Poor little fella. I do hope it's the drugs side effects on him and not actual deterioration. Has he ever had his brain scanned? What about if you back out at night when people are asleep? I wish we could speak dog to find out what's upsetting them and let them know it's okay Nothing to report on my front, trainer intimidated me like usual but Thistle sat quietly in a circle of dogs including a couple of feet from a strange terrier. Barked at he trainer less too. Also felt better that by wearing her scared vest the trainer (evaluates dog attacks for legal things???) reckons even if thistle did bite someone / something they'd be at fault for going up to the dog. Which makes me feel a bit more confident and hence thistle more confident? So hard to be confident for the dog x-x -
The first one are ferns, alright for dogs (and cats and rabbits) but I find fleas love it in summer. the 2nd one looks like the wide sedge-like grass we have growing in our backyard - it sprouted up from the uneaten seeds in my rabbits' food and both dog and rabbits nibble on it fine. It could also be a bulb plant as well though, pull a bit out and check?

I think generally the aim is not to inhibit the capacity to bite, but to avoid getting to the point where the dog is so stimulated he needs to bite. A muzzle would be a better idea, but still would use this in conjunction with a one on one trainer. I would worry using a head collar in that way as dog is still stimulated and lashing out but can't get the desired affect, which just increases frustration. I was thinking more it's easier for OP to lead the dog away with the head halters when get gets worked up as sounds like he's quite a bit stronger. Sounds like they're trying to do that before he gets too excited. Harnesses can also get them too excited so I'd hope if OP could they'd trial some different styles to see which one makes him easier for her to redirect and move away. (I imagine the son doesn't have this problem?) Edit. Predictive text argh Personally I use a martingale for walks but I'm capable of holding my dogs weight at full lunge. Doesn't sound like OP could do this and id worry about her health too. Being dragged is not fun! Oh yeah and totally agree with someone above - practice in your yard with the new equipment so he realises what he can't do.

I reckon a harness that attaches at the front on his chest (not the ones from behind as he sounds the type to take it as a reason to pull harder) or one of those head halters will help you control him suddenly pulling while you work on his training. I've heard good things about the canny collar and the generic head halter in stores tightens around the mouth when they pull - useful if you're worried about him biting. Can't bite with a closed mouth and your head being turned away! Can your son take him to some obedience classes?

Gps Dog Collar Kickstarter!

That's amazing! Tech can be pretty cool. I look forward to what stuff will be made in the future for dogs. My folks have some radio collars but... They're kinda big and ugly and I moved to the city XD I don't fancy everyone asking what she's wearing! So a collar like this one is cool. Half the price of a radio one too... -
What a champ! Happy birthday!

What a fascinating page! Argh accidentally hit send too early. And again! You wouldn't happen to know of a similar page - found it once and couldn't find it again - it was like the page you linked and was about merles, double merles and when white would pop up? -
Thanks guys! I confess I haven't had the time to add from dog adventures yet. It will probably have to be something I do when we are having cuddles Saturday night!

Thank you Hazy :D After all the places that can make good day trips, beach and forest alike. some are so cleverly hidden and others are so often advertised they're a bit too busy (You yangs was a lot of fun but so crowded! She did really well, I was just irked kids were in the photos XD) -
Gps Dog Collar Kickstarter!

Yeah that start up price is pretty $$$ but in my hunt, it's the same price as all the other gps/radio collars out there - with the bonus that you don't have to sign up to anything but the app and has lots of other frills. Majorly appreciating that waterproofing! And all those extra exercise monitoring and heartbeat type things that I'm less interested in personally. I'm one of those early bird ones, btw. Discount if it goes ahead! And I really want something like that on the market - maybe some competition will happen and cheap options could come out. Maybe if she wasn't such a scaredy-dog I wouldn't but for me, worth it for the peace of mind! That and I expect it to last some 8-10 years :p -
I just saw this on the news and immediately ran over to pledge to it! So I'm hoping this is okay to share incase anyone else is as eager as me to support it. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/squeakerdogs/buddy-the-dog-collar-reimagined/description It's a GPS collar with a 14 day battery life! It also does fancy things like monitor your pet but I'll be honest, I'm in this for the GPS and Bluetooth. It can find your pet to within 1 metre! (For ppl unfamiliar with kickstarter aka myself, my understanding is the money only leaves your bank if they are successful. You can donate between $1 and $8k if you have that much to spare lol) I want to gush about how excited I am if this becomes a thing (I've been hunting for gps collars but most of them required you to charge it every other day or have a phone subscription? This one you don't seem to need to subscribe, you buy outright.) I'm just so worried something will happen and because of her nervous nature, no-one will catch her so the faster I get near her the faster I can recall if she gets a fright! edit: cant get image to work :c Doesn't hurt that it's an Australian brand as well.
