  1. Oh dear - can you check your manual to see if that particular error is listed? I really have no ideas. The only time I had that error I took the battery out and put it back in and it was ok.
  2. are there any exisitng amages on the card? do you have a card reader? if you do, can you download to pc from the card via the reader? thinking that if you can "read" the card via a reader - ie get the images onto a pc, then would have to asume the card is ok? Try taking the camera battery out, and putting it back in - don't ask why, just try it!
  3. Will it allow you to format the card?
  4. Well I think after this mornings effort I will put the camera away and spend some time actually trying to train my dogs I tried bunny shots this morning - I've posted the two half decent ones in the April challenge thread. This is one of the out takes
  5. thanks guys - I've been using the 50mm a lot lately, so have switched to my Sigma 17 - 70 for bit of a change.
  6. OK well I'll start it off with two I took this morning. Composition is something I want to work on this month, as I've finally got the knack (most of the time) of switching AF points without too much fumbling. For the past couple of weeks since changing cameras I have mostly been using the centre focus point and relying on cropping. As you can se they are as indifferent to Easter as they were to Xmas!
  7. OK - this is tonight's effort - and the last for the month.
  8. I'll have a look tomorrow - from what I remember most is parot, wild bird, "mix", but the Trill stood out. I will take pen and paper (or camera) tomorrow!
  9. that's not totally true Rozzie - I went to the supermarket just now, and checked the Trill - it says Bird FOOD. ETA - how dare Erny just leave us like that???
  10. that's not totally true Rozzie - I went to the supermarket just now, and checked the Trill - it says Bird FOOD.
  11. Just checked on the camera it was 7:50pm onwards - way to late, but I had to pick OH up from the station at 7pm. The first pic was shutter speed 1/4 aperture 2.8 (not intended) ISO 640 (not intended) with the wrong lens - the 70 - 200 taken at 70mm. By the time I got there the moon was getting too high to get it in the shot with the sea. I had the 50mm in my pocket (with the poo bags) so used it for the second shot. The seond one was shutter speed 1/13 AV 1.8 (not intended) ISO 3200 with the 50mm lens. I took the tripod but had trouble steadying it i the sand, so I rested the camera on a post which again limited my "view". The moon was visibly rising and in my hurry to set the 2 sec timer I forgot to change the AV settings. Anyway, we are here to learn - and that I did I will endeavour to go down again tonight, and try for a horizontal panorama of the moon rising over the sea. ;)
  12. tonight's full moon - I got there way too late but the dogs just had to come, so I was fumbling a bit in the dark as per usual Might try again tomorrow night - at least aim for a bit earlier. There's a couple of fisher people in this one - and a UFO
  13. OMG! I used to eat Brufax (savoury yeast flakes) on hot buttered toast as a kid - and LOVED it! It was like a mild vegemite flavour. It's also good in soups and stews etc (never mind the dogs! ) and I thought it was a secret of the Greyhound community - silly me!
  14. just wondering where "fodder" comes into it all
  15. Mmm well then I wonder about the saying "oh it's just chicken feed" I too was "forced" to make a trip to the local produce store yesterday afternoon and found the same as you Rozzie!
  16. according to "Wiki" Animal feed - food given to or meant for livestock
  17. So, do budgies eat food or feed
  18. geat shots bec - had me in stitches. my guys do nuffun like that!
  19. I have some stuff here called Savoury Yeast Flakes: - made by Lotus. It is for vegetarians to help with nutrition. A rich sourse of vit B. It has a slightly cheesy flavour, and a little sprinked over food often helps newly speyed fosters get back on the eating track. Available from good health food shops.
  20. OK - I've cropped it the other way now - there's another grey about to whizz past on the left
  21. thanks CM - those dam greys run big circles around you - so it's into the sun, back to the sun - me spinning on the spot trying to keep the camera out of the water. I have tried to change the exposure in lightroom, but the dog then just vanishes into the water - not sufficient contrast to silhouette the dog. And no matter what I do, the water gets "pinker", But I guess I am happy with the shots under the circumstances .
  22. Thanks for the comments Cat - and yeah Airedales - don't see a lot of them. These two are so funny, we see them often and they rush up and bark "at the big dogs", then run away when the "big dogs" look at them
  23. OK this mornings effort - I'm trying new things with my camera, but struggling with off lead dogs whilst knee deep in water in the almost dark Not sure if these two work as I was shooting into the rising sun and they looked a bit blah - so any/all comments appreciated. This is my favourite and I like these too!
