  1. well, i dont know if i can believe that... you might have to show me some photos to prove it
  2. argh, wish i didnt come in here! Bella my cat is 10 this year, and it has just been the last few months that she has started to look old, not gray at all, just old... Dad mentioned it to me the other day and I had to walk away, thought i was going to burst into tears! Atlas is 8 this year, he has bad arthritis in his front paws and is really 'old' but, not one gray hair on him! Until you see hm walk, you dont know he is getting older - he is also getting the usually bully bumps, few skin tags on his face, his ears have lumps all over them now, one big growth on his side and some on his feet... (all checked out by vets and all ok) From Them two I have Fanta who is 7 this year, and Kaos who is 6 and baby Sumo who is 3 at the end of the year - the 4 older ones are all to close in age for me, the thought of any of them leaving me makes me sick So, i enjoy them for who they are, Atlas and i go for a S L O W walk around the block once a week, it is all he can handle now, then when we come home, i soak his feet and give him a yummy bone... The cats get more cuddle time, and i find myself telling Sumo off for annoying them all the time (poor Sumo!) I dont want them to get old... but I am so lucky I have had them for all these years Bella has been with me through some very very hard times, I owned her when I was still living at home with mum and dad, and before my brother died. they all make me very happy, and when i start to think of them all getting older, i have to make myself think of something else ;)
  3. I got home from Tamworth last night and been looking around trying to find updates she messaged me the other day, she got out and had all the dogs and 3 cats (and no litter trays) in the back of the car, no where to go I have not heard from her since, but someone she knows posted on Facebook this morning: not sure how right the info is - i thought a DOLer had the babies? I have SMSed her, but no reply ;)
  4. I think the perfect time for a 2nd dog is when the first dog is trained to your standards. I got Kaos when Atlas was 18 months (ish) he was in the top class at obedience, good with other dogs, not jumping all over people anymore, so i was happy to get a second dog
  5. She just sent me a message, they are out with dogs and cats, no idea what happened to the house. They are stuck with the dogs and 3 cats... And no litter trays
  6. Im heading off to tamworth now, Gabby has posted her phone number, so probably easier if you contact her direct, or Dust Angel (she is at work this morning) Thanks everyone for the help
  7. Fantastic work!! Thank you so much once again, good luck with the bubs, hope they are not too much of a handful!
  8. Also just posting here so you see it, if you have something for the pups - i would be able to take a male dog to care for if you need it - good with other dogs if possible and crate trained. (Kaos wont allow another bitch into the house but they are both fine with males being around, just as long as they are crated and not running together!) Im off to bed, i cant think straight and have to leave here early tomorrow for Tamworth Stay safe and dry and let us know as soon as you can when you are out of there and settled. and a huge thank you to the girls who are heading there and taking the puppies, have a safe tripo
  9. my offer still stands to take the pups if needed (might have to borrow some puppy pens.. i have nothing here for puppies!) , i am leaving for Tamworth tomorrow and wont be home till sunday afternoon (I wasnt going to go to Tamworth, but Dust Angel has talked me into it - i feel bad, but not sure there is anything i can do to help if I head down there? My car is playing up and I have no other way to get to DAs place, so that means she will have to drive an extra 5 hours or so to get me first - feeling really bad about not being able to help more ) I really wish there was more I could do, but just live too far away Take care and keep safe and you have my number if needed (and i posted the kennels numbers on your facebook wall)
  10. Contact PACERS - they might like them to keep on hand?
  11. you can use the money i gave you for whatever is needed
  12. I know, i have 5 here as well as 3 cat ones, but i live way too far away We have 2 people on facebook now who may be able to help, Dust Angel is on the phone to Gabby now, so fingers crossed something can be worked out
  13. i dont want to give out her number without her ok - and at the moment she isnt answering me - but i just rang the Echuca kennels, he was a bit annoyed (as would i be if i was at a kennel and had someone ring me this late) they may beable to take one or two dogs tomorrow, but BD has to ring them tomorrow if she is able.
  14. Hi guys Is there anyone in the Kerang region who can help out? Bulldust needs 6 crates that will fit adult bull terriers in, they need to move these dogs ASAP to higher ground. If there is anyone who can help, or anyone who can get crates to Echuca please post on here so we can try to work something out ASAP Thanks.
  15. I have pmed you sb, pet barn there are great!! Just has a huge chat to the manager and they are so helpful!!
  16. FFS, i have just been called into work - will try to sort this out today so things can be picked up - Im a bit lost - food or collars and leads? What is needed where you are going SB?
  17. SB, can you pm me pet barns number they now know you? If i do an order tomorrow, they will know what it is all for? (want to pm me your real name, so i can say who is picking the stuff up? ) so is it just dog and cat food you need from PB? If i get a few 20kg bags of bonnie (or pedigree?) and some big bags of Whiskas will that be ok? I dont normally get these brands, but figure they need a lot of food, and not one bag of good expensive stuff!
  18. Pet Barn are also taking donations. $2, $5 or $10, just go in and see one of the staff, money to the QLD RSPCA
  19. where are you leaving from? ETA: its ok, i read your post 10 times and swear you didnt post where you are leaving from, just looked again.. and there it is!
  20. I have had SBTs in my life since i was 8, when i moved out, it was a matter of when not if, i was going to get one. Kaos is crazy, loony, drives me mad, but god she makes me laugh, She is happy all the time and has that stupid smile or some crazy look on her face at all times! I think the SBT is the most attractive dog out there. As for Bull Terriers, I fell in love with their looks before I knew anything about them. Once I started reading up on them and seeing how crazy and funny and pig headed they are, i knew I needed one in my life ASAP! I love strong, solid dogs (and cats actually, Sumo fits into that as well!) and think they are stunning While I want a DDB next, I know I will always have SBT and BT
  21. Thought I would post this here, a friend contacted me on facebook to share this with me: Hey Cin, if you know anyone that has animals that need temporary shelter (not live stock, but domestic pets) the university I work for up in Rockhampton, CQUniversity, has a temporary animal shelter set up. The uni has the Local Disaster Coordination Centre operating out of it's sports centre and the RSPCA have set up shelters on the sports fields. Their number is 1300 652 659. I'm not 100% of how the arrangements work but they'll be able to help everyone out.
  22. Im being good.. I have floorboards i have to pay for next week and a broken down car... depending on that... i might go shopping after
