  1. Looks like they forgot to change the time when they did a cut & paste.
  2. I'll be there too, you available to give hand with the terrible twosome Missymoo?? If you need help we'll swap.
  3. I thought they legally had to contact the owners (unfortunately a lot of owners forget to update details when need be)
  4. We mix with water in a squeezy bottle (eg old sauce bottle) just a good slosh, not measured. It does foam and go through coat easier this way, do it with any shampoo we use.
  5. Yes 1 and 2 from memory. No mention in gazette, Sth Eastern & Yarra Ranges on 13, 14 & 15 Jan are Grps 1 & 2 inside, they may be ones you are thinking of.
  6. Update on the "white" pup, I had another look at him over weekend and when away from the other pups was getting no reaction (when got others out they were fine)recommended to owners that he be tested, got call yesterday saying he has been Baer tested and got the all clear, vet feels that he is just a very lay back kinda guy who is comfortable in his environment. Funny, vet put him down on certificate as a "pale" blue ACD, he thinks pup will probably get few more spots as he matures but not many (can see some more coming in undercoat). AmaCam+Digby, I would presume that the Dallie gene is strong in him even by his overall appearance, one of my employees is heavily involved with Dals so I sent these people to the Baer tester that they use.
  7. Get in touch with Missymoo, she may still be able to get some, have a look at her post: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/228274-unused-newspaper-in-bundles-for-the-taking/page__p__5545321__hl__newspaper__fromsearch__1#entry5545321
  8. Thanks for the reply, actually saw pup in the flesh last night, along with the patch over one ear, it has few light spots on the body and a "freckley" belly, no pigment around eyelids, black nose. The other pups in the litter are basically normal in colour except for a couple that have white patches or blotches. Dam is correct colouring and, from photo, so is sire. Deafness was my main concern also (along with skin problems) doesn't seem to be any hearing problems, responds readily to even slight noise when away from litter mates, but have already explained to owners re Baer testing (they are not registered breeders, have used friends dog as sire ). Nice people but no idea, at least they used a sire of the same breed!! (Unlike a number of others that I get in shop that I end up going through the sermon of why not to breed their already crossbred dogs )
  9. For those in the know, is it relatively common for two blue ACD's to throw a white pup (still white at 10 weeks with black patch over one ear) all other pups in litter are normal. Definitely not a two sire mating, bitch was evidently well locked up except when put to ACD stud. Not mine, belong to a customer.
  10. Unfortunately you do get them. We had one that I threatened with reporting to RSPCA if we didn't see it at least 4 times a year. First time it came in so matted that until we actually clipped towards the infected area (besides the filthy coat and the stench!!) you could not tell exactly what was underneath, so straight on to the phone to owner and told him we were taking it over to the vet at his expense, it was cleaned out, irrigated and antibiotics prescribed. Owner didn't even realise the condition his dog was in, too busy with work etc etc blah blah blah, just came home and gave the poor thing some food and that was about it, once a year clip off for summer with no bathing or grooming between visits. He has been consistent in bringing it in now and although it is always matted it isn't much worse than others we see. At least he took on board what we said and is trying to a point, he could of just ignored and never come back. We could of gone ahead and reported him but RSPCA wouldn't do anything, they would just say he is doing the right thing now as he has brought it to be groomed. Seen another that was so matted that it couldn't walk properly, turned out it had a length of wire matted into its coat between its hind legs, so it was basically being hobbled.
  11. And don't forgot the ones that come in so matted and neglected that they are infested with MAGGOTS!!!
  12. What about looking at a Houndbag, Australian owned, innovation of lady from Torquay in Victoria. http://houndbag.com/

  17. As I own a pet supplies business I always put a list of dog events that are coming up at KCC park in the window along with Dogs Vic media release flyers (at the moment these are about "Christmas" puppies). When approached about puppies I talk about why to go registered pedigree over pet shop crossbreeds or unregistered purebreds, explaining about what regulations ANKC affiliated breeders are bound by and tests etc that are done if applicable. Also put them onto Dogs Vic and DOL websites, if I know people involved with the breed they may be interested in I direct the people to them as a starting point.
  18. Will put flyer in my shop window and at Beaconsfield vets tomorrow, we get a lot of people in from Emerald area.
  19. Will keep an eye and ear out over my way, at shop and home, both not that far from Emerald.
  20. Double check with them if they got your entry I know of someone that entered Sunbury and all they got back was the return envelope with nothing in it, they called to double check and they hadn't had their entries received at all. :S They must have got the entry if they received the return envelope
  21. Spoke to one of the staff from there today, they are booked out for Xmas.
  22. Got my Saturday numbers today (says on back of envelope "Sat - Yellow, Sun - Blue") but no Sunday yet. Both cheques are cleared.
  23. Aussies are a "free stack" when on the ground ie let them stand naturally with encouragement to get them to stand alert, on the table some people hand stack and some free stack. At home when training for show by all means try to teach them to hold their tail erect, usually just by stroking the underside in an upwards motion. An Aussie will hold its tail erect when on the move. If your breeder is a show person ask if they can teach you or is there show classes near you?
