  1. Hi, bumping this old topic up again just because I am asking about Canidae - grain free. As some of you who uses Canidae Grain Free, they have recently change the ingredient and packaging 2-3 months ago. I've always feed my fur kids the Pure Sky. Before finishing the old ingredient, I've got a new small package one to slowly transition them over. I was doing the 80% old and 20% new, gradually increase the % of new and finishes of the old ones. It was ok all the while but their poo is much softer, sometimes too soft and I think they tend to poo more often. So since last weekend, they are completely 100% with the new ingredient. My big boy continues with his soft poo on and off (depending whenever I gave him liver, his poo is firmer). But my little girl suddenly has bouts of diarrhoea. Now I couldn't be sure if it's the kibble that is causing it but somehow when I feed her bland chicken breast for a day, she is fine but the moment I fed her a meal of Canidae kibble, her next poo session will be 2-3 times from normal to pudding. Just wondering if anyone is having any similar problem with their Canidae grain free?
  2. no spraying for ticks in the house? is it because they don't tend to live in there if it's empty? Just wondering... I am new to it.. from memory as we went to inspect only once, the garden seems flat with grass (well maintain), it's small because it's townhouse. But I think it has hedging.
  3. that's a good point. Though I watch them like a hawk.... not sure any rats around ... but a lot of birds definitely and they do poo on the grass a lot. Dogs loves to eat the poo.

    Diarrhoea

Hi all, this little girl of mine is having mild bouts of diarrhoea this morning. She poo twice at 3am (soft poo) and I fed her morning meal, chicken breast. And she poo again, very very soft poo and end with a little watery poo. I don't think she has eaten anything else then her own diet but the only additional food I've given her the past 2-3 days was raw beef. I was just wondering if I should be giving her Baycox? I do have some leftover from her bouts of few weeks diarrhoea when she was 3-4 months old. She was diagnosed with Coccidia. Seriously hope it's not returning! Now she is 8-9 months old. I will fast her for 12 hours before feeding her next and monitor her today.
  5. I see. Will be renting a place and would be flea bombing the house first. So thought to ask about tick bomb if it exist thanks, will look at permoxin. Would just be spraying the house. We don't have cats.
  6. Hi, I've searched the forum and I can find info about flea bomb - something like Mortein will do the trick.. I couldn't find anything about tick bomb, any idea?
  7. Thanks! Yes you did mentioned a bout willoughby vet. Thanks for that. Any specific vet in there that you prefer? Love all the tips you've given here! Am sure to his this thread to refer back when I get there.
  8. how much would you use to boil say.... by litre? 2 tablespoon of the tea leaves?
  9. I heard water melon is ok but not the seeds..
  10. for Vet, I've found these two nearby Chatswood from the http://www.ava.com.au Willoughby Vet Hospital Chatswood Vet Clinic Any good or bad recommendation about them or specific good vet bad vet?
  11. I saw a YouTube clip where this trainer trained the big puppy dog bite inhibition. The way he did it was to play with him as usual and when the puppy started to bite / mouth, he will give a loud no, fold his arms and turn his back then walk away. Come back few minutes later to repeat the same thing until the puppy gets it. Sometimes he won't say No but just fold his arms and turn his back, and slowly walks away. You can walk away from the room or his kennel or his play pen, which ever he is located at. A friend of mine did it and she got good results. It's all about consistency and practise it through the puppyhood. So be patience.
  12. oh that's good to know. My boy is a little bit more sensitive on skin so I might not want to get him into injection just yet. I'm happy to do monthly tablet.
  13. Thanks @Scottsmum for the link. I think I won't be getting them out to the park just yet. Perhaps at the cooler seasons. And yes will be having Advantix / Frontline all year round.
  14. alright we've selected a place in chatswood. So the best vet around the area? And tick paralysis?
  15. I read somewhere dogs giving us their back as a sense of respect... and giving us space... Could be Cesar Milan's
  16. out of curiosity ... I can find a few threads of Rose Geranium repelling ticks and insects but couldn't find any with test results... anyone tried? Also found some info in Google and seems like the people who uses it works on human and dogs to repel.
  17. Thank you so much for the effort in responding! This is very good information. Now we are able to plan our trip better. Advantix will only work on second dose? In that case will need to purchase it now Thanks!!
  18. They are not noise phobic but don't want them to be in the future. Thanks for letting me know. Definitely will keep this in mind
  19. Yes the rental did surprised me when I first started searching through Domain and RealEstate website! And so many rental places in inner west has since been taken up as we couldn't get someone to inspect the property during the Xmas season, so hopefully next week we could! I was hoping to get inner west area however looking at the furnitures and stuff that we will be transporting over, we might need a bigger house, hence Chatswood area or it's surrounding.. thanks
  20. flies? wow... so many insects to look out! I am getting paranoid ... I will google up Permoxin.. pardon my knowledge but this is new to me...
  21. thanks @minimax this is great information! I might use Advantix on them - few days before departure just to make sure they are covered and also will see how to go with the heart worm, visiting the vet mid Jan later. I am willing to travel around for vet if I am in inner west for a good vet. If I am Chatswood, would prefer good vet surrounding that area. I saw some replies saying Willoughby has a good vet..
  22. thanks @corinnew ! that's what I really need to know.. I don't want to overdose them with so many different types of meds. And also I am unsure if inner city has higher rate of ticks like the beach and bush areas. I did a search through the forum and seems a lot of ticks info in NSW that is frightening. But it's good to know that as long as they are indoor and not travelling to those areas..... won't be too infested with ticks.
  23. thanks for the tips yes they are good in car.. doesn't make much fuss and able to sleep too if tired.
  24. Thanks for that! Yes I nearly forgot about it. Will do once decided the place
