If you want pre-programmed get yourself a Winpara BC .
-
Ptolomy - wonder why that is the case.
-
- fair enough.
-
Yeah your really difficult LP - not going to answer you again. I just use eagle pack seems to be fine for throwing (or maybe my starved girl is just good at catching).
-
should try the steamed baby carrots on miss fatty.
-
Raw chunks of sweet potato for example. Chunks of fruit. (If you want healthy). Otherwise there all the other treats that can be cut to throwable size. I tend to use 4-legs if I want throwable sized treats which a healthy.
-
Why does it have to be kibble LP????? Plenty of other treats that are throwable sized and easy to get hold of.
-
I don't have a specific day thing either but they get a mix of: Beef soup bones (for the fatty girl so she has something that takes a while to eat but not very meaty) Lamb forequarter bits Turkey wings Turkey drumsticks Chicken necks Lamb off cuts Chicken frames Lamb shanks (special treat as I picked some up cheap on the weekend) Tuna Sardines tinned Mince when I have mince in. Kenzie also gets more dry food thrown in as she takes forever to eat the raw.
-
How would training treats factor into that weekly menu laffi???
-
Have PMd you LP so as to not to dominate Kaviks thread.
-
Cortisone is known to stimulate appetite but its a short lived drug in the system. Don't think it can have a permanent effect. I was only sugggesting that maybe working for each bit of food with a dog who isn't food driven isn't the solution the problem. Probably not explained very well.
-
Actually not sure Kavik is that far away. Kenzie hasn't much food drive either and will only eat one meal out of every 2-3. Not feeding her doesn't make her any hungrier either. I am sure if you released yours to eat the food though Laffi they would. Kenzie just walks away from it and isn't interested in eating.
-
Just watch you don't create the problem I am having with my picky girl. At breakfast the other morning the only way I could get her to eat the food is if we trained for it and I used it as a reward . I had the whole bowl down on the ground in front of her and she would only eat a bit if I asked her for a behavior and then gave the bridge word . Didn't change the food I was using at all but the minute I was offering to her after asking for a behavior it went down pretty quick smart until I finished training and then she wasn't interested in the rest.

Titre Testing South Australia
ness replied to shepherdpower's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A friend did get it done at the holistic vet clinic but I think they have since closed down. -
The whole dog snob thing must be a BC thing. My older girl was less so as a baby but now is completely. My younger one is also a dog snob on the whole especially if she thinks there is a game to be had from me. I will regularly take them to places like the beach where there are plenty of other dogs and while the younger one will harass the older one they pay very little attention to the other dogs in the environment.

Titre Testing South Australia

Not going to help on the titre testing but one of the obedience clubs I go to in Adelaide will accept titres in place of vaccination certificates now . -
- good one Ptolomy. Actually if she only wants to make an obedience jump though she would only need 2 cups so it might not be that expensive. We paid $15 each in PVC for our jumps from Bunnings (certainly not the cheapest place) although last time we made 4 jumps for $30 so we think they had it wrong.
-
Overseas is where we bought ours from. You can make them out of PVC t sections but they are a bugger. Maybe look at making a timber jump. ETA. That jump plan looks ok - they don't have PVC jump cups. You could probably use something like a bracket to rest the jump cup on. http://members.peak.org/~helix/Agility/cheapjump.html http://members.peak.org/~helix/Agility/ - they have two sorts of jumps we have the one with the 2 bars.
-
Yep buying the jump cups . Although you could probably buy the jumps too .
-
hmm yeah I have the plans on my laptop for PVC ones although the jump cups are a bugger if you don't have any already. You can buy them online but they are pricey.
-
We made our bar jumps out of PVC. Still yet to make a proper solid jump so usually just train with 2 bars - 1 with a sheet covering it to make a solid .
-
Interesting DJ is something I never had an issue with until we started trialling . Hmmm will think about the gloves and wait to see if Ptolomy answers first.
-
LP - the littering the ground with items was Ptolomy's idea and besides I am to lazy to clean up the yard before I train . I had a similar issue with the gloves LP and Sue guru helped me out with that . Well actually I think it was a Sue guru/Ptolomy guru joint effort .
-
Nah Rubystar Ness use to be the same and she was flogged to hard to early . Not going to make the same mistake with Kenzie and she is just a feral wild child . Although probably a fraction spoilt .
-
Congratulations on Ruby's scent and sendaways . Got to get the old girl back out of the holiday mode and start flogging some gloves tomorrow since directed retrieving has always been a bit of a weakness.
