  1. Well obviously if she is muzzled then she is safe now! its only once the muzzle comes off then the kids are at risk of being eaten Glad she did you proud though!!
  2. Tic how long did it take from submitting the paperwork until they got assessed? Lexi cant be assessed until she is 14 months old, so thats in February, but should I submit the paperwork now? I really think she could pass an assessment she has come such a long way in the last few months
  3. Ive had similar problems with Tess, her main problem was poor socialisation though. I quickly learned that off leash parks were a bad idea, at agility Id only let her near dogs that I knew wouldnt snap at her, she is still much better than she was but I have to be ready for her to snap. Unfortunately I think its a part of the breed, not saying every JRT will go like that, but its there, and his experiences with the other dogs wont help that, you could try giving rescue remedy or something like that before he goes into a stressful situation (like lining up at agility) and only let him be near dogs that wont retaliate if he snaps at them Im about to try T-touch with Tess (when my book arrives) so if it has an effect on her Ill let you know
  4. Sure will help! Doesn't have to be a long eared breed though. Regardless of the length of ear, the snood still covers right over the whole area, be it a JRT ear or an Afghan ear. I cant see a JRT tolerating a snood to protect its ears lol...well...mine wouldnt anyway lol
  5. Isnt this just one of the quirks of having an 'unusual' dog? Not everyone knows about Cresties or every other rare or unusual breed out there
  6. As I said Ive only met a couple and they seemed to be 'medium' to me, and these dogs are in a very stimulating environment at agility training
  7. What about a Duck Tolling Retriever? Ive only met a couple but they seem to be medium energy to me
  8. How long does the DAP take to wear off? only asking because they arent allowed to wear any sort of collar or harness in the ring in ADAA agility so if it has to be constantly there for it to work then that wont do the job, I was looking at getting some to spray in her crate though, anyone know the best place to buy it online?
  9. Has someone got a camera? I misplaced mine in my move and it hasnt resurfaced yet
  10. Looks like we are going to have a decent number!!! I wont be hard to miss with a Goldie, a JRT and a box of Donut King lol
  11. No photos, but in this area we have chihuahuas, a mini daschund, dalmatians, standard poodles, GSDs
  12. I'm gonna be there and my cabin is booked and my holidays from work have been approved now all i hope is that Myf comes in season in the next few weeks and not later on so I can take her with me lol. I have lots of people bunking down with me in my cabin just hope there is booze lol Im booked with you!!! and I do have a bottle of triple distilled raspberry vodka waiting to be drunk lol
  13. there is a memory foam bed on Deals Direct, not sure on the size though
  14. Ive only ever had girls, I couldnt see myself owning a boy My mum has always had girls too, and decided to get a boy for their latest dog, as much as she loves him, she said she will definitely go a girl next time round lol
  15. I am, I was worried there might be something wrong, but nope, after 9 years of running around like an idiot she hasnt done any harm to herself lol (that includes dragging skinny railway sleepers around the back yard) Im looking into where to buy Vit B1 online, but Im having trouble finding it lol
  16. Well, according to Garry Tess is completely sound except her patellas are a bit loose, it did take a lot of effort for him to get them out so they cant be that bad lol Anywhoo Im about to place an order for the T-touch book, see how that goes, Garry also suggested vit B1 shots as a relaxant so Ill look into that
  17. You might be better off posting in the Ridgie section of the breed subforum, there would have to be a group, I know the Goldie owners often organise meets through the Golden thread
  18. Aww this coincides with Lexis first birthday too (Dec 1st) is my girl invited to celebrate too? lol
  19. Well Tess is booked in with Garry for Thursday afternoon, he said she will be fine for a Saturday competition so long as he works on her by Thursday
  20. Ill give Garry a call next week Do they have to 'rest' at all after having chiropractic work done? she is already entered for another competition next weekend so should I wait until the following week before getting her looked at?
  21. Yes, I was taught to use mine by a behaviourist who uses Steves techniques, mine is a ROGZ one and yes they are fiddly, especially if you are fitting them the way I was taught Ruthless what sort of collar do you use? Ive never seen a leather one
  22. Yes Noisy which book did you use? I think there is anxiety and hyperactivity there, but she is mostly affected by anxiety, especially at agility, I know when she gets sniffy its because she is getting nervous (thankyou Control Unleashed, until I read this I thought she was just being naughty) t-time, roughly how much am I looking at? Are dog chiros as 'looked down on' as human chiros? (causing problems to keep you coming back) Last night I got curious and youtubed some massage for dogs, nothing serious that could do harm just light massage, anyway I found a video that said to make slow circles with the palm of your hand on their chest and belly...omg the change was amazing, Ive never seen her so relaxed!!
  23. Awww thats adorable! Lexi has never really met a cat, but she is persistant on wanting to chase the neighbourhood ones when we go out for a walk
