Oh I know that feeling! Waiting to see if Mum's pregnant, then waiting to see if there's a girl for you, then waiting to see which one is yours while all the owners of the boys (*cough*Lobostar*cough*) know exactly which one is theirs because none of the boys are show dogs... it's an excruciating wait, but worth it in the end. Haha! Apologies for wanting a male pup On the other hand, all of the girls are gorgeous, so you'll end up getting a nice one anyway... Yes, I know. We're so excited, my OH and sister have decided they like the same pup. I told them both not to get their hopes up, but they're not listening. We'll see, only a couple more weeks to go.

I'm not feeling personally targeted. I'm just saying that we won't be there anymore because Akira is active, and even though she's never caused trouble I won't be able to get her to settle to the levels others will want her to, and mainly because I don't want our puppy in a situation like the one on Sunday (I'm not worried about Akira because she can take care of herself).

We probably won't be at meets anymore. If you want active dogs to be quieter, then Akira can't come at all because even if we ran her all morning before we got there (and she's normally been exercised quite a bit anyway because she has obedience in the mornings) she'd still be over the top because she gets too excited and it's not fair on her to keep her on a leash the whole time. And with as many dogs as it sounds like there was on Sunday, I don't want our puppy having a bad experience at such an impressionable age.

The Woofery is awesome. Have to second feistylady on that one.

I agree with you. One of the big no-nos (and it's been brought up in plenty of threads in the past) about going to dog parks is not to take toys with you. Not bringing toys isn't going to eliminate the risk of a fight, but it will reduce it. YOUR dog might be fine with a ball, but someone else's might not be, and I personally think about how other dogs would react rather than my own dog. I would never bring a ball for Akira even though I know she wouldn't get possessive, because I know there might be others who would.

Akira is both of our dog, we bought her as a couple. However she is very much my OH's - she loves him soooooo much and he adores her. She's currently sitting with me only because he's not home. He tends to be the "good cop" whereas I'm the "bad cop" - he'll encourage Akira to do things (like jump on him while he's on the couch) and then call out "Cate, Puppy's on the couch!" because he knows she's not meant to be there but he encouraged it. Normally he gets told off rather than Akira. I do all of Akira's training, but he can easily get her to do things I can't, such as she heels much better for him than she does for me. I wish he'd take a little more interest in her training at times because she works her butt off for him in a way that she won't for me. I'm really hoping that Halo is happy to be my dog.

I love her markings too. Pink girl has a similar amount of tan but with no snow nose, light blue girl is lighter, dark green boy is similar again and dark blue girl and Lobostar's boy, Thor, are te two darker ones. :D Not long now Parrotpea! Can't wait for lots of puppy pics!

Oh I'm not really underestimating, just being honest. I've been told a judge is much more likely to look at an older dog than a puppy, so I expect Ella to be ahead for quite a while yet.

I hope Ella does well... I might even let you beat us once or twice. PS Somehow I think it'll be much more than once or twice, tbh.

Thanks Harley. Will probably take you up on the offer. They've all been socialised with kids already (Lappiemum had a few kids around at Christmas) but I want her to be as good with kids as Akira is.

All six of them are gorgeous in their own way. Some are cuddly, some are squirmy and they all like to play for a bit then sleep for a bit. They're very cute. One more photo (the last from my phone). Here's dark blue girl.

We had a lovely visit with Lappiemum and her family today. Got to cuddle all the puppies, took a video of them playing and had a nice BBQ. I took stacks of photos, but they're on my camera so will need to be uploaded when I get back to Adelaide. However, here's a photo from my phone. This is purple girl, also known as BB, who was a real sweetie.

Looks like it was a great day guys with lots of new dogs. Will hopefully get to the Feb one but will depend - I could bring Halo and hold her the whole time because she'll be able to get lots of cuddles which will be great for socialisation.

Yay HollysMummy, not long now! And he's so cute BlueAmstaff! I'm currently in Melbourne and am off to visit my puppy and her littermates this afternoon. I'm quite excited.
