How To Stop Your Puppy From Jumping Out Of Their Play Pen?

Perhaps something like this would work? Don't know how secure the top covers are though. Available from 'Deals Direct'. -
How To Stop Your Puppy From Jumping Out Of Their Play Pen?

I was advised ages ago never to lift a puppy out of a pen as this can sometimes start them jumping out. I've never really had that problem as all my pens have tops, wouldn't be game to leave them without - you never know when one's going to turn into a 'roo -

Woops, sorry poodlefan, it was just a pic I had on the PC when I was looking for a pen, didn't really remember where it came from. -

Perhaps a pen with a door would be best. Sometimes "Deals Direst" or Ebay have them. If you 'google' dog supplies there will probably be a number of places online if that would be easier. A 'not-so-good' picture so you can get an idea. They come in various sizes. -
Sheesh, I know the owner of an abbattiors who has a contract for meat at Coles and also delivers to butcher shops and he'd laugh himself silly to see that. The health regulations for abbattiors have nearly sent him broke.

Either buy a crate with a solid attached top or make a top to go on the one you have. My guys dont attempt of jump out of their pens at shows but I'd never leave them without a solid closing lid on the pens. The pens from Bunnings are handy for making tops, just wire a section on to one side of your pen and close with dog clips. May have to cut to fit. -
I've recommended the ginger nut biscuits to a few people and they've all had good results.
-
Just to add - if you go for the puppy pen and you get one without a top (lid) then it pays to peg a rug/cover over the top as it doesn't take them long to get on top of their crate then it's only a small step to getting over the top of the pen.

Well, for starters, some Min Pins can be barkers! My Mickey isn't known as "Motor Mouth" for nothing. Mine have all been crated for shows and love their crates but I found as youngsters at home it was best to put the crate, with the door open, in a puppy pen (the Bunning's ones are ideal) so they use it when they are sleepy etc. I found shutting the door of the crate was asking for lots of barks if they weren't tired. The only time I shut the door was at night time when it's time for bed, they will gradually get used to this although there may be protests for a while. Once they are going to shows they're shut in the crate for travelling and then into either a trolley or puppy pen. There's a lot of energy in those little bods and lots of protests can be natural. Have I missed the pics?

My Silky girl does this frequently, she barks and dances from one foot to the other, generally it's to get me to have a game if her pal, Mick, won't oblige. Sometimes I play with her but she knows that a hand held up and "enough" means she has to find her own entertainment. Attention seeking, yes, dominance, not here anyway lol.

C3 for the puppy vacs. then no more vacs. No heartworm given. Flea treatment only if they have fleas (none for years), no ticks in this area, so no treatment. Worming regularly as pups then poop tested every so often and and meds used if necessary, all dogs have been clear for over 12 months now. The less chemicals pumped in, the better IMO.

Never buy a dog as a 'toy' for the kids.

It sounds as if a more detailed examination/tests by your Vet would be in order rather than just prescribing something to stop the diahrrea? Perhaps going back to the diet the breeder was feeding might help? Did she have diahrrea when you picked her up or only since changing food? Having fed Supercoat for ages without any problems, I changed a young dog to one of the dearer recommended brands thinking I was doing the right thing and she started scratching her coat out so back to Supercoat and not another problem so the dearest isn't always the best!

Do You Feed At The Same Time Every Day?
pebbles replied to Winterpaws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My guys get fed once a day, later in the summer than the winter. When I start to prepare my tea I feed the dogs, they have their meal in their pens and stay there until I've had my meal. If we are away for the day then feed time is whatever time we get home, could be midnight. Sort of a routine but they don't worry if it's changed as long as food arrives! -
Beat me to it Miranda! I had a boy with a oozy hole suddenly appear above the toes on a front foot. Bathed it, had a poke around in it and found a grass seed on it's way out. Removed it with tweezers, sprayed some Debrasol (? sp) bathed daily and it came good.

If you are happy with the stripping you are doing then please don't clip a Border! Really makes a mess of the coat and it never grows back correctly.

Woops, my September bet is looking a bit wonky

'Bout time I won something

Mine's up to 376 days expired and I've just paid again! Yep, Bertie Beetles sound good,

When I was grooming and had those owners who wouldn't do anything between I would charge a fair amount then tell them if they brought the dog back in, say, 3 months it would be, eg., $40 but if left for longer it would be double that. Hitting the pocket seemed to work lol.

"Old and grey"? Well with that timeline it should have been fixed ages ago (Sorry, you asked for it!)

Hey, my 6 months bet, September, is looking good  - what do I win????

And electricity cords on washers, dryers, etc. Little paws can fish them out from behind appliances!

Some months ago Abby (Silky) was playing in the yard and suddenly vomitted and pooed at the same time, she was shaking and drooling and unsteady on her feet. I checked every inch of her and found a large meat ant inside her mouth attached to her upper lip. Little devil would chase them and stomp them with her paws. This time apparently she got smart and picked one up and got a good bite on the tender inside lip. After she calmed down she was fine, I guess the sudden pain from the bite resulted in the extreme reaction. Scared me for a while At least she learnt and stays clear of them now.

I had a Min Pin like that. Was he tested for pancreas problems?
