Susan Garrett's Crate Games

Sounds really good Jetpoint GSP. I have just got a copy on DVD so am looking forward to giving it a go I was only going to use it on my younger girl but sounds like I can try it out on both my guys which is great. I'm wrapped :D -
I will give it a very good go. A lot of people have commented on how patient I am, especially with Stella. I will not lie, she Is a handful most of the time but I see huge potential in her & she is such a sweet natured girl. I can only hope for Stella to be half as well behaved as your Dobe while at the vets. Our last vet visit was a complete disaster. She had a complete mental breakdown & ended up biting the poor vet on the face Took her 2 days to come back down emotionally from the visit. So am currently getting her used to wearing a muzzel ready for our next visit

Yes 99% sure they did. No number plates just to make things more difficult for them.

Just heard a lady that rang our local radio station & said last night 7.30pm, Merrylands area in Newcastle, her son was just coming home from work & there was an old, beaten up white ute, towing a trailer with dog crates in it, covered with an old tarp. Neither ute or trailer had any number plates on it. They had the back down just about to load up their 12 year old Rottie & their 5 year old Shepard when he stopped & went to approach them they took off very quickly. There was 2 dogs already in the crates in the trailer The people across that live across the road have been looking for their 'lost' 2 Lab's all day God knows what these B@#tards did to these family pets. 12 year old Rottie & the Sheppard but when the son went into the yard to check, the usually very placid Rottie wouldn't come to him & was visibly shaken, the Shepard was running around the yard with it's tail between it's legs going off it's brain. Please everyone just keep a look out for this ute or anything that you thinks looks sus. Please, please keep a vigilant eye on your very much loved four legged family members. These barbarians seem to be on the move, targeting random places & times & any breed of dog is not SAFE. Take care everyone.

Rumour, how nice of Deisel to share Trevor for one night. There is NO sharing Pete around here, even though Pete the first was originally Sonny's to begin with. He only has to look like he is going near him these days & little miss NO SHARE runs over & grabs him in her mouth, gives poor Sonny a filthy look & off she goes  She is a little miss. Lovely photo's by the way of your boy. I will post some pic's of my girl when I figure out how to do it I am thinking Stella may have a sore shoulder or fore arm as she wasn't her happy self last night. Very quiet. So I gave her some anti inflamitory & she was a lot brighter this morning, so I might continue it for a short time & see how we go. She is still licking her leg but not to the extent that she was.
-
I am going to myself a copy of this. It may just help her. I had never heard of it before. Many thanks for providing the link noisymina, appreciate it :)

Stella doesn't suck anything like that. Just poor Pete. She has 7 Pete's. I have to wash them cause they are drenched with slobber by the end of each day, so she gets a clean one to come inside with at the end of each day
-
Yes I don't even think she knows she is sucking on Pete & when she is she is a million miles away. Totally relaxed. I think it is like OCD. Funny Drake sucking the other dogs hind legs. I thought Stella would grow out of this but she didn't. I think the sucking thing/licking anxiety all of those things are connected somehow.
-
Have a Thunder Shirt, it works sometimes. What is T-Touch about noisymina? I am curious. Sounds like it may help & I'll try anything to help Stella have a more relaxed life than she had at the minute.

Oh WOW Rumour, Diesel does exactly the same as what Stella does. That's uncanny. I never thought I'd see anyone else's dog doing this as it is quite quirky, isn't it? Especially when they do it for hours on end. I might try & see if I can limit her having Pete to only in the night time when she comes inside or something, that's a good idea. Because she does have Pete all the time when she is at home during the daytime. Stella is a very soft natured girl too. Although if she is mad, look out. She is very feisty if her feathers are ruffled She is very on edge most of the time though. Stella has just started this licking thing & it concerns me as she has made her leg quite red now already. So am going to try some bitter spray & see if it helps. Diesel looks like a lovely boy Rumour. Has Diesel always had Trevor ? Had to just add Stella is the most affectionate dog. She just loves a cuddle.
-
Sure, will do. Such strange behaviour, isn't it? I am going to try some bitter spray. See if it will help any.
-
Well that sounds like they are certainly chasing these leads up, which is great. Our local police station isn't maned either half the time. Least they are trying to track them down.
-
Good on you for reporting it Might be nothing, but it be something too, certainly sounds very strange. It would be very unnerving.
-
Thanks for posting that cat. I wonder the exact same thing. I don't get it either. Weird.
-
Well that is a coincidence pp, isn't it. With the forelegs being licked as well It is really strange behaviour. I have never had a dog suck on things like Stella does or carry anything for any extended period of time. I did try to break her of this habit when she was young but to no avail. She just flipped out & ran around frantic till she found Pete then she was right. She lies like a turtle & turns Pete upside down, her front feet goes on his head & she sucks on his tail part. It is the same ritual every time. Then when she gets up or gets a fright, which she does a lot, she just carries him in her mouth, everywhere. It does look cute but I do feel it is a real anxiety issue with her, just like a dummy for a child She sucks on it for hours at a time. She has lots of toys but Pete is the only one she does this to. When she is inside with us, she gets a few of her other toys & puts them under her front legs, then plonks poor Pete on top of them & off she goes again. We get a lot of attention when we go camping, people stop & look as she is running around with this big honking bird in her mouth. Even funnier when she is out on the boat with us & Pete is with us as well I do think this leg licking is going to be a problem, hope I can break her of it. Was your bed sucker a nervy type of dog PP? What was his nature like? PM me if you want to PP

