  1. No problems I thought you got her from a pet shop - sorry i miss understood. Females have a bit of discharge from time to time, i hardly notice it on my girl. The breeder should have noticed before she went home with you - ring them and ask them. Has she been at a vet yet? They also should have picked up on it.
  2. but.. she was bleeding?? If your girly parts looked like that, wouldnt you go and see someone?? I rushed my dog to the vets this morning, after being on DOL all night asking advice AND talking to my vet on the phone, for a cut on her foot - if her girly parts looked like that i would not have thought it normal?? If she came to you that way i would be asking the pet shop for a refund. One of the many reasons a dog should not be sold in pet shops
  3. OMG Vets!! She should have been the first time you saw this!!
  4. Sometimes, some times earlier or later I got kaos desexed at 4.5 months, because her mother went in when she was 5 months old. I am not a breeder, and have never had a bitch that was not desexed, soall i can say is take her to vet
  5. Im not saying anything - just sometimes pet shops will advertise dogs as a different age, so they can sell them. i havent seen the dog, so i dont know how old it is (and prob couldnt tell anyway!)
  6. if you are worried about ANYTHING, take the dogto the vet! It is better to be safe then sorry!! ETA: you got the dog from a pet shop, didnt you? Are you sure of her age?
  7. Oh good, im not the only sstressed out owner!! I am off to pick Kaos up in an hour, after her day at the vets hope your boy is ok!
  8. I just came to post the same thing They must be related ;)
  9. On Nurto at the moment, and nurtience (had some left over!) Seems to be going good, so will stick to this, but if broke i do go and get a cheaper food for them they get raw meat (roo, beef, lamb, chicken) also if broke they get the offcuts for a few nights Feed canned food whenever Atlas eats something he shouldnt, gives him the runs a bit, to help it come out the other end!
  10. no problems!! if i left buckets with Atlas he would end up spending ALL his time at the vets!! :D

I cant help - Kaos talks back to me all the time - i say no and she tells me where to go, but she has never tired to keep doing what ever it was she was doing!! Good luck
  12. *sigh* I knew it was too good to be ture when you said you were not going to post in here anymore
  13. TD i dont allow them to have the container. Sometimes the ice falls out when tipped upside down, other times i just soak the container in the dogs water dish, it melts enough to come out - I would have no containers left if i let the dogs have them!!
  14. Please, please, please! tell me, when or where have I said that training in drive would be the solution for separation anxiety?Separation anxiety is a behavioural problem, that must be dealt accordingly, different training techniques must be employed in this case. A dog behaviourist might be able to shed some light on how to deal with it... but I have never said training in drive is the solution do S.A. I have said however, that training in drive would work with any dog. All you have to do is find the right drive to train the dog in. I might be wrong, so please correct me if that is the case. But behaviour problems are a totally different set of training issues that might need different training technique. I've had it. :D
  15. Bull Terrier - 1.5 Cups Nurto a day Stafford 2 Cups Nurto a day ALSO get a big bone a week, some chicken (wings or something) And some sardines (all only once a week on different days) Usually fast on Sundays, i do training sunday mornings, so they get PLENTY of treats there!
  16. So when my 10 year old dog gets sick in the head and isnt himself, i should just PTS? Who cares that he is still happy and healthy, but a bit silly? For someone who has owned a lot of dogs, you know shit about them
  17. Sunny - he doenst need gates! His dog stays at home without needing fences
  18. It is heart breaking - unless you have owned a dog that has been through this, you have no idea how hard it is! My boy was THE best dog, but seeing him go through that nearly killed us all Then i get people telling me that he has Sep Anxiety because he wasnt trained
  19. OMG I was owned by a wonderful dog, he was 14 when PTS - the last few years of his life he had Sep Anxiety. How dare you tell me that i didnt train this dog. I have been called home from work for neighbours who have heard him screaming, only to find him STUCK in the fence - The gap was about 10cms and he tried to get through it, I have seen him GO THROUGH a glass door to get inside. I have seen the injuries he has had from trying to jump the fence that we built higher and higher and higher. This was a dog that could be let off lead in any place and not leave your side, The gate blew open and he sat in the yard waiting for someone to come and get him. My 18 month Stafford also has a touch of it, if we leave her alone inthe yard, without the other dog, she will do anything to get out - she has hurt herself a few times, but as of yet has not gotten out. I am now taking the other dog out of the yard so she learns that she can stay there and things will be ok - But god only knows what i will do if Atlas has to go to the vets for a few days. No way she could stay home all day alone while i am at work. Seeing you are so great at all of this. I am sure there are a lot of DOLers who would LOVE you to come and 'train' their dogs so they dont run away. you are an idiot and know nothing about training. You have trained ONE dog in 20 years, WOW. dont get me wrong, i have only had 5 dogs, i had a hand in training 3 of them, and fully trained the other 2 that are mine. I am NOT an expert, but unlike you, i dont come here and talk about shit that i know nothing about!
  20. Dont wish that, his dog will prob come and save him anyway, he is that well trained.
  21. Well, if you choose to have a beagle, working dog, or a high drive dog, then yes, you have to train it in drive. I wonder how many police, customs, rescue dogs run away... also, I my point is that you should train your dog... further than sits, stays, etc... and YES, the way I see it, if your dog sits on command, but yet at the first oportunity it will run away, then yes, you are a bad owner because:1.- You have failed to secure the dog 2.- You have failed to satifsy the dog drives 3.- You have failed to train you dog propery It is called responsible dog ownership... if you can't train a beagle, then don't own one! WTF?? My god, i really cant believe you are STILL going on with this shit? How do you think those who have lost dogs feel when you say bullshit like this? have a LITTLE respect for them! My dogs would bolt the second they got the chance to. I actually do not know one dog that would not run off. What training did you do? what studies have you read? I am very interested where all this shit you are talking is coming from? Maybe you should go and spend some time with your dog, build up his drive training (oh, BTW, i dont train in drive - not a lot of people do - so i guess i am an even worse owner then most?) istead of sitting here pissing people of. ALSO - DO NOT comment on a breed you have never owned - i have helped train a beagle and know how much effort is required just to get their nose of the ground. then again, you seem to be doing a GREAT job of talking about crap you know nothing about. So why would this be an different?
