  1. Haha. I assumed she would say something but she was closing up and there was still a woman waiting so she just forgot I guess. Will leave it on and see how it goes. Thanks for the help!
  2. Vet does open at 10 tomorrow, and I won't make it to the chemist unless its early. We don't have any crepe bandage or anything, only pressure ones which are no good. If it can wait we are all good! I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. He seems less fussed after a sleep, however Rosie is losing her mind with fear at the cone. Gus is so confused, poor loves! Piper the cone is amazing! Must be less jarring when he walks into things too, plus it folds back to eat and drink. Like magic!
  3. Hi all! So today Gus had the snip and a hystiocytoma taken off his back ankle and the nurse was under the pump and neglected to tell me whether I needed to change his ankle dressing at any point. She gave me the spey aftercare, which is fine but nothing was said about the leg. I'd imagine if it were me I'd change it pretty regularly, but is it something that should come off in a day or so? I've no idea. It's well after hours now and if I need to redress it I'll have to swing by a chemist before they open, so if anyone has any handy hints to share that would be lovely! I'll reward your time with sad cone of shame photos And too sad for bacon rind!!! Thanks all.
  4. I actually did the drive again last week! No ticks and lots of dog friendly spots! Lucky!
  5. I've been there, Aussie! Its so cool. Haha.
  6. You're probably right, but its still a kick in the pants, especially when its one of those dropkicks telling you how naughty your dog is. Haha. Would be nice to dole out head smacks, and not to the dog...
  7. Don't get me wrong, we aren't useless and in a lot of ways we are miles ahead but geez.
  8. I love the ones here. Get decked out and on your titanium, thousand dollar sports bike and ride the 2ks to the cafe, eat a massive breakie and sink a few coffees then the same back? Amazing! Haha.
  9. Hardly a sucky dog owner! Sometimes I see total dropkicks walking their dogs on a loose lead past other dogs without batting an eyelid (we still have no focus and a distraction threshold that's lower than a worms proverbials) and it really bugs me. If they can do it, why are we working so hard? Petty attitude, I know. But the guy next door has an American bulldog he bought at 5 weeks old from a guy at a garage sale, the mother bit her owner so bad he had huge scars on his arm but this dog is so quiet and when its out for its bimonthly walk its an angel. It lives outside in a shed and behind a piece a metre high of plywood held up by the bins. Is it wrong to get the shits sometimes? Gus has an excitement level that rivals a crack head and Rosie would be off and over the fence if we had plywood for a gate... Its petty but how do some people put in nothing and voilĂ , while us other suckers are slaving for the basics? Sigh. End rant! Haha.
  10. As an aside it just ticked past 8pm, no food or water for Gus in preparation for tomorrow. He is being especially moochy. I think he read the notes I scrawled while on the phone to the vet...
  11. She might well be going through a fear period of sorts, or gearing up for one. I think you did the right thing with the kid and is there a chance she's picking up on your worry about the dog on the beach? I don't blame her for not being keen. Other than well wishes I have nothing! That sucks! Gus got quite bossy with a golden last week, had a grumble and was being super overbearing and rude when this dog charged up behind him to play and obviously gave him a start. I totally feel your horror, but I'd be willing to bet its a passing thing for us both (with some work...)
  12. You'll have no luck on the country ones/vline but hope this helps. http://ptv.vic.gov.au/getting-around/luggage-bikes-and-animals/animals-on-public-transport/ However my tiny car is happy to assist! Haha.
  13. We don't treat them as kids, but we call them the kids/babies/monkeys and they're none of the above. I also call my niece peanut, but she's not a legume.
  14. Best wishes from us too! Please call out if you need anything!
  15. Cripes. I didn't know the dogs had to be muzzled on trains. Gus and I used to train back from puppy school. Yet another reason we don't touch PT anymore I guess! Will add it to the list.
  16. We do! Gus quite happily bundles up under the table waiting for dropped bacon. He's pretty unflappable and laps up any attention he gets. We've never had a problem! Rosie is another issue. She comes but would rather not chat to most people. She happily sits with her head on your lap and let's Gus lap up the lovin. I quite enjoy it, they don't mind either!
  17. What baffles me is why would you pick an -oodle over any other breed? They're just not for me, but so many other breeds they're composed of are.
  18. I saw that too. Disgusting! I hope not, but if it is I so hope the st Bernard is mum.... Let's hope its fake and doesn't catch on.
  19. Toilet roll with the ends plugged up? Less sharp....
  20. Yep! The one I got was much more rigid than those. I've run back to return the other one and tell them I won't be back (didn't return the toys. that would just be mean!)
  21. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/252691-online-dog-store-closure-heaps-of-bargains/ Not much left now, but I scored some puzzles to keep the goon quiet and some chewy things to keep Rosie from hanging off him.
  22. I just realised there's a few for sale on the Aussie Dog thread. CRUD. They look much better than what I got! I might get one of those and return the other one. There's a difference of $60 bucks there! Haha. Hopefully not too late for you to add one to your order!
