  1. Personally I find taxidermy.... not something that I would choose to do myself.... I think there are other ways to tribute and remember a loved pet who has passed on... I think it would be nicer to have them alive and happy in my thoughts.... than potentially collecting dust in the corner Although in the moment of losing a beloved pet it might seem a great idea.... ten years on.... you might feel differently.... and then potentially guilty... you know... if it gets shuffled of into the garage or something.... Sorry.... I'm no help... and I don't think I'm making you feel better either....
  2. A very sad story LC, you sound like a very caring and responsible person...
  3. Tragic... I am so sorry Thinking of you and your family... x o x o
  4. Ok, so PNG24 isn't a save option at least in the version of Photoshop I'm using. So if I get rid of the background and try to save it as a PNG the file size it way too big (about 75kb) Help
  5. Yeah I noticed that sometimes you can see the box around the one I did for myself... I used photoshop to make the sig, I'll back in now and see if I can figure it out
  6. Thanks Kahlua I would have liked to have had a different picture on the other side but I officially suck at cutting out fluffy dogs I gave one of the other pics a go.... but Ivy ended up looking...a bit...... square Personally I prefer the first one... you know... less is more.... BTW I got the font from a site called defont, they've got some great stuff and (most) of it is free
  7. OK....... Here goes...... Or ;) I tried anyway let me know what you think :D Don't worry about offending me... I'm learning so it's all good

  10. lol.... All the hair! I think I've picked a gorgeous! but very... difficult subject :D I'm working on it Oh the one you picked looks great BB I'll still give it go though ;) You know... It's good for learning
  11. Do you guys mind if I have a go a BB's sig?.... It will be straight from the Noob cup though....
  12. Hey Rocky, When you put on a product like frontline I'm pretty sure your not to bathe them for a week or so... to give all the little critters their chance to die. When you apply the next lot... lay of bathing him again straight away.... As distasteful as it may sound... When my young girl came to me absolutely riddled with fleas, I gave her a Capstar tablet, and combed out her medium length wire coat with a lice comb and squished all the little monsters I could find between my fingernails and I mean every single inch of her! I also use sentinal as my wormer which also keeps the fleas at bay... Since that first week I have had no problems.... so far..... Good luck x o x o
  13. Happy Birthday Darcy What a handsome dog you have there KAT1
  14. No advice from me... Glad they are in a good home And OMG they are both adorable
  15. I am very hands on, Touching my dogs, patting them to show my affection and praise.. My Kara absolutely adores being patted about her head and neck, in fact I think she most loves being touched around her face, ears, neck and across her upper back! My Steve on the other hand Hates to Patted anywhere... long strokes are ok, and scritches all about his ears, neck, back, tummy are very welcome... but he always needs to GO! (He's very busy ) I think every dog is different, and the person who knows the dog best, knows best... BUT Some people do need guidance to start off with and if a new owner isn't great at reading what their dog likes, avoiding possible discomfort (dog doesn't like it and owner cant tell / dog likes it but new owner hasn't quite got the knack) then may be this advice is warranted....
  16. Yup When we took Steve to puppy school I think he was one of two mutts in the class... (it was a very small class) I guess everybody is going to have different experiences. Actually I wonder what the other people thought about me
  17. We have a lot of flies here at the moment too.. I think maybe they love this humid weather. I hate spraying insecticide with people or pets in the house, so I give a really big spray before I go out anywhere... Then when I get back the house is nice until someone opens the flysceen again My Gran uses a fly swatter! (She's like an 83 year old Ninja with that thing) but it seems to work for her so if your not squeamish about squishing them maybe give that a go... There's no chemicals involved...
  18. $29,000!!! holy hell.. but that's a lot of money! Truly I hope they are able to raise the money and the dog is everything they hope it will be.... I understand a family wanting to any and everything they can to help their child.... I wonder if they are able to get a tax rebate or something though.... because $29,000.....
