  1. This is last year I think, I can't find anything realeased for this year yet, but it has a few ideas on it. https://sitedesq.imgstg.com/customdata/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_image_listing&CategoryID=11487&itemLayout=1&headerselector=3&OrgID=195&dts=1511201025813
  2. The postage is free - you just have to pay for the postage box, which is only a few dollars from memory. I sent out about 8 boxes last year, 4 filled with dog toys and 4 for the troops - Just remember you have to fill in a customs form so if you are sending a few boxes is easier to grab the forms in advance so you can fill them out at home. I didn't realise, so was at the post office for ages filling in 8 forms!
  3. Im always missing them, or hearing about them the day of, or after when its too late. It would be good if there was one website that listing all the events, and kept it updated.
  4. Week 43/52 - Riley by shellandriley, on Flickr And a bonus one this week, titled " Mr Serious " Mr Serious by shellandriley, on Flickr
  5. When we used to live in a house that backed onto the bush at one stage, and Riley would come inside and I could see the ticks crawling on him. I used to use frontline every 2 weeks, and have a tick collar on him as well. I found the tick collar worked well with the frontline. Now we aren't so close to the bush I just use the frontline.
  6. Congrats! We have our first bub due in December. We've set up the babys room and let Riley (our 10 yr old kelpie x) go in there and have a look around. I was also going to send home a blanket or something of the baby's from the hospital for OH to give to Riley so he got the smell. Not sure if its a silly idea or not, but my mum gave him my old pyjama top when I went overseas for a few weeks last year and Riley took it everywhere and slept with it A big thing for us is just to make sure Riley doesn't get left out. He's a massive part of our live and it will stay that way. Luckily he's been around my cousins and niece too so he's used to babys and kids being around. I think he's going to love having me home more often!
  7. I used to work for a fencing company and heard quite a few stories of dogs being choked to death by their collars getting stuck on pool fence pickets. Riley wears a breakaway collar only. It means he can still have his ID tag on, but I don't have the worry of him getting stuck anywhere. Although its a pain in the butt when you try and grab him quickly if someones at the door etc and the collar breaks away.
  8. For once I haven't left it til late Sunday arvo! Week 42/52 - Riley by shellandriley, on Flickr
  9. One of my mates has hired a few when thinking of buying a new lens to help make his mind up.
  10. Week 41/52 - Riley by shellandriley, on Flickr
  11. If it was my dog and I knew it was out of character Id probably be heading off to the vet for a checkup just incase.
  12. I've got lightroom, but it intimidates me I tend to use photoscape more.
  13. Can anyone recommend any books, websites, tutorials etc that are good about explaining the process of shooting in raw and editing the raw files? Its something I've wanted to do for a while, and I think now is the time I put the effort in to learn it. Also, am I going to end up with double the files? as in, my folder of raw files, then a folder of jpegs once they're editeD?
  14. I don't buy comfortis, but have bought frontline off ebay in the past without any issues. I've found in the last year or so that theres websites such as priceless pets etc that do it just as cheap as I can find on ebay so tend to stick with them now.
  15. Concentration.... on anything, but the camera. And yet again a ball made an appearance in the bottom of the shot Week 40/52 - Riley by shellandriley, on Flickr
  16. I had a client who used to board their GSD at Allendell and were happy with them.
  17. That bloody ball. He refuses to have his photo taken without a ball or toy or some sort in his mouth. Little bugger!
  18. A day late, but oh well! Week 39/52 - Riley by shellandriley, on Flickr
  19. I tried Riley with one once before and he just sat there and looked at it. It was like he thought it was automatic and at any minute a piece would fly off and give him access to a treat
  20. I upload mine using bbcode or something like that. I just highlight the link and paste it into the post. I can't find out exactly how I do it, as Im not logged in at work and can't remember my password
  21. Riley would definately destroy the iqube, egg babies etc in minutes. I just know he wouldn't get the whole concept of getting the toys out without ripping it to shreads. I am tempted to try him with a nina ottosson toy again though (they are plastic). I have alot of customers though that have great success with teaching their dogs the game though - It would take time, not simply give them the toy and hope for the best.
  22. I pulled up at work once (work in a house so a residential area) and opened my door, and a staffy jumped straight in on my lap before I could get out. I always have a spare lead in my car so walked the street knocking on doors until I found someone that knew where he lived. Another time I saw German Shepherd on a main road - he was really friendly and came when called so jumped in the car easily. I had one dog once on a main road, with cars honking at it trying to cross. I pulled up the gutter, chucked the hazards on and went after it. It was really frightful and would growl if I got too close. There was no way I was going to get close enough safely to check its collar or put a lead on, so I managed to get it to head down a side street away from the main road, then it dissapeared into a yard. It seemed to know where it was heading so I hope it went home.
