  1. There is a breeder of Cardigan corgi in near Hobart. She may have puppies soon. Got a Cardigan from her last year.
  2. I dont get were this everything must be saved mentality came from, if you breed dogs and mention culling your the worst person in the world. Today a video came through on facebook showing a puppy with no front legs dragging itself along the ground they were all saying how cute. Sooner or later somebody is going to do crowdfunding to buy it legs. When l was researching liver shunts came across a rescue organization that was prepared to spend 10k plus for a malumute that had a shunt. To me it would have made more sense to let the dog go so they can rescue other healthy dogs
  3. We have travelled backwards and forwards on the spirit, set up a crate in the caravan. You should be on the deck with the caravans. Have left the screen door open to let the air flow through, dogs have been fine.
  4. I have seen stories out of England where people have been walking there dogs on lead and are pushed over and they try to take the dog off you. Also in off lead situations where they bring a bitch in season in to the are, dog follows bitch, dog is taken. I don't know how you are supposed to protect yourself and your dog.
  5. This is demo of doing dogs nails http://susangarrettdogagility.com/2013/08/cutting-your-dogs-nails-how-important-is-it-really/
  6. I don't particularly care for greyhound racing, but what safeguards have they put in place to stop it from criminal gangs operating it. Banning something doesn't necessarily stop it. The government just had a big windfall just think how much they will get for the tracks when they are sold to developers.
  7. I have a corgi puppy that is a real bog snorkeler. Every time it rains the drains fill up he runs up and down the drain l don't think l have ever had a dog that is such a grub.
  8. Some Tasmanian councils haven't allowed dogs on ovals for years. It is to do with transfer of hydatite worm.
  9. Some different collars and leads other than the generic ones that petstock and petbarn carry. Toys, beds that aren't easily available here.
  10. This is the one that l donate to. It helps the indigenous communities. http://www.amrric.org/
  11. You could look at parts ofthe Bicentennial National Trial. http://www.bicentennialnationaltrail.com.au/

  14. I have had dog coats from caribu they have fitted and lasted. http://www.caribuhorsewear.com.au/dog-coats-and-dog-jackets/
  15. I have a pair of runners from one of the Bush walking store and they are about 18 months old still staying dry. Runner that l have bought from sports Store with goretex liner always leaked.
  16. Apparently Bob has really bad separation anxiety whenever l go out he starts to scream, he has always been a screamer. But over the last few months it is getting worse. If l go out and leave my partner Neville at home he screams, he doesn't scream whenever Neville goes out. I will start taking him to day care see if he screams there. He sleeps in a crate goes to bed at about 11 PM. He wakes between 4 and 5 o'clock in the morning to go outside, then he races down to the crawls into bed if he doesn't get his way he screams. I have never had a screamer before, he is causing a few problems because Neville has his own health issues to deal with.???? Bob has liver shunt that requires major surgery, l think he also has some brain damage, he is on medication for the shunt.
  17. Never had a real problem with drive for food. The two l have now would crawl into a trap for food.you need to find out what motivates them, l have put tracking, obedience, rally o jumping and endurance title on all of mine. Transferring to toys is harder the pup l have now will play tug, but unfortunately at this stage we are dealing with a health problem and the other is a rescue and is trying to figure out rules.
  18. Bupa have also started offering pet insurance.
  19. Bob still hasn't had surgery, he has had a CT scan took close to 1500 images. Hopefully we will have an answer in a day or two as to what the problem is. He now weighs 24 kg and is within 3/4 cm of his correct height. He is eating nearly a a kilo and half of food a day and still wants more. He has approx 4 to 600 gr of meat a day boiled barley oats and amarath 800 gr spread over 2 meals. Gradually taking his meat portion up to see where his tolerance is. He is everything that a liver shunt puppy isn't. Growing well, eating, not really sick.
  20. I was thinking about getting the chews and possibly the vegetables mix. Thought the kibble might be good for my treat and train. My puppy needs a low protein diet.
  21. Has anyone tried this watch and grow dog food http://watchandgrow.com.au/collections/raw-homemade-food-2
  22. Bob is going to be having an operation in a week or two to see if they can close the shunt, if the can't close it we have decided to let him go. I hope like hell it is accessible and can be closed. Bob is still growing and eating well. The shunt at least explains why he was having problems with puppy food.
  23. Bob is home from the vets. He has reorganized everybody.
  24. I 2 insurance policy one is accident only for Di, the other is full cover for Bonn the corgi neither policy has needed to be used. Wish that insurance cover could be transferred from one dog to another. What l would like is one insurance policy like people health insurance that could cover a family of dogs, up to 4 dogs. How many times do you have insurance that you don't use but have just in case. Normally if something goes wrong it's with one dog.????????
  25. We have a diagnosis, he has a portosystemic shunt hopefully it is on the outside. The vet is wanting to operate.???????????????? ????????????????????????