Hi persephone, She has been out with me all morning running around & stuff. I paid special attention to her & didn't notice a limp or anything out of the ordinary. Stella is a quirky girl. She carries & sucks on a her toy pelican 'Pete' pretty much the whole time she is at home in the backyard & Pete also doubles as a pillow when she is tired It's like a dummy for her. She has always done this since I brought her home at 12 week's old. So I didn't take much notice when her leg was saliva soaked at first cause she always has slobber on her. Then I noticed her constantly licking this one spot last night. It does look irritated slightly & a bit red. This very well may be a comfort thing with her, she is a very needy girl. Will try your suggestion, got to find something bitter. Hopefully it will help her to stop licking it. Thanks pp :)

OH just phoned me to let me know that on latest news on the radio, yet another dog was stolen last night from Raymond Terrace. A Bull Mastiff, he thinks it was a puppy but not sure on age 2 guys in their early 20's were seen acting suspiciously in the area late yesterday afternoon apparently Police are asking anyone with any information to contact them. Also the police are thinking about setting up a strike force to stop this crime ring & make some arrests. I hope they do ASAP.

My 18 month old Border Collie girl has last night started to lick both her front leg, at the top, front, where the leg joins her body. I noticed her fur was wet & the skin is quite pink underneath. It is a patch as big as a 10 cent piece or there abouts. It isn't a hot spot but I want to catch it before it becomes one. She isn't scratching & doesn't have fleas. Am a little concerned as to what is wrong. She seems well & her happy usual self. She is a very highly strung girl. Could this be stress related? Is there something I should be putting of it, cream or something. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank's in advance :)

That is exactly what OH said to me when I put my mini pony order in with him yesterday, " so I suppose we will have a pony next galloping around the loungeroom next with our 2 dogs" He knows me too well :p

That poor 5 month old staffy pup : ( Just a baby & had to be pts because of the trama he has been through. Wounds all over him, his teeth had been ground down. Ever so sorry for this to happen & to me it equates to the very same as child abuse. Makes me feel sick & I so wish I wasn't part of the human race at times like this. RIP Staffy Pup. Run free boy.

My boy Sonny barks at the tv when any type of dog is on & the sound doesn't have to be one. Pretty much any kind of animal will get reaction & he runs up to get a closer look & have a growl. Even when a fishing show is on he tries to snap at the fish LOL. If I want to watch a dog training dvd I have to out him to bed otherwise I don't get to see much of it cause he is right up at the screen watching. Even cartoons like Sylvester the cat, gotta watch him haha Weirdest thing when I "try" to watch the crime channel & a 'baddy' comes on, Sonny runs up to the screen, really close & he gets really angry, growling & barking. As soon as the crooks image is not on the screen he returns to his lounge room & gets comfortable again. When he was a puppy he used to run out side right where the tele is to see if he can find that dog. He doesn't do that now. He is a very special boy & funny boy.
-
Me either. Maybe your right. I really hope so. Cause it seems on the surface they are not doing very much, does it?
-
I agree with you totally Nevafollo. I haven't left my 2 alone for the last 2 weeks & don't intend to until this problem is over. It's just not worth the risk. And it is sooooo not right or fair. In their own yards & they are still not safe. I am very angry I was wondering if maybe they are getting 'inside' help as well. IMO there is to much of it going on to be just taking pot luck. Police should be ALL over this till they get a result. I know there are more important issues in some peoples eye's but this is still IMPORTANT & needs to be stopped NOW. Before anyone else looses their beloved dog
-
I really don't know perrin. This is certainly not just one guy in a truck, this is much bigger than that IMO. They must have 'spotters' out & about, who knows.

I have already put my order in for one here  So darn cute !
