
  4. Thanks dancinbcs That makes a lot more sense lol.
  5. At least you can say you've done it! lol. Do you know what your scores were?
  6. It does. If people continue to pat her, she will jump all over them, most times they are people that have gave her attention previously. She remembers them and dosn't leave them alone. If people ignore her, she'll attempt to get their attention (by jumping up etc) then give up and go find her ball. But its takes her a while to give up.
  7. wow Vickie they are some great pics!!! very nice editing
  8. What sort of crate? I'll be interested in these replies as I'm thinking of getting one for my border. ETA- just read 'collapsible'. lol my bad.
  9. My 22 month old Border Collie gets very excitable when meating new people or just when people come over. She jumps up to say hello, then licks and licks and licks! She knows shes not meant to jump up, but she just can't keep her butt on the ground! I tell her to sit and she wiggles around and then like a ticking bomb, she can't control herself and explodes with excitement. She also makes little whiney noises. And when people pat her she just wants to lick their hands. I've tried so many things to get her to stop, but her excitement takes over. Any ideas to fix this? ETA: its really is a wonder how she gets full points in stand for exam!
  10. Bring fold out chairs :cool: As for Bella you can bring a crate (lots of people do) for her to stay in while your waiting for your turn in the ring . I don't have a crate, but a stay peg, to tie my dog to.
  11. Hi there :cool: I'm also very new to trialling. I don't think you mentioned stand for exam (or maybe I'm blind). Also you might not be aware that in trials you can't talk to your dog other then commands (also no food in the ring etc). If you bring your dogs de-sexing certificate then your dog probably won't have to be vetted (thats wat its like in SA). I would suggest just going along to a trial to have a look, to get used to what goes on before your actual trial.
  12. awesome! I'll make it to one, one day lol!
  13. I'm a fan of Nature's Gift Mini Treats: http://naturesgift.com.au/TreatsMini200gLiver.html My dog works very well for raw meat: chicken, sausage, fritz etc. I've been using cheese, but not actually sure if that too good for her health, loves cheese though
  14. I can't do the u-turn cos Jess bumps into my knee! Happens in figure eight too, but we are working on it!
  15. Good luck Smisch! Hope you find what your looking for <3

  17. I started training Jess the obedience dumbell early this year. So far not going to well She will take it from my hands and hold it until I tell her 'give'. But she won't take it off the ground. Any ideas to get her to take it off the ground?
  18. arghhh.. she dropped today in stays. At least this time we weren't sitting on a pass . She basically hugged the judge in SFE Fun day though
