  1. And one of Team sIBox Shame I can't run Bon this year!
  2. Very nice Emery! Your girls are looking great Well done Rubystar! Here is a pic of my pups at the sledding beginner day So glad the seasons starting again! (although It means I'm missing out on alot of dog shows!)
  3. Bondi my BYB boxer was $300 out of the paper- my 13th birthday pressie.. I was too impatient back then to wait for one from a breeder, and didnt know about health tests back then. Wolf my Sibe cost my boss $1200 I believe, but she gave him to me for nothing because of all the work I've put in with him, and he thought he was my dog anyway I'd expect to pay $1200+ for a well bred boxer, and no idea what sibes go for these days. (my sister brought a puppy out of the paper (bull arab) cost her $50, but in the first year of his life has cost her over $5000 in medical costs.. so it's not always the initial cost that's significant! I think she has learnt her lesson)
  4. I own a docked dog (Boxer), have never had anyone comment on it being cruel, just had alot of people lately commenting that it's nice to see one without a tail, as they see lots with tails now! I prefer them docked, and thing the tail can ruin the outline of some dogs (depending on how they carry their tail.. some boxers with tails seem to roach there back (maybe due to owners trying to hold tail).. some are fine) Like emery, I love my breed too much to be detered by tails- although I will miss seeing the boxers wiggling stumps!
  5. I think food names are great :D Not a fan of people names though. Don't like common names. A friend of mine has a dacshund named "Chip" (as in Chipolata.. sausage dog ) We have had dogs in at the kennels named Muffin, choco, porridge, peanut, sugar, toffee, milo, coffee. The list is endless. I've always wanted to have a "Latte" and "Mocha" and "Chino"
  6. Friday or sat Lisa? I'm showing wolfy at canine on friday night which sucks! Usually we are on at Kalamunda and I walk to the oval! lol it is just up the street from me.
  7. I have one dog at home (Boxer-bondi) and then one dog which I own that lives with my boss (sibe- Wolf) and then Rumour red husky which I show thinks she is mine Comes to obedience and sledding and shows with me. and then other dogs which I "borrow" for sledding :D But I tell people I have 1.5 dogs
  8. Just popping in to say that Trojan is fine :p We think it was all the lollies he ate (he broke in to the kitchen and ate a 1kg bag of jelly lollies) - that dog will eat anything!!
  9. My mums partner at the time had a Boxer pup. Mum said I could get my own dog for my 13th birthday, I could choose any medium/large breed. Went to a few shows and fell even more in love with the Boxer. Thankgod, because I nearly ended up with a Labrador! Boxer has been the perfect match for me, I cannot fault them at all. I will always have one (or more!) now, and I'm not sure I'd be able to live with another breed after owning the perfect dog!
  10. Fingers crossed for my sister and her Bull Arab Trojan tonight- she just had to rush him to the vets because his stomach is big and gassy. Vets gave him tablets to help pass the gas, and told her she would have to watch him tonight because there is a chance it will progress to bloat If that happens she will have to rush him the the vet hospital. I was just around there today and asked if she wanted Bondi's old raised food bowl to feed Trojan with He was fine this morning.
  11. I take my 2 sibes and a crate down to dog training. I mostly am working with Wolf my male, and as soon as he looses interest/focus on me he is put in the crate and I get the red bitch out to train (although she doesn't know hardly anything yet- she is really just there as encouragement for him). He used to carry on and try and eat his way out of the crate- but now he has learned he has to wait- so mostly he just watches keenly waiting for his turn again. The red girl waits calmly in her crate :p
  12. You can take some pics of my dogs Mason Your photos are always lovely.
  13. Shar Pei cross Cocker. Looked like a tiny shar pei with bigger ears
  14. Oh no I completely forgot about this! I was going to bring Bondi down to give it a go- her fave game is hide and seek
  15. A week after she got him he was diagnosed with a bone infection (or something along those lines) which was like a $3000 surgery, and now he isnt allowed to run or do a lot of exercise. He has had ear infections. ripped claws off, feet infections many times, He eats things he shouldn't (He swallowed a corn cob hole once, and he devoured all his anti-biotics from the vet in one go right out of their packet- I have never met a dog that actually likes the taste of anti-biotics!) and then he picks up things like kennel cough or gastro.
  16. Yep that is her dogs Vet! (Well, Vital vet I know is for sure, but the name Barry rings a bell too!) Trojan is her million dollar dog, she brought him for $50 and he has cost her thousands in vet bills - and her vet jokes that she is paying his mortgage
  17. My sister (who also lives in Ellenbrook) has just had her Bull Arab at the vets for allergies- which he doesn't usually get. Started off with an infection in his feet and now is put down to allergies So maybe there is something out that way setting them all of lately?
  18. Boxers, Bulldogs (english and french) .. all the pups with cute little wrinkles Oh and I agree with Parkeyre- Saint babies are adorable too!
  19. I am in love with a japanese spitz! Have the most gorgeous little jap spitz in at work named Kumo. I want one! If I ever get a little dog I know what I want! (oh.. and a French Bulldog of course!)
  20. "Ceasar style" walks are so relaxing Had my Psych. interview today for police- was so scary! The interviewer didn't think I was a confrontational person enough for them- so I had to try and prove I was.. and that I was old enough.. Will get a letter sent out soon, now I hope I pass physical on monday!
  21. You did the right thing Mason There is no way I would bring a dog home that impacted on my current dogs quality of life. I was lucky that Wolf and Bondi seemed to click right from the start, even though they were introduced as adults and Bondi can be picky.
