I have both dogs sleep on my bed ... A Kelpie and a Cavalier , although sometimes I wonder whether they think it's their bed , I have about a 1/4 and they have the rest :laugh:

Lacey was bathed 2 weeks ago and i only bath her every couple of months so that's ok :) Thanks for the tips ... I feel like a new dog owner ! Never having to deal with fleas before lol.

I ended up getting Advantage :) so they have been treated and everything washed... Had another check today but found no more fleas but found flea dirt so there must be more somewhere, but hopefully now the little suckers will die and get no more fleas!

Tonight I found a flea on Lacey :/ I checked both dogs and only found one flea and flea dirt on Lacey, tomorrow I will go and get something to treat them. Last week I both gave them their monthly Interceptor chew so would it be too much if I gave them Advocate as well? Or should I just get something to treat the fleas? My dogs have never had fleas before so I have never treated them for fleas .

Lacey's favourite toy is a little stuffed donkey I bought from Petstock .. I bought it when she had her op so she has a real attachment to it :) sometimes Sasha will nick off with it when Lacey isn't watching and Lacey will get it back... it's funny to watch , oh and his name is Eeore :D It's the one in my avatar .. Doesn't look much like a donkey but the mane/hair bit is hidden :)

My Kelpie is ball obsessed and is very fussy when it comes to balls ... She only likes tennis balls, I have bought her numerous balls and she just turns her nose up at them all.... I have tried the Cuz ball, the Kong but nope .

My next dog is going to be another Dachsund .. I had one many years ago, so I keep browsing the Dachsund Rescue Australia website ... I don't know why I look because it will be a few years before I get one :laugh:

Frank is gorgeous I had a long -hair miniature daschund and he lived to 17 :) I have decided to get another one later on down the track. You will be totally smitten (probably already are) and he will wrap you around his paws :laugh: Kanae I imagine the next few weeks will go very slow! Waffles is very cute!

I wonder why I was told Lacey could have access to water.. Maybe it depends on the time the operation is .

When my Cav had a dental recently they said no food after midnight.. She had a morning appointment too. They said she can drink as normal but no food.

I would love to have a black greyhound.. They are stunning! But for now it will only have to be a dream

When my ex and I separated and divorced I moved in to a share house situation so I had to leave the 2 dogs with the ex... We both loved them dearly and we did the right thing by keeping them together.. I didn't didn't want to upset their routine by separating them , we also halved the cost if they had to go to the vet ... They both lived to about 17 within weeks of each other :)

I had to take Sasha to the vet on Tuesday because this time every year she gets eye allergies ... She has very short eyelashes so when it's a windy day stuff gets in her eye :/

I would never leave my dogs unsupervised with bones .. So many things could go wrong :/

I brush my dogs teeth every day .. I also use a plaque remover in their water similar to what Jules uses. After about a week or so of brushing and them drinking the water they now have nice pearly whites :)

I knew someone who had an obese chihuahua and the owner admitted that she gave her too many treats but she said she is old now anyway so I don't want to deprive her of a few treats.... Amazing that the dog passed away at 14 with no health problems that I knew of. My Kelpie is a working line Kelpie so she is quite slim but very muscular.... She is currently 15.5kg but at one stage she was about 16.5kg and it was noticeable . My Cavalier is a little piggy so i have to adjust her intake depending on what extra treat she has had, she had surgery for a Luxating Patella and she lost weight after the surgery even though she had no exercise but I just adjusted the food she would have normally got.My vet is happy with their current weight.. he will honestly tell me if I need to change the way they are fed or up their exercise :) When I see an overweight dog I don't judge ... Who knows it could have medical issues.
