  1. He mentioned a name but I didn't catch it. He said could be the chemical reaction. I would guess its liquid? Initially the vet lady said it would be an eye drop but I think she might have struggled so resulted in oral.
  2. @persephone : Oh about the induced vomit, it's the vet that did it. She gave her an oral med to induced vomit. (Different vet in same clinic) It was a furry toy she swallowed. And yes, the vet caught a glimpse of it while struggling with her in few attempts to open her mouth. He thinks the induced vomit episode may have caused the ulcer, medication reaction given to her. If after the antibiotics, it's not improving he will perform the endorscope procedure. It was cavulox antibiotics for 2 weeks. Yes I will give the cheeky little girl soft food for now.
  3. oh I didn't explain clearly ... my bad. Yes I am giving her soft food and also do soften up her kibbles. But was testing her the dry kibbles to see if she is interested at it.. More so to know if she ok to swallow.
  4. Hi Erny, thanks for the tips. I just realised there is a difference between AMH and UMF. Will UMF helps? As I have the UMF +25 instead.
  5. we went to the vet the next day. Vet took a look, managed to caught a glimpse. Couldn't do much but gave us 2 weeks of antibiotic in hope it will recover. Else will have to perform endoscopy after that.... praying she will be well after the antibiotics. At the moment, she is still not quite interested with the kibbles, but will eat a little bit, one at a time. The ulcer has not (hopefully won't) gone worst, but can't see if it has improved. However, it's just the second day of the antibiotics. When she did a big yawn, I can actually see her inner throat is also affected all sides but not as red as shown in the photo. The photo was just one part where it's visible and it seems to be lumpy. She did gag once yesterday when she yawn. Edit: 5 days before I noticed her ulcer, she was given oral medication to induced vomit as she managed to swallow her fluffy wing toy whole. Luckily, she vomit that out. Thank God I saw it on time, it was missing just after a minute of her tearing it off her fluffy toy. Vet did mentioned it could be due to the reaction towards the medication, and could have been there all along but it got worst 5 days later for her to stop eating the kibbles.
  6. Hi all, I noticed my puppy has stop eating the kibbles last week (Tues / Wed) which she normally will scoff it all down. Just right after she vomitted that day after a run at our backyard on the evening and I noticed quite a lot of big chunk of dry grass and some dried leaves, and some sort of paper. She was gagging a bit at night before her dinner and I thought the incident earlier was still tickling her throat. Then, she started behaving that way towards her kibbles. She will take one kibble at a time or don't really want to eat it at all. She still eats her cooked chicken breast or raw beef, and some other dry treat (biscuits). That was last week and continues till today. I did noticed a change of colour on one side at the back of her throat the next day after the throwing up incident. Usually it is pink. Attached the link to the picture I've taken today >> Throat Ulcer? It is redder today. It actually gradually turn that red since last week. Also I noticed that when she yawns (opened her mouth really wide) I can see further behind her throat on the same side, the area leads further down, looks red too. I also managed to shoved my finger into the back of her throat to feel it. She didn't seem to be in great pain but I can feel that it seems like a bump. Perhaps it's swollen. I plan to call the vet for appointment tomorrow. But would like to get some idea if anyone has the same symptoms? I suspected that she might have hurt herself from throwing up all those rubbish especially the bunch of dried grass. Wonder if anyone know how or what to do? if any remedy will help? Perhaps the Manuka Honey? Other than not interested with the kibbles, she is not coughing or gagging any worst, still very active and playful. She eats chicken breast and raw beef happily. Updated: visited the vet the next day and given 2 weeks of antibiotics, then revisit for follow up
  7. Hi Jules, thanks for asking She is fine now. I've divided the medication in smaller portion and gives her in different timing for both the meds. She seems to be able to handle it better. As for the wound, it doesn't look inflamed anymore. medication helps .. She still wants to scratch her wound constantly so I had her on baby's mitten with a shoe lace tied on. Watching her like a hawk as she is able to pull of the mittens..... a bit tough at night
  8. oh yeah, haven't thought about that. Yes they do. Thanks much!
  9. @persephone , wanting to get your opinion. I think my girl has reaction to rimadyl... she is panting after consuming half of 20mg tablet, she is 4kg. is there anything I should be aware off ? my vet is close today so am very nervous...
  10. I just gave her first pill of rimadyl (pain Killer) & clavulox (antibiotics) and I think she may have reaction to rimadyl as she is panting now.... half tablet of 20mg rimadyl and she is 4kg she had clavulox without problem before and never panting like she has run through the backyard for a good 15 minutes... her panting has slow down a little bit..... Should I inform vet about the reaction and perhaps request for a change of pain killer?
