Hey slightly off topic, but when people are saying board the are they meaning at a boarding kennel facility, wouldnt that be awfully unfair on the other dogs there?

Maybe the owner was 200km away from home because he's a truck driver. I'd assume he's the one that travelled that distance, not the dog

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?
Esky the husky replied to Elenbah's topic in General Dog Discussion
I paid what I think was a fair amount She was microchipped, wormed, vaccinated and desexed all before we got her. $1000 seemed like a bargain for that -
Excessive Barking When One Of Us (not Both) Is Out
Esky the husky replied to ibon's topic in Puppy Chat
What do you feed him? You could put that into a kong and freeze it (if appropriate) -
Survey Finds Women Prioritise Dogs Over Partners
Esky the husky replied to Keshwar's topic in In The News
We do a lot of things as a pack Oh, Esky and I go for walkies, go to the park etc. Where its practical she comes for car trips with us too. I agree with Whisked Away my partner has his computer to spend heaps of money on. I can spend money on my dog. -

What Do You Mean By "excellent Temperament"?
Esky the husky replied to Pillow's topic in General Dog Discussion
I hate hate hate the idea of a dog without the correct temperament! I don't want an Aussie Shepherd with that acts like a husky. If I've done all my research and picked the dog thats right for me I want that dog. I want the whole package; I want a whole border collie, not a dog that resembles a border collie. -
And they say our dogs aren't trainable ;) Sounds like they're going great!

Our long coated husky does fine in this heat Rebus should be fine, lots of water and shade. I let my girl moderate her temp, she knows best. She loves her clam shell pool on a hot day (or a mild day or a cold day )

What Type Dog Breeds Are Suitable?
Esky the husky replied to all4addy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Why does the breeder have to be local? Many many many people have their dogs flown in from other parts of te country. My next dog only has breeders in the eastern states (or WA) none here at all. So don't be afraid to branch out. -
How Did You Choose Your Breed Or Breed ?
Esky the husky replied to jase293's topic in General Dog Discussion
As a kid I had a couple of breeds I really wanted to own; a schipperke a saluki and a husky. For my tenth birthday my parents bought home a jack russell x minature fox terrier mix from an accidental litter their friends had. I was left to look after and train the two dogs we got from that litter. Of course being ten, I had no idea how to train two terriers so it didn't happen. Once I'd moved out of home I noticed a few more centimeters on my waist line, thanks to the lack of walkies. My partner and I rented a place with a yard and looked at breeds. I realised I didn't need to get such a typical breed. I started researching huskies and despite all the nightmare stories I read I decided I wanted one. I didn't want an easy going dog I wanted a dog that wouild encourage me to get out and excercise and if I didn't it would punish me by destroying the yard. So we got our first husky Didge, a beautiful wolf grey girl. She came from a BYB (and it really showed when you compare aspects of her temprament to our pedigree girl) I loved my girl dearly, and she taught me so much, the joys of having dogs inside, the joys of taking dogs places with you. Sadly we lost in an accident and there was a hole in my heart a mile wide. Then came Esky, boy she's a character Some days I feel like this Esky has taught me how important it is to let a breeder match you to the right dog. I want our next dog to be more trainable and more people/ handler focussed. I'd love to have a Lappie and I'm quite partial to Aussies too. -
It'll be a different food that really does it for each dog. My first husky was literally the whacko for schmackos dog Esky is crazy about toast, over every other treat i've tried. It's toast! I'm sure you'll find what makes Archie tick. Could be ham, could be cheese, could be bits of apple

Me and Esky. Maybe hahaha

I'm going away for a few days in May. Can anyone recommend somewhere to leave the huskilator while we are away. Also what should I be expecting to pay for 4 days boarding?

Ah don't mind me, I must have mis understood something I'd read/ I thought the Klee Kai had to be AKC recognised to be recognised here (where's the hit over head emoticon when I need it )
-
What I said has been taken in the wrong way What I was getting at was that the breed is recognised overseas, But only as a breed in development. It was my understanding that the breed had to be fully recognised over there, before it could be over here. So why campaign the ANKC now, when you know the breed won't be recognised. I know not everyone wants an ANKC recognised dog either. In fact I was quite keen on Klee Kais for a while. I hope to one day meet one of these dogs. Best of luck to them

What's the point, they won't be recognised here until they are recognised in the country of origin.

The Strangest Cross Breed You Have Ever Seen?
Esky the husky replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
SOme of the Oodles are just awful looking. I am amazed some people can convince themselves that they're trendy enough that they can overlook how darn ugly some of them are. I haven;t met too many weird crosses. The golden reteiver x poodle in our class is awful though. Such a nasty nature -
Welcome Home Rebus/angus?!?!?!?!?!?

This sounds like such an amazing breed. I'm wanting to learn more. Apart from size are there any major differences between the mittel and klein ? In the show ring are they judged separately?
