While I agree this is an awful photo of a very nice bitch I fail to see any clipping. My bitch has that line of hair down her neck and believe me she is not clipped or stripped to make it. I didn't mean the line where the coat naturally turns, I meant the light area behind/above that line. It looks to me like it's had clippers & thinning shears very cleverly worked over it. I might be wrong but that's what it looked like to me . I have been there first hand and seen the amount of hair that those pro handler/groomers can get off even from a smooth dog! Her neck looks the same as my red bitch and I don't clip or strip her :D

Class Winning/placings And Ribbons
Rebanne replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've seen BOB and challenge handed hout. But I'm just wondering why, if the club is obliged to have ribbons for the classes, they don't hand those out ring side? I would have just thought if they weren't going to be handed out what is the point of the club having to have them! Like I mentioned, I'd like them handed out because at least it would let me know that I had been awarded the class! But if they aren't going to hand them out then what is the point of requiring them? (I still want them there, because now that I know this I will go and ask for one, but it does feel a bit odd having to go and ask for your ribbon!) Takes up time handing out 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons for every class. You need to watch the judge while showing. And listen. If there are two or more in a class, they often point with their fingers, one, two, three. And the steward would then usually say the numbers. Even with one dog in the class they judge usually acknowledes the place getters. Sit yourself down outside a ring and watch. You can learn a lot that way :) -

BOB and challenge ribbons are often ringside and you help yourself or they are handed out. I have never seen place ribbons for a class handed out at an everyday show, if you want them you do need to go to the secretary's office and ask. -
easy peasy  no really I did my first from the same point. It was a bit tough but not too bad.

Which councils require a dog to be desexed when being reclaimed by it's owner?

How Do You Amuse Your Dog When You Are Sick?
Rebanne replied to Staffyluv's topic in General Dog Discussion
let them sleep on the bed with me, they never move :D -
Why did the pound desex your dog? You weren't buying him, you were collecting him. (Paying whatever fees/fines you had to).

Bull Mastiffs Attack Mother And Children In The Uk
Rebanne replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in In The News
someone has already explained how differences can occur. In the ring they are on a lead and shown by someone who knows how to handle them. Get stirred up at home, break down a fence, emotions are higher, different triggers etc. But to rip into people, no matter what the trigger/excitement levels are is totally not acceptable. The dogs deserved to be put down. -
There is no need to be embarrassed about your boy. He is from a registered breeder and as you say blue is allowable. And why not have a colour preference? I do in my breed.
-
My first thought was to send all the deposit back. My 2nd thought is to keep some because a) you have incurred extra cost by keeping the pup for longer then you thought not to mention phone calls etc made and b) there should be some consequence to her actions. You may not have been the first breeder she has stuffed around nor may you be the last.

And how are they going to judge healthy?
-
So have I but the dogs in question did not exhibit very sound temperament at that time. Because of the judge or because of the dog Apart from contradicting yourself about putting hands on the dogs, you have your own recurring theme when you reply to me. Are you part of the solution or do you just set out to slag off others who are advocating for their own breed? Do you own and exhibit Maremma, or did you not see that they cannot be lumped together with other breeds and approached in a generalist fashion? No I don't own Maremma's nor do I want too. I wasn't slagging off anyone unlike yourself who made it pretty easy to find out what judges you were talking about. And I don't see where I was contradicting myself about judges putting hands on. But that's alright you just keep on believing how hard done by you and your dogs are. And why did you show a dog that not even you could examine?

My GSD was 6 when formally diagnosed by xrays. She had been seeing a vet for acupunture and chiro since she was about 2. Zoe had a really good response to acupunture so she had gold beads implanted into the points. She lived another 5 years without too many problems but did require frequent top ups and tweaks. Zoe was titled in obedience and agility before the HD diagnoses and did an ET afterwards. She was kept lean and fit.
-
Why would you even show a dog not even you could touch? Just setting the dog up to fail. And it's Irish Setter and you don't know how it's display of unsound temperament was rewarded by the judge or do you?
-
I think the point you missed is that they are in fact titled, meaning enough judges deemed them worthy and did not non award. Surely a judge who could not approach a dog becuase of fears related to temperament, would non award. I've seen dogs awarded that the judge never touched, also seen them dumped.

Maybe Tralee's dogs aren't sound in temperament which is why he keeps trying to say the judges are approaching the dogs wrong? It's a recurring theme of his - the judges always don't handle/approach his dogs in the correct way, therefore putting his dogs at a disadvantage.

have to agree with you Steve. Feral pests.

with my GSD who was ball obsessed and who had severe HD we adapted our playing style. I still threw the ball for her but she was only released to get it after it stopped. No more chasing a bouncing ball. We only played in our back yard. Also hide and seek games were very popular.

I'm glad your boy is ok but he might have bitten his own tongue :D

My 16 month old pup/dog still enjoys tipping over her toy box and spreading her toy collection from one of the house to the other, much like a child would. So yes, get used to it :p yep Warrior pulls out half the toys in the basket everyday :D -
