  1. If you think about the length that most terrier breeds were docked traditionally, they were about a hands width in length. perfect to grab. But then some breeds like a dobe were docked shorter, if on attack they couldn't be readily grabbed by the tail and thrown off balance, hence possibly losing the impetus of their attack. You do see a number of terrier showies lift their dogs onto the table in the manner you are referring to, with some breeds it is done so the "hairdo" is not messed up before the judge views them.
  2. Few different ones on the market, probably Rudducks Bitter Bite, Bio Groom Chew Stop, Bitter Lime. Most should be available at your local pet stores.
  3. As Whippetsmum said, Savic ones are available here, ditributed by Pet Pacific so maybe contact them and see if there is a supplier in your area. http://www.petpacific.com.au/ I have actually just put one in my station wagon to try it out.
  4. Hi Erny, I just got in some new toys in, pop in one day and have a look. New ones are from "Safemade" and are oven proof so you can actually cook the treats in them! Most of the toys people have mentioned I have available.
  5. Dogs Vic facebook page states that Sunday's show will be outdoors and Monday's show will be indoors. Wish it was just one or the other for both days
  6. Any pet store should be able to order in for you, either brand already mentioned are readily available.
  7. Thanks BB, it was a lovely day with great company  We are thrilled to announce that our girl Maisie gained the final points for her title today and will now officially be known as Ch Beadale Gold Nuget. Maisie joined us a little under 12 months ago having been bred in SA, had a home in Qld for 15 months, a home in Tassie for 10 months and has a forever home with us. Love this little girl sooooo much :D Big congrats to Maisie
  8. If anyone has own caravan or the like, I have just booked a powered site at Myrtleford Caravan Park, worth checking if you are camping or caravanning.
  9. Toy Papillon Small Australian Terrier Medium Kelpie Large Dobermann Giant Greyhound? Wolfhound? This is my hard category, nothing that drools much!! :D
  10. You might be onto something Austerra. I am a clean freak & regularly clean their drinking water. Start again with fresh water & put the rock back in. Maybe this is where I am making a mistake. Will try your suggestion Much appreciated. :) Just bear in mind too that most dogs will happily drink out of the fish pond or a muddy puddle, maybe they get some minerals naturally that way, tap water is so purified nowadays. They really don't care if it's not crystal clear. :)
  11. Dog Rocks do work when done correctly, I've found that when people don't get good results they are changing the water too often and hence losing the minerals from the Dog Rocks. Make sure you are using the right ratio of Rocks to water, only top up the water, if you really need to wash out the bowl tip the water and Rocks into another container, wash the bowl then replace the Rocks and water and top up if need be. Hope that makes sense :D
  12. K9 Homes is a wholesaler for them, they may be able to help. http://www2.k9homes.com.au/cms/4
  13. Tosca - kelpie 18 1/2 yr old, still doing 5 km walks up till couple of weeks before given wings, very sudden weight loss and loss of mental capacity.
  14. Maybe ring Pet Pacific, they are distributors, ask them for stockists in your area. http://www.petpacific.com.au/Default.aspx
  15. There are two levels in Savic: Economy which is black wire and Deluxe which is steel, for 24" I would tend to sell for $55 and $70 respectively in a retail store.
  16. Which Savics are you wanting?
  17. What a fantastic journey to take, well done to them all.
  18. Retailers can get it, I sell it in my store for $82 (bit less for Dogs Vic & DOL members). Whereabouts in Melb are you, my store is in Beaconsfield. I have a couple of regular customers who buy it (one does ferret rescue and that is what he feeds them) Thanks for the compliment on the store, I think most of the delivery guys and customers love the parking too. Andrew with the ferrets is a nice guy, very pleasant and polite.

I have a couple of regular customers who buy it (one does ferret rescue and that is what he feeds them) We're in Mill Park. We go to Greensborough or Thornbury Bit far to other side of the city :) , if you show your dogs I could always bring one to a show that we are both entered in. Otherwise just ask again at your local stores where you get the dog food from, they could get it if they tried

  21. So sorry for your loss, heart goes out to you. At least you have found her and can put her suitably to rest at home. RIP little one.
  22. Might need to correct that Sway, Grp 2 not split, so Grp 1B would be 73-174
  23. I'm so sorry Missy Moo, hope you find here safe and well, all my best wishes for you, if anything that I can do just ring.
  24. Have a look at "Cantrolcord", I have sold heaps of these and everyone loves them, easy to use and great results. Also they are Australian owned and made, designed and patented by a lady in Berwick Victoria.
  25. Interesting about the off milk comment? Did you find it was comparable to the other brands on the market, I thought that the price looked good, in fact I think there was a buy one get one free offer? Comparable in what way do you mean, ingredients/cost?? I'd have to check the price, as I said it was a free bag to try before deciding to stock it in my store.
