Sounds good ST I was planning on buying him a harness anyway. I think IF he is too young that dosen't mean I can't learn by watching. Plus Chessies are supposed to be really good trackers and I don't know if I will have the time/money to get into retrieveing as much as I would like.

Amypie this Friday it is likely that Toby and another dog at my club will be getting measured. (I am being peer pressured by my club to enter Toby in novice jumping at nationals ) Ness if RubyStar dosen't need it I would be interested buying your book.

Toby's broken leg never had surgery but probably cost us at least $4000 all up. With the fortnightly x-rays and the cast changes at least once a week from 9 weeks to 5 months, then the weekly appointments to check the open sores and the muscle development, plus the antibiotics and pain mdication... not cheap! The leg still isnt fully recovered! The muscle takes a long time to be what it was. Needless to say both my younger dogs are insured now.

I will be going, I really want to do it with Lincoln but he is probably too young at the time (4 and a half months) so it will be another thing for Toby
-
Also Perth Dog Club has obidience in Vic Park on Wednesday evenings.
-
I am interested but will see how things go time wise as I may be working that day. Would love to do this with both boys!
-
Sorry I missed you valleyCBR, how did you and Lincoln go? Lincoln gaited well and got Baby of Breed both nights. He also got a comment from the Swedish judge about having a good coat.

I don't think the results are normally posted on the net.

When Is A Puppy Not A Puppy ?
RallyValley replied to mrs tornsocks's topic in General Dog Discussion
My friends 9yo Lab acts more puppy like (mentally) then my 15 week old Chesapeake. However I say my 1.5 year old plays up at agility because 'he is still a puppy' . -
Lincoln is almost 16 weeks and seems to be getting it. The only time he has accidents is when he gets so caught up in playing that he forgets he needs to pee. Otherwise he will try to make it to the door to be let out. With Toby who is now a year and a half we just suddenly realised 'Oh he hasn't peed inside for a few days' and then he never did again! He will even try to get outside when he needs to throw up.

And the spectators too Smart thinking in a tough course that had many dogs DQed. did you really get him to drop in the middle of it? I would have loved to have seen that! Please tell me this round is on video! See, having an obedience dog in agility can sometimes be useful and shows the obedience tasks aren't just glorified tricks, they actually do come in handy for day to day! The look on the judges face was priceless

Today I took this picture of Toby and I think it caputres his personality:

Was just looking at buying some last night. So glad I held off and now I can get green or blue.
-
I will be down at agility tonight with no dogs (phew). Lincoln was a bit funny about his mouth at the show and when I was practicing this morning I noticed he is missing a tooth so he was probably all sore.
-
Between showing I took Toby down to the agility oval and did the practice jumps that were in a tricky sequence and he was very focused with only boring kibble. Congratulations to everyone who has done really well this weekend! I will be there tomorow without dogs to watch.
-
I had both the brown boys there and Lincoln did me proud in the breed ring and Toby did the practice jumps at agility really well! But with the two dogs it was too hard to watch agility so I will be going tomorow to cheer on my clubs team!! If I go tomorow that means I have been every night of the Classic.

Congrats Boxagirl. I saw you running Wolf (I think) from the distance and he looked very professional.
-
RubyStar I know a few people BUT I am semi considering setting up camp at agility tonight I wish I could be in two places at once. Showdog I saw your Gordon (I think) who looked very nice! Setters look so lovely when they are all showy.
-
Anyone know who got group for working?
-
RubyStar I thought Ruby did great. There was a lot more noise and action then there usually is at K9 when a trial is on and at least she didn't break the stay part.
-
I agree that judges should non award more for poor exhibits. I disagree that judges should non award based on that thier own country standard is different to ours. BUT I don't know why the non awarded dogs were non awarded. Pointdexter Moose is such a cutie. How did he go?
-
I am there again tonight and I will bring it down.
-
Just the obidience trial?
-
Tiggy were you at Western Classic for obidience last night? There was this adorable stafford who decided that in the down stay he wouldn't down but stand stay (he never wavered or moved just stood the whole time ) it was so cute!

I am not entered on Monday but might go down. :D
