  1. I was going to mention this. My friend who is a vet is selling it at her clinic, but she hasn't done the training yet personally. She said it only covers fleas for 3 months, so they suggest 3 monthly dosage. Sounds amazing!
  2. This is same/similar to the one I have - it's very good! My phone doesn't fit in my doog one. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Unisex-Running-Bum-Bag-Travel-Handy-Hiking-Sport-Fanny-Pack-Waist-Belt-Zip-Pouch-/271740526933?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&var=&hash=item3f44ff6155
  3. The phone pocket is a bit small, especially if you have a cover on the phone. And I was putting a smaller iphone in it. I really like these belts - http://www.spibelt.com.au/ They stretch out to take your stuff. I bought something similar to this on eBay for about $5 - mainly to fit my phone! It works well. The elastic belt means it fits firmly too.
  4. Dog parks on the Central Coast suck compared to ours SG. None of them are fenced or well equipped like our with doggy bags and water. I was down there at Christmas and was very unimpressed! We're so lucky up here, I've met some really lovely people through my dog park.
  5. Don't give up yet! I'm sure someone will be keen!
  6. It sounds like you have a good set-up there. If there's a way you can allow access to grass, I would do that too - it will speed up the toilet training, and hopefully reduce any mess you need to clean up! If your gates are padlocked then there's not really much else you can do. It's always been a worry for me too, but we lock our gates and hope for the best. You'd hope they'd go for easier targets... We kept our pup in a pen for longer than we should have, in hindsight. He was so much happier once we gave him the run of the yard when we were out. My main concerns when he was a baby puppy was bush turkeys and possums - both present in our yard, and both a lot bigger than him when he was a pup! Once I felt he was mature enough to defend himself I was happy to put him out. If you don't have random wildlife, or hazards in the yard, then you could let him have the run of the whole yard now? As long as he has access to shelter on the deck, I think it would be fine. Do you have many steps to your deck? We made a ramp over the steps so our boy could get up and down easily when he was a pup, but we only had 2 or 3 steps...
  7. The one that seems to come up the most is jane harper I think? http://www.dogsontrack.com.au/
  8. So beautiful! Would love to live on a river one day... Do you have a boat pers?
  9. I think if she's not distressed I would wait and see - it does sound like a small chip. If there's any blackness or discolouration of the tooth, or any sign of pain, then you won't have a choice...
  10. Thanks so much guys! So nice to be able to relax finally. It's been such a long week...
  11. After chasing the vet all morning I finally got the call! And he's all clear!! Both his urea at creatinine levels were smack back in the middle of the healthy range, and unchanged from his original blood test. Such a huge relief! Thanks so much to everyone for all the support - especially you Gruf :)
  12. He's doing pretty well thanks! I felt like he was a bit tired and not 100% for a couple of days, but he came good on Sunday and seems fine now. We went to the vet today for his blood test. No results yet - hopefully in the morning. Have everything crossed for the all clear! Will let you know ASAP :)
  13. Kathmandu have a pretty good easter sale on
  14. Waterproof hiking shoes? From Kathmandu or somewhere similar
  15. Paying a deposit proves you're serious and aren't going to leave them in the lurch. I paid a $100 deposit, which is a pretty small portion of the full purchase price. I'm sure breeders deal with a lot of time wasters who 100% definitely want a puppy, and then bail...
  16. From what I can tell he spent the whole night sleeping on his back :) guess he couldn't do that in a crate with drip and cone attached... I'm certainly paranoid about every little thing though. The vet implied he would be normal, but he's certainly very tired. I took him to the park and he loved it, but seemed a little fragile. It's going to be a long wait til Tuesday! Thanks again for every little post guys, they all mean so much!
  17. Thanks Lisa :) I'm taking tomorrow off to keep an eye on him. And to catch up on cuddles!

    Puppy Diet

maybe start with a small bag of proplan, so you don't have to make your decision in a hurry. You will need more than 2 days worth to transition to a new food properly anyway... The last thing you need is an upset tummy when you're trying to toilet train!
  19. This is him sporting his new hair cut, moments after wiping his charcoaly butt across my clean floor :)
  20. Sorry guys, missed your posts! I just got back from taking him home. He was very happy and excited, and very perky. He'd just had another bath cos apparently the charcoal gets everywhere... The vet said her gut feeling is that he won't have any lasting issues, but we're booked in on Tuesday for more bloods to check. His bloods yesterday were still normal, so that's a relief! She said to just treat him normally - no special treatment or medication. The only signs of renal distress are likely to be if he's drinking less water, so will keep an eye on that over the weekend. The first thing he did when we got home (after a massive poo!) was have a big drink, so hopefully that's a good sign :) Will update again after we get his next test results back.
  21. True MRB - it's a bit of a dilemma. My husband said he wants to visit this arvo, so hopefully he can get there in time before they shut. Would be good I think - Nix is closer to me, but my hubby and Nix still have lovely cuddles most nights, so could work out well. Apart from not wanting to upset him when I leave, I'm overly hormonal and spent the majority of my visit yesterday bawling, and I'm not sure it's good for either of us
  22. Thanks Luke :) Morning update. I insisted on speaking to the vet this morning, which has made me feel a bit better. Apparently he did well overnight, and is still pretty perky. They're trying him on some food today I think. The vet didn't realise how late he started fluids monday night (close to midnight I think), so we talked it over and he's going to stay there on fluids for another night. They'll remove the drip tomorrow morning, then monitor him for a few hours, and I'll pick him up around lunchtime. She will do some bloods at some point to check his kidney function again, then we'll do more bloods early next week. I've said I won't come visit him again - we both got too upset yesterday I think. I'm feeling a little better today. Just have to keep waiting and hoping. She said he was being very talkative yesterday which is really funny - he's not normally very vocal at all! Apparently he may have been upset he didn't have access to the cat they were treating :) He's also been talkative when he needs to go to the toilet :)
