  1. Have access to some better pics today :)
  2. Thanks so much Kirty - great to hear a recovery story! And thanks for your lovely words Denali :)
  3. Baby Nixon To hard to resize others on iPad
  4. It's what I'd normally do , but then I think 'what if he only has a few days left?' I shouldn't have done more googling this morning, the stories are ALL bad
  5. That's a really great idea - more people need to know! I visited him this arvo and had cuddles for about half an hour. He was very perky and full of beans, then very sad/confused when I had to leave him again. Maybe I should just stay away until he can come home. Have been a blubbering mess all day. I blame the hormones! And guilt! Hopefully I'll be able to talk to my favourite vet tomorrow. She'd already left when I was there this arvo.
  6. Thanks Lisa, you're such a champ! I'm just still so petrified I could lose him Waiting and wondering is going to keep me on edge all week I suspect.
  7. He's peeing on his own which is a good sign apparently. They're definitely keeping him on fluids overnight. Will go visit him this arvo and hopefully find out a bit more.
  8. Thank you so much for replying so quickly when I needed help! I guess mother's guilt is just part of being a parent. Hopefully everything will be ok. I'm pretty sure he brought up everything in his stomach when he vomited, so hopefully there weren't many grapes left after that. Not to mention he probably swallowed most of them whole. It's going to be a very long week. And yep - I'll definitely be telling everyone I know not to feed grapes to their dog!
  9. Thanks so much for thinking of us everyone! I just got to work after doing the transfer - emergency vet is 30mins away in good traffic so it was a bit of a mission this morning. They said he is doing really well - his kidney function is still good, and he managed to get lots of charcoal down, so that's great. Now it's just fluids fluids fluids. Elise suggested 48hrs of fluids last night, so will see what our vet thinks today. The longer the better I think! It was really upsetting seeing him this morning with his drip and catheter and cone. I may have bawled my eyes out He seemed pretty perky, but was knocked around a bit by the car trip I think, so I'm sure he'll appreciate a day in bed. Thanks again for all the thoughts and well wishes - and thank goodness for this wonderful site - it would never have occurred to me that the grapes were a problem without you!!! ETA Elise said that it can take up to a week for renal failure to present, so even though he's doing well, it's going to be a waiting game for a while.
  10. He's at the emergency vet overnight, getting stuffed full of charcoal. He's getting looked after by Elise, and she's lovely, so I know he's being well looked after. I head back first thing to transport him to our usual vet. Fingers crossed he will be ok. Thanks for the support everyone x
  11. Thanks so much guys. Worst mother in the world
  12. Have called our vet friend and she's checking some resources. Have looked up how to get to the emergency vet and ready to go. He's not well, poor baby...
  13. Omg, you're kidding?! I didn't know that... He had a handful. I've given him some in the past but usually only 3 or 4 at a time... I usually give him carrots when I leave, but I'd run out
  14. Nix had an enormous spew not long ago. He had breakfast around 8am, then some grapes at lunch, then nothing for the last 6+ hours. I assume that means I can rule out bloat? He had a 2nd smaller spew that was mostly bile. He looks sad and wants to eat grass. He was looking and acting fine earlier. Racing around at the park as per usual. Just after signs that mean we should be rushing to the vet tonight...?
  15. I'd be more concerned about why they gave you the wrong information. Ask them to send you copies of the certificates, or if you're close enough to visit, ask to see the originals. 2:7 seems a touch high, but is still under the breed average.
  16. I swear we look at every possible suv! We ended up with the Mitsubishi outlander. It has one of the largest cargo areas we saw in a 4 cyl. Very happy with it.
  17. OMG, she's growing so fast! She's a beautiful girl
  18. yeah, it was definitely busy! we were right in front of the surf club - just to the right of the flags when you're looking at the water. It was such a beautiful day! And I love it when there isn't much surf :)
  19. You're kidding! I did keep looking out for blue hair :) We were probably there around 3ish for a swim. Some friends of ours had just moved up from Sydney, so we were there visiting them. I did actually see two boys swimming that I thought might have been yours, but I wasn't sure. was one on a red surf/paddleboard? and the other on a boogie board?
  20. Awesome pics Huga! I was there earlier in the day, but we had to leave before the surfing dogs which is a pity!
  21. So, has she tried it yet? Let us know how you go!
  22. I think advocate covers heartworm and other worms except tapeworm. It's a monthly spot on.
  23. Royal Canin - even I thought it smelled nice :) Like vegemite!
  24. Absolutely amazing!! And brilliant photography too
