It goes the other way too. I have a kelpie x who can be slightly DA with bigger, strange dogs when he is on a leash. At the park the other night somebody with a large bull breed started to walk towards me as if to let her dog meet Toby I backed away and got the response "he looks scary but he is ok" to which I replied "well I am not 100% sure mine will be so its probably best not to come closer". They were like ok... they walked off but not very far away and once thier dog had seen Toby he pulled over as the owner had little/no control, the dogs were fine but the moral of the story is no matter how friendly a dog looks it dosen't mean it is friendly and vice versa, Toby and the dog only got along well because the dog had good dog manners and would have gotten along fine with most non DA dogs.

I know someone that 'can't afford' to vaccinate thier dogs but wants a litter of puppies because 'it would be cute'. I was like oh how will you afford a c-section or will you let your dog and all the cute puppies die cause your broke.

How Did Your Pet Get Its Name?
RallyValley replied to crazyboutdogz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Lilly- my brother liked the name and my parents liked it best out of all the names me (then 7) and my brother (then 8) suggested. Toby - I had decided to get another puppy but had no idea what type/age/sex I was getting, I liked the name Toby and it suits boy/girl. He was named well before I got him. He gets Tobias when naughty. Lincoln- Named after Abraham Lincoln, wanted an American name because the breed is American. His show name 'Lucky Shot' was because it was a Western theme, his half sister/sire/grandsire have gun themed names and I hope its an omen for good luck. -
ST I can probably get there 3pm on Friday if you need me too but don't have a cabana.
-
If the dogs don't like them I will gladly donate them to the Toller cause. Sadly for you though Lincoln has taken a liking to tennis balls and Toby loves squeaks so I doubt that I will have this issue.

Any Chessies entered? Also I just have to say WOW entry numbers are huge! We have one of our biggest WA shows this weekend and our highest entry is Lab's at 42, and very few breeds have over 25 entries.

ST it's a shame you can't set up camp down the middle. ;)
-
Ptolomy I hope you are keeping a commision or something for all this hard work you are putting in! I am happy to give you the money this weekend and will pick them up when they arrive. I am happy to pick up the iSqueaks for anyone else that sees me on a regular basis but can't get down to Canine.

For Saturday and Sunday it goes: [utility][Grp 6 misc] [Gundog][Working] [Toy][Grp 1,5 and 3 misc] Office (Except maybe I got the sides wrong, like I am not sure which rings are closest to the road)

I am at the Classic Sat and Sunday. I was going to go down yesterday with Lincoln so he could see what a show was like before his first show but I had to work so I went down Friday instead (and left Lincoln at home). Speaking of the show this weekend any results?
-
I found out I have to work tonight (am about to leave actually ) so I went down last night. Are you coming down tonight??

8 Dallies on the Monday. 1215 entries for the Friday/Sunday show. 1048 for the Saturday/Monday show.

Our dogs live on a property with a good perimeter fence bar one section that they use to visit the neighbours property and play with thier dog and the neighbours dog visits here (we did discuss this with neighbours). Lilly grew up in suburbia and she has once followed me out when I was going for a walk but the other dogs know the house boundries. Saying that we do have a dog run they get locked in at night and when we are out because we don't trust them 100%.
-
Lab Rat there are 7 Dallies on on Friday. I am going to make the effort to get to a Bunbury show this year so you will get to meet Lincoln.
-
Saturday 27th 2 Douges and only the 38 Dobes before Sunday the 28th 94 dogs before the 2 Dogues

I am mostly nervous because I have been having too much fun and not enough training and some of these babies are pro's and some judges expect babies to be pros. But he will trot along on the leash and will stand (with his feet all wrong) on command and that is all I expect right now. I have been doing some hand stacking but he is only a baby so I don't want to bore him. I am not out there to be competitive, I am out there so that people can see what a Chessie looks like. Irish Setters have an ok turn out, you must be happy with that.

I started to panic I am soooooooo nervous. I am at my first show, my dogs first show too and I am first in the ring.

Yes Ptolomy the i-squeak company should seriously be paying your for all this promotion.
-
Yes Mirawee I only got a list of breeds and numbers for ach, plus a slip to pick up the catalouge. Does this mean my entry didn't go through and if not who is the 1 Chesapeake on the list then.
-
I got the numbers today! But I didn't get an actual number for like an armband, should I have?
-
I hope Ody recovers 100%. And good luck for your litter! Depending on circumstances I would like to try and attend the country shows this year so hopefully I will see you in May (with your pups).
