  1. Man maybe I need to order 2 of the smaller ones too. Kenzie loves sitting there squeaking them at me . Yes Ptolomy run away and play with your squeaky toys.
  2. Awww thanks laffi - us CR addicts need major help pruning our lists .
  3. Ptolomy sure does have an i-squeak addition. So hows the 101 things to do with an i-squeak video coming  . Man does anybody else have the problem of buying a "spare" of a favourite toy. Kenzie is mad for her jolly ball but I am sitting hear thinking maybe I need a replacement one cos I won't be popular if anything should happen to the aforementioned jolly ball.
  4. My name is Ness and I am going to personally have to murder laffi and leopuppy - really enough is enough and I better put a stop to it quick smart  .
  5. SD - did I save you some money hahahaha.
  6. I have read that special issue of the CR mag and I have to say I didn't find it overly good or useful or pick up anything from reading it.
  7. I think its pretty common place that most of the triallers in WA don't actually train their trialling dogs in class at a club. Just speaking from the people who I know they use the clubs as a place to train with distractions but never consider putting there dogs into classes other than for that purpose. So there new dogs would never learn the exercises in a class context.
  8. I just decided to not bother putting my youngster into obedience classes until this year. She is now a few days short of 11 months old. Having said that I have at the beginning of this year joined a pet dog training club. We are in their top class but its not structured the same way as a traditional obedience class. The dogs have mats to sit on when you are listening to instruction and I will release mine to her mat when we have finished a particular task. There is usually a small heelwork task but the rest is tricks and other things. Class runs for about 45 minutes. I guess I am aware to not drill her and I'll regularly send her to her mat for a break after having done an exercise. She is getting good practice at having an on/off switch. I would say a 1 hour old style class with lots of block heelwork would be sure fire way to switch the dog off but I wouldn't necessarily say a 1 hour class is the issue.
  9. Don't encourage me laffi - off to go shopping .
  10. Sure is Ptolomy - still waiting for it to arrive .
  11. Kavik about having your next dog will tug. Hmm yep thats why my pup was playing tuggy with me whenever we were out and about from the moment she arrived home . Actually it did help she came off the plane a born tugger too and it was one of the things her breeder encourages all the babies to do.
  12. You can also throw the ball to the dog and have them catch it. What about one of those tennis ball tugs on a rope if he likes tennis balls.
  13. Yep tennis balls wear the teeth down . I use rubber chuckit type balls when I train. Also I would advise everything in moderation after being given a lecture by my girls chiro about ball playing. So yes use it as a reward but I wouldn't recommend using it all the time and make sure the dog is thoroughly warmed up. ETA. Here is a link of my girl playing the two toy game using her i-squeaks (can easily incorporate training into it). First part of the video is using food by then I switch to toys.
  14. Luke W - do I say ner ner ner I have pretty much all of those except for two already .
  15. I know LP LOOOOOVVEES helping people spend far too much money . Although I am probably not much better.
  16. What was emphasized on the SG DVD was not so much the method - i.e. single or double but rather that the dog maintained a consistent style throughout the weavers and wasn't switching.
  17. Your the most addicted LP  . Hey who said I was buying anything anyway. And I agree LP I think Ptolomy has a weird fetish for i-squeaks and they are all for her .
  18. Ok am I the only one who doesn't subscribe to Clean Run mag and should I LOL.
  19. Gotta wait for the release of that DVD laffi so might have to be end of next week.
  20. Ptolomy - now that would be a sensible idea wouldn't it. Maybe post on there yahoogroup  .
  21. Yeah we probably would just about LP  . Ok I have to get some small i-squeaks its decided.
  22. Well I have the orbee on a rope and the rope doesn't last. The orbee bit is durable though. If you wanted a ball for fetching I'd get an orbee medium size with no rope  although depends if they try and tug. I have just had to replace the rope on my small orbee - didn't last long at all. I have a medium one too but its too big for Kenzie. No I don't own every single toy that clean run stock - well not yet . Small cuz toys are great for training toys.
