Just heard on local radio 3pm news late yesterday afternoon that these B's had tried to steal dogs from the private home of a lady who works at the local animal welfare shelter at Lake Macquarie. So this is quite wide spread it seems through this region ATM. Same white Hilux was spotted I think though

Tank is the same one as on FB & yes he had no visual marks on him etc he happened to go missing in the same period of time that another 2 dogs were taken from the same area. I am unsure whether these cases are related or not. It's just so sad IMHO to have your dog stolen for any reason. Fighting or otherwise

Yes, I really believe that it is about making people aware "heads up" about it. Keeping our eyes & ears open. Being informed & up to date on what is going on regarding this. It certainly is a horrible time for us dog owners with this huge black cloud hanging over us ATM. Very worrying, sad times

I think OSoSwift, that your last statements says it perfectly...I second that! Me too !!

I hope this thread can stay on topic & 'nice' because I (& I'm sure many other's in our local area) need to know what is happening regarding this horrible situation that has been happening & the more people are made aware of it, the more chance I feel we have of catching these b@#tards. Also even if this thread reminds 1 person to bring their precious dog inside today or check that their side gate is locked, we may of just saved that dogs life. Who knows but while it is being talked about & 'out there' at least we are in with a 'fighting chance' of catching these very cruel people, unlike the poor dogs that are being used in this criminal torturous act. This morning's local radio news made comment of the dog fighting & that the police are asking anyone who has seen a white Toyota Hilux rego no AXX--- with 4 dog crates on the back & covered with a bright blue tarp to contact them urgently. A friend of ours who lives in Lemon Tree Passage heard someone trying to get into the side gate of his backyard 2 nights ago but they couldn't get it open & by the time he got out there they were gone. He owns a Dingo & a Border Collie I haven't heard any more regarding poor Tank either. Just so very sad & I feel so bad for his owners Might just take a while for blood work results.

Yes all 4 paws crossed x2 here as well :)

Sorry double post folks

I don't know if there is a news story on it. I would like to read it if there is one.

This whole horrid thing is going from bad to worse OH has installed another lock on our only access gate to our backyard. I understand it wont stop the b@#tards if they really want my 2 beautiful guys they will just take them But hopefully it may deter them. My heart goes out to anyone who has had their beloved dog stolen. I doubt you'd ever totally recover. I know I wouldn't. I am not on face book, so they have now hit the local pound now have they. Not enough to choose from in OUR BACKYARDS this is all just so very tragic. Somehow they have to be stopped

That is such a sad story regarding your neighbours BC the spotted devil. What a sheer waste of life for such an intelligent, active & effectionate breed. It is criminal really. Poor dog must be bored out of it's mind. I so feel for for this poor dog & any others "doing the time" cause they certainly have no quality of life R.I.P. Sarge poor boy. Very sad ending. Sorry so angry atm at a loss for words
-
Totally agree with you 100% ChloeEastwood. Very well said.

I truely hope something can be done to catch these low lives. They are very sneaky & always on the move. Someone must know something about they how they "roll". Wastes of oxygen that they are, they should be held accountable for their deplorable actions. Maybe save some poor innocent soles in the process.
-
Yes, we need something because what we are doing simply isn't working. It isn't enough to deter these depraved people.
-
It's just heartbreaking isn't it ! For all the totally innocent beautiful dogs & their devoted familes that are left totally distraught with their loss of their beloved, treasured dog.
-
OMG !! Ground the poor dogs teeth down. Jesus thats disgusts me. How very cruel & barbaric can one be. Trouble with this whole extremely horrific situation is there are a lot of very cruel people out there with not a compassionate bone in their body that will pay very big bucks to watch this "entertainment". With no regard for the dogs or their welfare, its all about the cash. Just sickens me. They need to be stopped.
-
Cat, sounds like they aren't fussy now. Just anyone's much loved pet will do
-
Oh both of mine are show lines, maybe that is why. The boy is a lot more work than my little girl though. Not that I mind cause I love grooming, just thought there might be a reason why. I love Maremmas but can totally understand they would be a huge amount of work, they are big dogs with big coats
-
That's a very good question Purdie, they must just drive the burbs & watch people walking their dogs. Who knows. I wondered that myself. They sure as hell seem to know where to look
-
Hi Clyde, one question, do you find double coated desexed dogs harder to groom than entire ones? out of curiosity. My desexed boy is heavily coated & I have to groom daily to keep him looking his best.

Local radio station this morning & OH rang me early this morning from work in Newcastle & apparently one of his apprentice's heard about through a friend who lives in Medowie. Just dreadful isn't it? The lengths you have to go to just to keep your precious loved ones safe in their OWN Yard My stepson lives locally & owns a Aussie Bulldog who is just the nicest natured dog but is built like a brick outhouse, so I have let him know to keep him in the house as much as he can when he is not home because I think it seems to be the preferred breed for these low lives. I hope these b@#$tards get caught soon. It is so worrying for me. I have also posted this heads up on the lost & found thread under the Stolen Bulldog "Tank" who was a very sad victim of these dog thieves
