  1. Well that is some positive news that you are getting some consumed Sorry to hear that Jeune's cough has come back.
  2. ...perhaps this subject needs it's own thread? :)
  3. I actually love fine details, but that is me personally :) Maybe you could do an overview/glossary of various ingredients as a preface to individual reviews. e.g. Maize (corn), brewers yeast, beets, potato etc??
  4. Since I started this thread, I will post my update. I noticed some mucous discharge soon after beginning on new diet in Ronins eyes in the morning but couldn't really pinpoint it to diet as there didn't appear to be anything in this that he has problems with. I had it checked at the vets and they couldn't find anything wrong - no infections etc. I have moved Ronin on to fully raw and I no longer have the problems. Ronin was previously on Taste of the Wild and did really well on it. I really like the shape of the Sunday Pets and this is why I went with it to slow down his eating, but if I went back to kibble I would go back to TOTW and a slow feeder bowl. I have deleted most of my posts on this thread as I am not comfortable making recommendations and I don't want to promote something I no longer use.
  5. You & me both. I swear they were helping my paws... I mean my hands.
  6. What exactly is your agenda here? Actually, I thought the same :) , but I had a look at the pet food review site and it looked pretty good and I think a good idea to have an aussie version of dog food advisor. I would prefer a bit more detail though. I don't think there is an agenda and hope I am right.
  7. Sounds like excitement to me as well. Maybe put down a rumbled up old towel that he can try and bury the treat under if that is his desire :)
  8. LOL, ya know the grass is always greener... as I quite envy the fact that your dogs don't go bonkers at dinner time. Ronin get very vocal and impatient before feeding, I should record it sometime - It goes from a whiney whimper to a full on Woo woo woo - WILL YOU JUST HURRY UP AND FEED ME!
  9. Definitely try and see if it works, they may get a taste for it - ya never know ya luck :D Regardless of the fact that you may lose some of the active enzymes it will probably still have a soothing effect and the sweetness can be a pick-me-up. Good luck and I will look forward to hearing how you get on.
  10. I totally believed you before, but that is so opposite to mine. All three bowls would have been empty by the time I got the camera focussed  ...and then he would still be looking for more. I am sorry that you have such trouble feeding them .
  11. Yep, same here. I couldn't really give a rats if someone uses my bin when it is on the verge full or empty. I would prefer it when its full, but much rather it in my empty bin than on the verge. I might be wrong here but don't the councils actually own the bins anyway? And to the OP, I don't think you are being 'dickish' at all, your post shows that you actually care and think about others. :) Yeah they say caring is sharing but you can keep your dog s**t to yourself thanks. How is it caring about others when your dumping it in someone elses bin? The OP said she could maybe understand if they weren't dog owners so how do you know who is and who isn't? When someone starts a thread ending it with "opinions please" that's what you get, whether you like it or not. So my opinion is...I don't care if your dog craps a pebble or a third of it's body weight, don't dump it in my bin. Take it home. Exactly, you have given your opinion and I have given mine. The OP is caring because she is asking how others feel about it - ipso facto, she cares. Some people are horrified at the thought or action and others like me don't really care if their bin is used. I don't think this needs to become a heated discussion.

  13. Don't quote me on this but I believe any heating like in tea or even on toast destroys the active enzymes in these top rated honeys?
  14. yeah, my boy has just had his meal and now is whining like he is starving He is hanging out for a bone the cheeky bugger :D But back to your problem DDD, is there anything yours loves that you could coat with a bit of the honey?? I am assuming the finger didn't work?
  15. wow, that surprises me, try a bit on your finger and see what happens.
  16. ... all I do is get a teaspoon and dip it it the honey and let my dog lick it off. My dog loves the honey so it takes no special method to give it.
  17. Awesome Ronin's breeder is there and his sister has a run in the special class for younger dogs.
  18. Thanks Perse I really look forward to our sessions with Kerry, as my wife and I learn so much and we also get to have a cathartic moan about this things that frustrate us  Ronin absolutely LOVES Kerry, he just gets so excited to see her. Another good thing about her as she doesn't get caught up with the dominance or alpha crap that gets spouted on too many TV shows. I concur with the comments above that send away and train places are not going to give the owner the lessons needed. I would say that 90% of training is for and needed by the owners :)
  19. Try Kerry, she is lovely and can visit your home, we have used her since Ronin was around 17 weeks. She also has classes but they are a bit far from my home, http://kerrysdogtraining.com
  20. I am pretty sure I did chest girth, they say if you are in-between sizes go the smaller one.
  21. Thanks LisaCC, I was wrapped when I found them available in Australia at this place... http://www.vetstoreonline.com.au/-medical-pet-shirts-for-dogs-cats-and-rabbits-281/
  22. They are absolutely brilliant! Not only do they protect the wound but they also can have the same calming aspect as with a thunder shirt . I was worried that it might be a problem getting Ronin to wear one but I was pleasantly surprised. The opening for the tail is great and being able to easily unclip the back (fastens with velcro and push studs on the top) and roll it up so the dog can go to the toilet is a major bonus. I was recommended them by a bunch of European husky owners as the shirts are very popular over there, and I am sure it won't be long before they are the number one solution over here. At around $26 I would recommend getting 2, just incase you have an accident. Here is a link showing my boy in his http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/258938-post-surgery-exercise/
  23. I would be bloody annoyed at that. I agree with VM about contacting the company.
