  1. They do now, or they will? I've never put the microchip number on my pups rego form (I do have them microchipped though) - just their tattoo number
  2. From the highway, when you slow down to 80 and go past all the service stations and motels, turn left towards Ballarat. Stay in the left lane, continue on through the 70 zone. You'll come to traffic lights where the left lane must turn left - so turn left here. Continue on through the traffic lights, roundabouts etc until you get to a T intersection and give way sign. You turn left here. The show grounds are on the right hand side (right at the roundabout) however there is usually a laneway to the parking behind the show grounds from the road you will turn left onto - look for a sign or trailers etc.
  3. What happens with parking now that they've got the back blocked off and are building something (an oval?) there?
  4. When I transfered my prefix into both mine and my sisters names, I asked if we could register the dogs etc as owned/exhibited by 'Blakngold kennels' rather than our names, but apparently it can't be done anymore, and those you see like that were done before the rule change (in Vic)
  5. Anyone know of shops selling the old style Oztrail solid walls for a 3x3 metre gazebo? Are the new corner-to-corner style compatible with the old style - ie can you zip them together when you've got a couple of gazebos set up together?
  6. I took 2 of my GSDs to Melbourne to participate in this study today. If anyone was considering it but was a bit hesitant, my dogs didn't even notice the tiny needles and all they were required to do was fall asleep! The whole thing was completely stress free for the dogs and myself Its a nice feeling to have helped out, in this instance and perhaps other dogs in the future with the findings of the research
  7. Chili - get her CD title and train for Open, if that goes well, perhaps try some trials. I'm not sure if my nerves will stand up to doing out of sight stays with her! Monza - train him in drive and work towards trialling. Would like to have his CCD and be getting ready for novice in 2011 Termi - continue with clicker training and teach her the exercises relating to trialling, with the ambition to trial in 2012 ET titles for Yoshi, Termi and Xilla
  8. Yep, Lecatade is like Hydralyte and Nutrigel is high calorie good stuff to keep them going and hopefully spark their appetite again You can get both from Vet n Pet direct or your vet might stock them. I find them handy things to have on hand for when dogs aren't feeling well http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/LECTSACH?s...amp;category=61 http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/NUTRIGEL
  9. I'd look into getting a dryer for him - then you could bath him and give his coat a really good blow out regularly to get rid of it quicker
  10. Yes, I think that's what it must be.. and your girl got it twice?! Poor, poor thing! How did you nurse her back to feeling better, please let me know, anything will help. The vet explained to us that bascially it was just like feeling very very dizzy. The vomiting is due to the nausea, so is the lack of appetite. We gave our girl a shot of cortisone both times, and she was given anti nausea meds like your Gus. She was off her food for a few days both times. While she was unstead on her feet, we set her up with soft beds and tried to keep her quiet/still. We gave her Lectade to keep her fluids up and some nutrigel to keep her going. Within a few days she was feeling better, though it really knocked her around the 2nd time (we think the staggering around hurt her already arthritic back) She was 15 years old when she experienced it. There are a couple of threads here that might be useful to you http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=vestibular http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=vestibular
  11. That made me laugh too - I clicked to go to the next page and had to go back to check if it did actually say 'Bread' :D
  12. Our old girl had vestibular twice, and her symptoms were the same as when poor Gus experienced. I hope thats all it is and he's feeling better soon. Our vets suggested a cortisone shot would help, though apparently its not known why it does
  13. Clean Run emailed me back and told me to use the online shipping calculator through their website - no offer of a discount Oh well, was worth a try!
  14. Thanks for posting about them Sheena - I've just emailed about the postage I bought a blackdog treat pouch around a month ago and I've only used it a few times - noticed on Sunday at training that the hinge doesn't work any more I guess I should email blackdog to let them know too.
  15. In short, yes - thats all good The article here 'GSD pedigrees - what does it all mean?' should be helpful http://www.gsdcv.org.au/registration_pedigree The above article explains the 'A' and 'Z' but it doesn't mention the numbers - they're the score the dog got on its xrays. 0/0 is perfect hips or elbows and the lower the number, the better the hips. 1:3 means the dog score 1 on its left side and 3 on its right side, which are excellent scores. 0/0 elbows are perfect Zony is a German import and Germany has a different scoring method to Aus but a N means normal hips (really good) and Ed N is again normal (really good). Here is an explanation of breed survey http://www.gsdcv.org.au/breed_survey
  16. I've paid $205 at one place and $135 at another
  17. See I would say the opposite! I find most people don't realise they're a working breed like a border collie or kelpie, and obviously it depends on the bloodlines, butsome of them do need LOTS of exercise and mental stimualtion to be happy
  18. After a big break of over 2 years since her last trial, on Saturday Chili got her final pass for her CCD title Although its been a long time coming, she's done it in style with 3 wins and scores of 98, 96 and 94 I'm looking forward to novice with her in 2011
  19. Same here - gives me the shivers thinking about the fight and what could have been. People who talk about breaking up fights with buckets of water obviously have never seen bitches fight to kill.
  20. We gave Jassie some lectade just to make sure she was hydrated well, and some nutrigel when she wasn't eating. Mum bought her some special things like My Dog and Natures Gift cans etc to temp her to eat and offered her several small meals over the day.
  21. Our 15.5 year old Golden Retriever has just recovered from her 2nd bout of this. Its so upsetting watching them struggle and feel so yuck. Has your dog had a cortisone shot? That seems to have helped our girl both times. I've also heard there is a drug for dogs with dementia that has been shown to help with Vestibular too - might be worth asking your vet about? We were told the sypmtoms could go on for a couple of weeks before they feel better, but our girl has recovered within a week both times.
  22. ish

    Upset Tummy

Or Protexin, which is one specifically designed for dogs/animals
  23. Oh sorry, I don't know - was answering the electrolyte suppliment part of the question
  24. Lectade is the best, but also more expensive than some of the greyhound electrolytes (Recharge etc)
