I just wonder why some dogs love to eat tissue paper or any paper with the same textures, or newspapers. Snowy loves to eat it. Why ? My other old shih tzu Teddy, don't. Sometimes, so happened that I didn't see one tissue flew down on the floor, Snowy got it and plays with it before tearing it to pieces to eat. Will paper digest through if not consumed too much? Didn't see it in his poo though. No sign of constipation or discomfort. Just wondering...

Try www.clipperworld.com.au for the clippers. They are cheaper. -
I switch in between Inceptor and Sentinel, depending on if I use the Frontline Spot On or not. Get the tablet for small breed, chewable type. Edit to share the URL: Comparison of pet Med

just thought to share this youtube. Desperate Housedogs barking chi hua hua Edit: Just thought that the video shares about territory charging and barking dogs, etc. Human plays a big role too. Guests can ask for space by body gestures? Enjoy!

I just wonder does dog find smelly stinky poo interesting or the smelly non so stinky poo interesting? Am I confusing you? You know how when sometimes we have trully stinky poo that suffocates you and poo that stinks but won't suffocate you.. Same as dogs. I don't know if dogs plays with it because it really stinks or it doesn't stink so much and find something in there interesting..

Really? the smell of it or stain? I wonder if that is the only difference between Urine Free and Urine Off?
-
thanks, glad to know they are similar. I get confused by the talk about either of them and always wonder which one I've got :D
-
Hi, I wonder if anyone has the chance of using both the products and know if either one is better than the other? I have always use Urine Off and find it ok. And mine has recently finished. Wanting to get another but am looking for better option. I read a lot about Urine Free in this forum and wonder if they are the same? Same company? Same ingredients? Thanks

I'm sorry to hear it Hope everything is well -
I understand from breeder that the marking territory are basically learned behaviour... if that is true, then desexing might not solve the other pup?

Essential Oil Link I know some of the essential oils were discussed previously but I hope to get some opinion of using it? I can see the Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, Eucalyptus essential oils are the most common essential oils safe for dogs for soothing, calming, insects repel, etc? Any thoughts? Feeding A Raw Diet, Without Bones?
ChewieTAG replied to aussielover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I saw some article about the egg shell, haven't try that. thanks for digging out the ratio. I am expecting the antler to arrive next week, will give it a go and see how Snowy likes it. He is a swallower so am worry he will bite off a chunk of bones and swallow it whole without munching. I think if the bones I get is too big, he won't be able to munch on his hind teeth -

An antler isn't a bone Yeah it is not a bone. I mean to say I will look into bigger bones on my next shopping. I've bought antler yesterday, online, and will see how SNowy goes with it.. -

hmmm no idea why vet said so but she was very sure kibbles is much balance food. Will look into bigger bones. I bought the Antler online and will see if that is safe enough for Snowy to get on with it -
Feeding A Raw Diet, Without Bones?
ChewieTAG replied to aussielover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would like to share this experience on what my vet said about balance diet for dental care. I recently get Snowy desexed and had him for an overall check up. Vet saw how the tartar has build up in few of Snowy's teeth and asked what I am feeding him. I told him raw diet / human grade food and the vet was so against it. She was insisting that it is not a good choice and Snowy should be fed good premium kibbles so that there will not be any tartar build up . I asked about bones and she said it's ok if it is safe... And told us to start giving kibbles from then on. Vet cleanse Snowy's teeth when she desexed him. So everything looks good now .. I didn't change the diet (raw , human grade , biscuits) and I do feed Advance Puppy Kibbles in Snowy's diet. And I am slowly introducing some rawhide for him to chew on. Snowy is a swallow-er and giving bones is a no-no. He shocked me once when he swallowed the greenies whole! It just surprises me how vet was so against it and told me to change it right away. Then I did some googling and look what I've found http://rawfed.com/myths/damage.html (graphic image) Hmmm, so many mix messages!!!! -
Thanks @Rappie He is active like his usual self now. Was trying to do his usual zoomies in the house and I had to stop him from it. I guess he was just recuperating from the anaesthetic and surgery, plus lack of sleep at night because of the cone. Is it normal to have the hernia area - a hard bump around the stitches. I reckon it could be just the trauma of the surgery surrounding the tissue. Snowy is not hurting and it doesn't look swollen red. Don't see any pus either. He is not bother by it. He is not licking or scratching it. Attached some photos. One photo on side ways where you can see a slight bump and when I touch / press lightly on it, it's hard. Would probably call up the vet and ask too. If vet ask to drop by, will do that today.
-
Oh I let him out to play with his toys and walk around. He is confine in his play pen just incase and especially at night. His stitches still new so I am unsure how much he should be moving around as vet said no running around and so on. I think it's healing as not red or swollen... Not much concern at the moment as Snowy seems to be sleepy and thought it could be the clavulox. Might be recuperating.. I am being such a worrying mummy
-
On Wednesday. Probably recovering still. He has desexed surgery and hernia fix. Has stitches on him that is irritating him at the moment, but not licking or scratching. Confined in small area. He is quite sleepy than his usual self. Not sure if it's due to the clavulox tablets.
-
Hi, Snowy is prescribed with clavulox for prevention of any infection after surgery. Just want to know if it is drowsy? I tried Googling but not sure what to look for as nothing much said on clavulox for dogs is drowsy. Thanks

Bilious Vomiting Syndrome In Dogs
ChewieTAG replied to ChewieTAG's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
LOL of course I have not and so I have no idea .. Not sure what it will do to someone who was under anaesthetic but I bet he/she might be disoriented , hallucinating and having nightmares... Snowy stops his cries and whining at 2am. We did feed him small portions at 8pm, 10pm and then last 12pm. The total feeds are still lesser than his usual meal portion. He eats like usual, normal. He stops his cries at 2am but whine about the collar. We had to put him with collar so he doesn't moves much and tries to rub his face / body against the metal play pen. We confined him in playpen at the moment. Right after 2am, everyone has a good night sleep till Snowy wakes up at 5am. What a cry baby, love him so much. He is still very uncomfortable about his under, maybe sore and feeling weird. Other than that, he took his meal, water and peed. Now asleep. We all survived the first night and 9 more days to go! Hope everything goes well from here -
Bilious Vomiting Syndrome In Dogs
ChewieTAG replied to ChewieTAG's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
we are back from the desexed. Snowy is back with us but resting. He kept waking up in between and whine cries, then try to run off but fell down wobbling and rest back. I kept petting him back to sleep. Then he sleeps. We took him back at 4pm. He has a few things under surgery, hernia , desexed and baby tooth removal .. wow! Vet said she gave him two type of pain killer or pain killer with anaesthetic....All the drugs and medications will wear off after few hours to 24 hours. I was given antibiotics to be given to Snowy, half a tablet two times a day. I don't think I will be feeding him any time soon tonight till he is awake and feeling hungry. Is this normal for Snowy to whine and cries then rest after the procedure?
