  13. In an ideal world people would always be polite and ask if the can pat the dog. But alas we dont live in an ideal world and the dogs have to learn to cope with strange people coming up and touching. If parents or children ask if they can touch l give them a brief lesson on how to touch. If they are really obnoxious pat the the child on the head and go nice kiddy, shove a finger in the mouth check its teeth , hopefuly you wont get bitten saying nice kiddy, if you do get bitten report them and sue the pants off them, this is how you can supplement your income. Normally by this stage the parents have stormed off, but if you see them in the street again make beeline straight to them and start again. I think that turnabout is fair.

  22. Wondering if anyone has experience Azotoria, tying up or muscle bound as the greyhound people call it. My corgi had an episode in May and was paralysed. He was taken to the vet and given anti inflamitories and some pain relief. He saw a Bowen therapist the following day and by evening was scooting and next morning back on his feet still a bit wobbley but over time has come right he is having pentasan about every six weeks. He is having teaspoon of hemp oil in his food at night as well as a muscle powder and brewers yeast. He became a chewer which is something he never did before the chewing is happening less often l think that it was a form of pain relief. Caught him with a shoe the other day he was very embarassed as he had always stuck to toys. Can anyone offer any advice as to how to avoid this in the future. Gayle
  23. My Corgi was paralysed this year he is back on his tootsies. He has had intensive Bowen therapy visits to the vet for pentasan injections. He no longer has bones due to weakened back muscles that caused constipation. I include a teaspoon of brewers yeast for the vit b and teaspoon of hemp oil in his food. Hemp oil is a good source of omega 3,6,9. Since he has been the oil he seems to be happier.
  24. Has anyone noticed that the wider the collar the longer it gets. I needed to buy a new collar for my pointer as the plastic clip had snapped. I bought a new collar yesterday which would be about an inch wide, it is adjusted to as small as it can go but it is still to big. Hopefully he will grow into it. I have never had this problem before.
  25. We went to a canvas works and had a seat cover made up out of canvas cost $100 but worth it we had hole put in for the head rest to slide into rather than straps and the plastic buckles that break. it is designed as a sling, doesnt sag in the middle has pockets on the side for leads and things and is so much better than the one that you buy it
