  1. i didnt encounter any dog really barking with the sheep, razzle let out a woof and nothing was said about that. but from what i understand dogs are allowed to bark when they are working by law. his main concern was the dogs tied up and barking. weasels yes that would be my razzle constantly barking if i were to be working willow. i would hate for someone else to correct my dog when i was distracted
  2. well my boy razzle loved it. im hoping to get some pics, as my camera was dead i didnt take it, but hoping to get some off a photographer who was there now my only real niggle is the fact he doesnt stand for dogs barking...which is fair enough he's being considerate of the neighbours. but i found it stressful in that the dogs who barked were constantly muzzled or told off. so i spent alot of the time worrying about razzle making to much noise. etc if your kelpie is quiet or that doesnt concern you then by all means he's worth a try. I think im gonna save my pennies for an eric tighe beginners workshop. so i can at least compare the training styles etc
  3. yes cactus was real..i believe i cant imagine the owners would be to happy to all the dirt he prob put all over the floor after he pulled it out of the pot
  4. im with the others, back over the fence or into his yard. i would continue to ask him politely also maybe could you also complain to the council about his non child friendly dog being loose every morning?

  8. yes fair point thanx for clarifying aidan. i nearly went to that beginners seminar thingy with my boy, but i was busy that day and he ended up injuring himself so i couldnt do anything anyway. u have 2 kelpies and i have 2 koolies  and u live near me...we should so do a play date :D when my pair have all healed up from their injuries i think he might be worth a try even if i do go only once like i said im going to Dales this coming sunday so will give herding a try then :D
  9. yes observing sounds like a good idea weasels. i am mega fussy about who i will allow to handle my dogs  my boy razzle is a nutter, confident and outgoing, but when it comes to how he is handled he is very sensitive, love my crazy boy dearly
  10. erm..ok well my dog is my pet/family first and i am only interested to do some herding for a bit of fun...if he were to snap and hit my dogs snout i wouldnt be going bak...im a big softie when it comes to my dogs and dont take to others correcting/disciplining mine well but i might have read to far between the lines then and might actually like him...

  18. yes i really think you have nailed it!! tell your mum to stop flicking water at him, just close the door if she doesnt want him in there. also i would stop approaching him with outstretched hands and crouch down on greeting dont bend over him or reach for him, get him to come to you.. just my 2 cents worth anyway. best of luck
  19. I'd say desex also it makes for more laid back animals, in my experience, personally I wouldn't do it at all or at least until your pup grows up