  11. I put this toddler sock on her and tied both her hind leg. However one of it got loosen and she managed to scratch a bit her incision. Seems to be the middle part where it look more swollen is very sensitive and that's why it's bothering her. Because of her scratch it was bleeding a bit. Hope it hasn't done any damaged
  12. thank you @persephone ! Yes I must stop scaring myself! too much stress already Been occupying her with some new toys so she was having fun this morning. After a good 2 hours, she wants to settle down to sleep but gave whining sound because of her tummy and then fall asleep. But she will jumps up when it tickles her a bit. I nearly fall off my chair every single time... LOL hopefully all good
  13. I tried on mine, he will bark the whole hours we are out. Half an hour before I put few drops into his mouth and the water bottle has 4 drops just to continue.. He seems better as he is calmer when we are out, and throughout the time we went out. Try to train them by giving them prior and water bottle, and walk out for an hour for few times in a day... I think mentally they will be prepared for it later on.
  14. haha I did, and Google always has a lot of answers! Thanks for the info @Powerlegs !
  15. Yes, Stop looking at it. It's not unusual to have some swelling and oozing post-op. thanks
  16. by the way how does haematoma looks like?
  17. I did thought of that....! The only problem is to get the smallest size available - maybe a month's old toddler's socks... I have nothing available right now to use on her.. This girl is tiny for her size... She kept waking up in between her nap, then stand there to scratch right now.. I am watching her like a hawk
  18. thank you! I really could not sleep and trying to ask Google about it! She couldn't lay down on her tummy which is normal and I think she did try to scratch with her hind legs most of the time maybe feeling weird on her wound. I will continue to monitor and am really hoping that it will not ooze any huge amount of fluid other than just a bit wet...
  19. Hi ... just updating the progress... I don't know what else I can do but to hope for Lexie's wound to dry up and stop swelling the next day. It seems the wound is a bit wet and I do feel like it's opening up due to swelling. Stupid me for desexing today as tomorrow is Melbourne Cup day, thus they are not open. Links to photos below are quite graphic. When I got her back. Taken on her right side. There is a small wet wound in the middle but dried up later on. However, as reached midnight, seeing the swell, I think the wound opens up a little and it's wet again. Taken from same side as above. and from left side of her. I did get antibiotics and pain killer from the vet and to start tomorrow afternoon. She was given antibiotic injection during the operation too. I am panicking and do not know what I should do in the 24 hours. Also, I am worry she is able to scratch her wound with her hind legs!!! Any advice anyone? Should I get her check with another vet tomorrow if got worst or wait for the same vet? Or any way that I can dry it up?
  20. Hi Jules, Lexie was back from vet after 5pm and she is recovering from anaesthetic. I took a picture of her stitches the moment I reached home to monitor throughout. Here is it (https://www.dropbox....%2018.10.34.jpg) and taken on her right side. If you notice, at the middle is a little bit wet. But it dried up later.. However, at midnight I begin to see the wound swell a little bit more and the same place started to 'open up' a little and is wet again. I am panicking ! Picture (https://www.dropbox....%2000.01.30.jpg) taken at the the same right side and on the left side (https://www.dropbox....%2000.24.12.jpg). The vet is closed tomorrow as it's Melbourne Cup (smacking my head for picking today to desexed her!) I was given antibiotics and pain killer but only to start tomorrow afternoon. I don't know what to and hoping by tomorrow morning the swell will not get worst and the gap will stick together - dried up.
  21. Hi, This might have been asked in the thread before but couldn't find anything relevant after spending 30 minutes going through the search. I am sending my little girl with super energy for desexing today and just wanting to know how to avoid UTI after the surgery. I read about continence and UTI on desexed female, etc. So I am worried about it. Do you think I need cranberry powder on hand just incase or to put a little bit in her water bottle after surgery to avoid it is a good idea? Thanks
  22. why not install camera and record it to check? it's a prove as well?
  23. agreed. I think I won't be deworming her at the moment.. Too much going on and don't want her to start diarrhoea. Her deworming schedule should be this weekend together with the vaccination. I might do them both after the antibiotics course, hoping she won't have any bouts of diarrhoea, after. is Frontline ok for her?
  24. I do trust the vet as they are adamant that to get the puppy covered, we should be having her vac this weekend. I can understand that. But I told them that I am not comfortable having too many things pumping into a tiny puppy. So I have postponed the vac to 2 days after the next antibiotic course completed. I won't be deworming her till then too. I wonder if using Frontline on her is ok?
