A prize-winning chihuahua stolen during this month's Royal Adelaide Show has been found safe.

Detectives found Harry, unharmed and in good condition, at a house at Northfield in Adelaide's northern suburbs, about 10:00am ACST.

The pinched pooch has now been reunited with his very happy owner, Kylie Sunman.

She had been just metres away, toileting other dogs, when Harry was snatched from the dog pavilion at the Show early this month.

No charges have been laid over the dognapping at this stage.

The owner had been offering a reward of thousands of dollars for the dog's safe return.

HARRY the chihuahua from the Royal Adelaide Show is happy and well after being reunited with his owner, police say.

Police collected Harry from a Northfield address this morning and took him to Sturt Police Station.

Kylie Sunman, of Two Wells, said she collected Harry about 10.30am and would be paying the promised $5000 reward to two people who contacted her yesterday.

"He's a bit skinny and he's lost a fair bit of coat but he's OK," she said.

Miss Sunman, of Two Wells, owns six chihuahuas, including Harry, who was snatched from a cage in the dog pavilion during the Show.

Police allege a man opened the cage then hid the the dog under his clothing before running from the pavilion while Miss Sunman was just metres away.

Miss Sunman said a man matching the description of the alleged offender earlier had talked to her about her dogs.
