  1. Love it, nothing nicer than seeing two totally different species getting on so well. Magpies are funny. Beautiful pup too.
  2. In a situation like this, animals are well and truly on their own, it would be nice to think that we care enough to send help for them, they don't have a chance otherwise.
  3. Really good coverage on Landline. James is a gorgeous boy and didn't put a foot wrong for his rider. I really like them, apparently there are rescues for Standardbred ex pacers etc. and just like greyhounds they can be re-educated to fit into whatever life after racing.
  4. I voted yes, because I would hate to be the one who is trying to get my dog back. I would be devastated. Seeing as it had only been a short time, I think the OP should have given the dog back. I mean the actual owner had the dog for 7 years.
  5. Thanks Keshwar, I didn't realise there was more to it so I have included the last bit in my poster as well. Looks good too.
  6. Well I got it word for word, and have typed it out and now just have to pretty it up before I print it out and laminate it, then hang the poster on the pantry door with all the other doggie stuff.
  7. Lilypilly, I take it you are on a single pension. OH and I are pensioners, mine is aged pension and his is disability pension until he turns 65 next year. We live from pension to pension have nothing in the bank to fall back on, we used to have 17 dogs until 2010, now we are at 7. We have a vet bill of $2600 at the moment, and a really good vet who lets us pay it off. We buy nice chicken mince from leonards for the dogs, at $2.00 per kg, cheaper sometimes, we go through 1 kg per day plus dry food, which is Purina One for seniors and adult for the two younger ones. We have nothing worth stealing in our house as we have always put the dogs first, no matter what. We also have 3 credit cards to pay off which is our biggest problem, plus normal monthly bills. We pay our car rego in 6 monthly payments instead of the full year. We own our house which is a huge plus, and our rates are rural and not quite $300 per half year and we also get a pension discount for that. Our medications are on the national health scheme, if we had to pay full price for them we could not afford it. We are both on multiple meds. We don't drink or smoke, couldn't afford to if we did anyway. Christmas is like any other time of year for us, Santa hasn't visited for at least 10 years or more. Have you tried going into centrelink to get help. Wish I could help you in some way.
  8. Yeh, it's like that. I want to make it into a poster to hang up in the house, wish I remembered how to do shorthand, he talks fast.
  9. That's just gorgeous pers. Could watch it many time over.
  10. Great to hear all the different stories. Dogs obviously observe more than we give them credit for. Mine also know when we are going out if I put different shoes on, but most of all if I put a bra on, then they really start cracking up.
  11. Went to our daughters place this morning for her 42nd birthday morning tea. As usual we shut the two youngsters in the bathroom (big area) and put the toilet lid down and they are happy with this arrangement. The oldies have the run of the house when we are out. So came home let everyone out, came back into the bathroom to wash my hands and looked at the toilet lid which was still down, and there was a yellow puddle in the middle of it, one of the youngsters must have got caught short and knew where to go, but the lid was down. Just goes to show, they don't miss too much, wonder if they would like the job of picking the winning lotto numbers for us.
  12. Just beautiful and lying on the deck, she looks ever so grown up. Love her direction finder ears, they went thataway > Often people don't give pups credit for being able to work things out for themselves, but they are smart cookies.
  13. Great news MUP, I bet he is pleased to be home safe too.
  14. Mup I hope Mr Huxley is found soon. Have you had a look around your place, has he ever been to the other property if so would it be worth a look there. Also flyers left at the pub or shops, I don't know what your area is like if it has shops etc, but would be worth a try.
  15. I wouldn't edit anything about the Tibetan Terrier, but I would love to edit the colour and pigment part of their standard to accept the beautiful chocolate colour.
  16. If it is working well for the dogs and while they are going well on it, I wouldn't change anything. Sometimes changing can bring on all sorts of problems, especially if you have dogs that have digestive problems etc. ( Don't fix what ain't broke as the saying goes)
  17. How do you keep their nether regions clean if they never have a bath? Just wondering... My curly coated dog even though clipped short around his bottom needs a clean up around there at least once a week and I find its nicer to give him a bath weekly. They never seem to get dirty bottoms, but if they do it gets washed off or wiped off, the hair around their bums is #10 blade short, and their coats grow to about 3/4" before I they are clipped all over again. all my dogs live in the house with us, so are kept clean. The others get bathed whenever they need it. For them I use the pink Johnsons conditioning baby shampoo with a few drops of eucalyptus oil in it, the same as I will use for the two youngsters.
  18. My two youngsters will be 12 months old on 25th of this month, and have never had a bath in their lives. Tibetan Terriers have no doggy odour and at the moment smell quite fresh, and their coats are so shiny. They run around our huge yard, which is so dry at the moment the grass has almost turned to dust, but they have a dirt repelling coat so the dust doesn't stick to their fur. They are clipped short and just slicker brushed every now and then.
  19. Gorgeous pics, love the shirt too, "Twiggy" looks so cute wearing it. Is the exclamation mark a thing with iggys when they are allerted to something ? Love the pic with the chook. Wait until she starts munching on the horse poo. She will have the most photographed bum ever.
  20. Poor Rosie, she has gone to a better place. RIP Rosie
  21. WooHoo, bet you didn't sleep last night.
  22. Love the pics, specially the one of her smooching up to her shadow. Indy would suit a livewire. When she comes home a name will probably come to you. I guess lots of pics once she is home. When my daughter got her two Border Collie pups, the chocolate and white girl was always going to be called Bella, but the Red and White boy had a few names but they just didn't fall right, so one day she was downstairs and the boy decided to help her, and she said to him "You're a helpful harry, aren't you" and it clicked, Harry suited him to a tee.
  23. Very lucky doggies. That is why I hate leaving my dogs at vets overnight. Glad these guys were saved, hope there were no other animals in there.
  24. The two bitches in my avatar are litter sisters and have just turned 11 months old, and I have 4 litter sisters from a litter that shouldn't have happened nearly 11 years ago which we kept. What is wrong with having multiple dogs, they live with us and are loved equally, and I have always subscribed to the theory that it is better to have more than one so that they can be company for each other, being of the same species. I can't understand your reasoning MissyMoo.
  25. Wow, fantastic pics T. Just love looking at all the different animals.
