well then let this topic go

only ones I would put on my dogs
-
and 17 months old is not a pup, it's a bad mannered dog who is going to end up in big trouble. No way I would be letting him off lead around other peoples dogs while he is so lacking in training. And it's not just other dogs he has to worry about, if he did that to my dog he would get a swift kick from me and your ears would burn for weeks.
-
how do you know that's all you have to do? Been selling pups on there recently?
-
of course they do! I am so sick of comments like this, if ethical registered breeders didn't advertise where most people look then those puppy buyers would never be any the wiser on how to get a good quaility puppy.

if you have really been lurking for a year then there is no need for such questions, it's discussed heaps. Your Mother is a grown woman, she got herself into this mess, she can get herself out. Best you leave her to it.

please, if you are going the lawyer route get this thread and the other deleted, I realise you need somewhere to vent and hash things out but it shouldn't be on a public forum.

Can What A Dog Eats Help Repel Ticks
Rebanne replied to sheena's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
That is incorrect. Advantix does repel ticks, you are mistaking the way it works with Frontline (where the tick has to attach in order to die). I would say it is your tick prevention product which is working to fight ticks rather than the dogs diet. ;) Rebanne, I am glad the supermarket food is working well for your dogs, but I also have never had a problem with fleas. But I am not talking about fleas. I didn't reply to you though I quoted English Ivy who did mention fleas -
from a human perspective. I have creps in my knee, nothing shows up on xray, sometimes it aches like anything, more often it doesn't hurt at all. I very rarely limp. I have had at least 3 xrays on the knee in the last 5 years but nothing shows up.

what ? those little shows held on week days, where all the Judges rock up ? I also don't buy the line of it's the handler not the dog. If a dog is good enough it will win groups, full stop. I agree if a dog is good enough it will win groups but I also think that some dogs do win because of who is on the end of the lead. so there is more then one way to be a petrol champion imo, it's not just the people who title their dogs on 6 point challenges. It's a pity the system couldn't work and produce worthy dogs the way it should that GayleK put so well in her post, I just object to people thinking the only "bad' Grand Champion is the ones that got there on 6 point challenges.

Can What A Dog Eats Help Repel Ticks
Rebanne replied to sheena's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I don't treat for fleas and it's very rare for mine to ever get one and I feed supermarket food :D Luckily I don't have to worry about ticks -
what is grand about sending your dog to tiny little shows and getting a BIG over a handful of other dogs, what is grand about a dog getting BIG cause of who is on the other end of the lead? It's all very subjective and not every one will agree on whether a dog with the grand title actually deserves it.
-
Yep... but does it really matter? does it affect you and your dogs? is it that bad that someone keeps giving clubs entries and spending money? you don't have to use the animal in your breeding program if you don't want to or buy a pup with said petrol champion in it's pedigree. If the dog is not worthy then it comes back to the judges to have the gumption to non award, but not worthy in who's eyes?

Congratulations!

How To Distinguish "good" Breeder From The "bad" One?
Rebanne replied to jebee's topic in General Dog Discussion
some breeders don't have waiting list or take deposits the other thing is you may not know which pup is to be yours until quite late in the process. Depends on what the breeder wants; my last litter everyone had to wait until I had made my choice, I think it was around the 6 - 7 week mark. -
you could go left up to the roundabout and go around it, then back to Halls Rd that way. You don't have to cross the road if you want to be a bit safer. A merging lane is a good idea though.
-
maybe your "friends, friend" has concerns about the health and well being of the dogs if they actually do go back to your "friend"
-
just as well you hadn't already gotten a pup

this is why I have never fed osso bucco bones, they have always scared me. Hugs to daisy.

I'm happy to tell price first up, can save a lot of time, but I wouldn't answer all those email questions.

Cavvies Purchased From Registered Breeder-
Rebanne replied to Jodi's topic in General Dog Discussion
No one even knows if the breeder was actually contacted or it was just a bullsh!t story told by the owners. I have cats, I would not take back one of mine if they were not cat safe. -
Nsw Greyhound Green Collar Assessment
Rebanne replied to skyesblue's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not in Vic, unfortunately - any dog can be assessed (ie they don't have to be in the program), but they do have to go to the GAP kennels for the week long assessment period. Has that always been the case with GAP Vic? I don't recall that with Bart but it was a while ago that he was assessed. Its fabulous that this change has now happened in NSW and I would imagine it will make greyhounds more appealing as pets. it was changed a few years ago for legal reasons Trisven13 -
Nsw Greyhound Green Collar Assessment
Rebanne replied to skyesblue's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not GAP but the government has altered the laws regarding selling of dogs with ongoing medical problems which means GAP, and other rescues, have more leeway. -
you don't know a lot about breeders do you, both of those bolded statements show that.

Nsw Greyhound Green Collar Assessment
Rebanne replied to skyesblue's topic in General Dog Discussion
got nothing to do with how dangerous they are. Vic government has relaxed the rules about selling a dog with ongoing medical issues, hopefully NSW will follow
