  1. No worries LMWS, looks like we've got it all sorted now, thank you anyway! Dogdayz was very patient answering questions and helping out with what to feed Tajah and it's working very well
  2. Just thought I'd update this thread. Tajah has now been on a raw food diet, with vet's all natural complete mix and her medication changed to the human version, for 2 weeks. Her weight before she started was just 11.9kg and she was a skeleton with skin Her weight this morning after two weeks is 14.2kg Her coat is improving, her tummy is filling out, she is no longer starving every minute of every day, her poos are normal and she isn't losing anywhere near the amount of oil from her skin. The change is incredible. I will have a photo of her tonight before she started...not sure how good it is, I didn't take it, and I'll be posting progress photos. This is such a huge relief for me and my family because there was a lot of talk of having her PTS, the vets had given up on her. Go Tajah!
  3. My thoughts are with Page and her family
  4. It's very hard rehoming a dog, I have had to do it myself many years ago when I became too unwell to take care of him Jaida is not your typical Rottweiler, she's a X breed and doesn't have many Rottweiler personality traits...actually I hardly notice she's here she's that good. I wonder if the landlady wouldn't notice her either
  5. I wouldn't be desexing males until at least 6 months old, older in larger breeds, and females after two seasons...but that's just me :D
  6. RIP Puss I can only hope that mine all lead a long happy life like Puss did
  7. LOL thats what mine do as well hahaha, funny thing is 80% of our house is tiles including right near the back door, so once given the release word they try too run around but end up sliding everywhere usually into the laundry door They calm down once they realise they arent going anywhere fast and yet they do it every single time!! Unfortunately my house is all carpet, the only tiles they hit are in the laundry for about one lunatic bound, they slip, hit the carpet and they're off again. They have put scratches in the carpet in the lounge room from chasing their toys...I hope that's considered 'wear and tear' otherwise I'm replacing it AGAIN
  8. Good news the toy is moving through her system, hopefully it'll all continue to pass
  9. Oh this is one thing I don't like about having multiple dogs! All the dogs are so well behaved on their own, put them together and they become a bunch of very naughty dogs! It's the running through the back door thing and all through the house when I first let them in that REALLY annoys me. They know to sit before I'll open the door, and they'll do that...and wait. But when I give the release word all hell breaks loose and they go zooming through the house because it's all so exciting I can't find a way to make them caaalllm down after the release word. They're not hyper after getting the 'OK' to eat, or get up from their drop or stay or anything else, just coming in the back door. I HATE it
  10. Why de-bone the sardines? Lots of calcium in bones, bones are good! I hope your little girl will be OK, if she's running around and being her normal self I would try to stress less and see how she goes
  11. Oh he's got you sucked in already!
  12. Daegon is force fed because he has refused to eat anything on his own since August last year, aside from a different kibble for a couple of weeks and the occasional other bits here and there. I will be swapping back to the kibble he did eat for a while on Wednesday. He better eat it or I will be packing his bags for him and putting him out on the doorstep
  13. Sounds like you're having great results fang, good work
  14. Yes, 7 cups. It's ridiculous, I cannot get him to gain weight on it no matter how much of it he eats. If he eats less than the 7 cups he will lose weight. Back before August he was eating the Bonnie very happily, only 3 cups a day and staying at a steady weight.
  15. Actually now that you mention it Daegon has been doing very poorly on the Bonnie. I get around 7 cups of it into him through force feeding and that is enough to just hold current weight without gaining any. He used to eat it quite readily and now he will flat out refuse it. When did Purina take over anybody know? Daegon started refusing it around August last year I think it was...perhaps he knew ETA: this is Bonnie Working Dog, not puppy
  16. What kibble are you feeding? If it's a super premium kibble then he probably wont eat much because he wont need to. You need far less of a really good kibble than you would a cheaper kind. Super premium foods are also a complete diet, you do not need to add things to them. If you do feed meat don't cook it, you're getting rid of a lot of the goodness in it...wolves don't go around cooking their dinner I wouldn't feed kangaroo meat to a puppy, too low in fat, stick with beef/lamb/chicken
  17. I have used Bonnie puppy, never had a problem with it. If I had been able to afford a better food I would have, but Bonnie is pretty good for the price really.
  18. That first link has crashed my computer three times. Finally got to open it and it's not a video, it's a LOT of keyboard characters.
