  1. Holy wow, I need to go to Costco, I've heard really good things about Kirklands!
  2. Oh wow, I groomed Coco when he was still in rescue! He was GORGEOUS. Well done on looking after him in his twilight years, and take care of yourselves xx
  3. I'm using Pet Esthe mud on my boy at the moment. So silky and shiny... Smells amazing...
  4. Sorry for not answering - I have no idea why he does it. Maybe because he's excited? It's a recent thing, since becoming single and starting the business I'm busy all the time and spend nowhere near enough time with the dogs. It's at the point where I dread walking him, he YELPS the entire time. So loudly that people across the road can hear him! The two of them are acting pretty badly, and it's entirely my fault. They squabble and I've had to keep them separate a lot recently. My housemate has had a fair few pet sitting clients recently and it's negatively affected both of them. On top of that, we've just been given notice to move out so I'm FREAKING lol. Good times. I don't know what to do. Ugh. Rant over. Sorry.
  5. Can you leave him in a garage or something during the day? Or to a relative's house?
  6. Has anyone got any experience with dogs that scream a lot while being walked? Ru is SO LOUD
  7. He was so beautiful, I'm so sorry x
  8. Good luck! I adore my Cav, he's bought so much joy into mine and Scooter's lives.
  9. My heart goes out to you My 2 year old is looking at his second surgery... Take care of yourself x
  10. I've heard of this happening in VIC three times. At the place I groom, a previous groomer stole the entire client database (vet clinic) and opened a shop very close by. The manager of the PETStock across the road from us told me ithad just happened to them too! WTF is WRONG with people?! I've had clients follow me, but I never tell them when I'm moving on as I find it highly unethical. But hey, a dollar is a dollar at the end of the day for some people, I guess...
  11. Good kids Jake and Stella! :D Gold stars to both of you and your mummies xx
  12. I agree totally with Snook. I would be concerned if my dogs were afraid of anyone TBH, especially if they'd worked well with them in the past. Don't be scared to bring it up with your trainer - this is YOUR dog, and you need to make sure you're both comfortable. Justice looks so little in that picture! Awww I loves him. You guys are an amazing team. Things are going well with Scooter, he had a proper training session with me today and was responding really snappily! The consult with Cosmolo has really improved MY communication with both my dogs, and Scooter is much more willing to look to me for guidance and attention than he ever has! His aggression with Rudy has toned down, and I've even got my housemate (mostly) on board. Woohoo!
  13. So did I, Tralee. The story has been shared multiple times among the Facebook grooming groups I'm a member of, the only difference is now the place is being named and shamed (and it's truly disgusting how many people are not surprised or have had negative experiences themselves). I would urge groomers to PLEASE not try to promote themselves (ie "we never do that at my salon xxx in xxx") because it only cheapens Buddy's memory. I've seen this 3 separate times on different FB posts and to be honest it makes me feel a bit sick
  14. You've chosen one of THE highest demand rental areas of VIC and also one where most people with pets lie and say they don't have them (worked there in the pet industry for a couple of years). Good luck. I would definitely be looking further out, ESPECIALLY with a large breed dog. I have 2 small dogs (was 1 when I was looking in the area - he weighed 3kg) and found it nigh on impossible to find a place. You might be lucky if you look for a share with another dog-owner that owns a house in the area but even they are rare as hen's teeth.
  15. Well, they came to us, but yes! Thank god! I cannot sing Cos' praises highly enough. She actually liked Scootie :D and gave us a bunch of strategies to work on. She also said he doesn't need drugs - yay! So a whole bunch of training and another leg op are coming up. Poor thing won't know what hit him!
  16. We have totally found our trainer :D So happy right now. Scooter's been so good tonight! And I've been behaving too haha.
  17. Thanks Corvus :) Hankdog, yep, I think Scooter defo needs meds! His back is really good now, it's just his leg giving him trouble all the time. I'm glad Jake has improved enough for you to consider taking him off! You must be so happy! Curiously, after the walk he started barking like an idiot again and was really on guard until I went to bed. Sigh. A huge walk is meant to TIRE you, not wind you up! Stop being so broken, little man.
  18. Noodle went for a big long walk today and was so happy about it. When we got back to the car he refused to walk close to it (he's been doing this for months) so instead of going back and picking him up like I normally do, I got in the car - he leapt into my lap before I closed the door LOL! So that's one problem solved! Underdog this Thursday fingers crossed... I think once he's finally on pills (I don't want to pay $600 to get the ok from a vet behaviorist when I already know he needs them ) he'll be a completely different dog - than his other leg op and HOPEFULLY he'll be much much happier!
  19. How much do pups tend to be sold for? The same as poodles? :)
  20. Typical Cav brain! The only obedience you really need is a solid stay, but it'd be worth your while to do some basic so he can learn to work under distraction and learn to be reliable off-lead.
  21. Gooo Kenzie! Teekay, I'm a bit late to the party, but let me just say, if I'd blindly followed the first behaviourist I'd seen about Scooter, he'd be a year dead He's still kicking, and with a lot of soul searching and disappointment, we are finally starting to see the light. Please listen to yourself, and your dog, first. Things will get better, promise :) Scootie is almost at the point where he can be walked again. Poop! He's definitely more relaxed than before, but we've got a loooong way to go, and I'm so hesitant to walk him. Guess I'm going to have to start getting up at 5am...
  22. One of mine is 10 this year and he knows some basic agility stuff. It's never too late, IMO, I'm actually finding it easier to train my 1 year old Cav in foundation than I did my puppy. He's a lot more settled. The good thing about older dogs is that there's no pressure, you can make mistakes without freaking out, and the relationship is already there. Definitely do it!
  23. You're such a gorgeous girl, Miss Lucy :) Happy gotcha day, and big hugs to your amazing mummy! Xx
