Aylah is pretty. I want a name that doesn't end in "ie" or "y" (for that same sound at the end) for my next dog. I had Mia and Ava on my list before Millie came along, but her original name was Lily so I didn't use one of my other choices. Now those names don't appeal to me as much, plus other Aussie owners here on DOL have since come along and "stolen" them  When I get my pretty little Aussie, I will probably need to make a post like this to get some ideas! I do really like Aylah for your girl :)

Native american meaning, strong wise beautiful woman. Hebrew meaning, moonlight. Turkish meaning, near the oak tree.

How weird is that! I looked it up and it said it was Hebrew for Gazelle which I thought was fitting given the way she was bouncing last night... typical aussie!

I like all the meanings anyway :)

I'm stuck between Aylah and Dakota - some like one more than the other... argh... can't decide!! LOL!

Oh - I thought Aylah was the one!

I need names that really mean something to me, so each of our dogs (and our children, for that matter) has been named for a special reason. Even "Stella" which is very common has a reason behind it.

I can look at any of our names and they make me smile for one reason or another. Names are like poetry to me.

Choose one that you are going to enjoy for the life of your gorgeous girl. Pick something that sings to you, and bugger the rest of us! :)

Dakota is a bogan baby name. Doesn't suit a pretty Aussie girl at all. It's also the name of my sons feral exgirlfriends dog she bought at a Melbourne market. Ugly little critter, best guess on breed would be a pitbull x kelpie x piglet.

Aylah rolls off the tongue better when you're calling her, and chances are you will somehow find a way to shorten Dakota and it will stick! The only thing is when you introduce your dogs to people, you will get tongue tied if you say them in the order of Aylah, Leo and Kinta. The two L's so close together will roll into one another :) Introduce in age order and you'll be fine

Aylah rolls off the tongue easier than Dakota IMO.

She is simply gorgeous!!!

She is 8 weeks old, so that would make her born around mid June so she is a Geminii! You could call her Gemi or minii
