  1. Ordered the 7D on Tuesday afternoon from DWI and it arrived Friday Because OH doesn't know about it yet (cough), I've barely had time to rip it out of the box and certainly havent read the instructions Anyway, we had a promotion at Western Port Festival today - my first go with the new body. Only took the Sigma 70-200 with me, and although I tried to get out and about, we were so busy on our stand, that most of my first shots are of our greyhounds. the lovely Mavis Vessie with his carers daughter Venus I did manage to catch some flying motorbikes I will try and learn more during the week, but so far, I like it very much
  2. We will be at the Westernport Festival tomorrow at Hastings - with lots of foster greys great pics BTW!
  3. all gone now !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Not "little" or "puppy" but you get the drift!
  5. I look like a poodle at the moment - if you're stuck I have naturally curly hair and it badly needs "something".
  6. No Bec, he was a long term foster - very very timid and I shed buckets when he went to his new home. But he is very happy and we keep in touch!
  7. No, just a thick kennel coat - he did have a few races.
  8. Can I ask how this would apply to greyhounds please? They are raised with their litter mates until they are in their teens, so play with each other and would think develop bite inhibition. Then they are trained to "bite on" - a lure, rabbit whatever. This is something they are encouraged to do, and instinctively do (well most of them anyway). They rip and tear at the "object" - biting hard. Then those that come through as pets, either have a very soft bite - towards humans. Some try to grab food, but can be taught easily not to bite your fingers off. Same with nail cutting - some can be reactionary but bite soft. Am I taking crap - ie. on a differnt subject, or am I making sense? annieK
  9. Thankyou Anniek, that sounds exactly like it. Can you see the funny side of this ritual? Yes it's bloody funny - you try to explain to people but they just don't get it - then they see it and understand... and can't stopping looking and laughing
  10. Sounds to me like trancing - our Phoebe does it under the ferns in the back yard - slow motion, tail out - she gets her jollies from the ferns tickling along her back.
  11. Thats great Bec, I reckon you should tell Canon all about how your camera is fairly new and has broken and you are thinking about getting Nikon
  12. sorry - just couldn't resist - friends again
  13. Well if you have my camera, I can't use the lenses - so you might as well have them too!

  17. We have many greyhounds come in like that - just use Vit E cream - keep it in the fridge if you want it to be thicker so it goes/stays in/on a bit better
