  1. My Pet Goods Direct always has out of stock food. But they sell it quite a bit cheaper - 2 for 1 type deals and clearly marked.
  2. Pro Plan - Usually the one for Salmon one sensitve tums but have fed the whole range. No problems at all. Super glossy coats (especially on the Salmon). Dogs love it. Great for weight, too good in fact. Eagle Pack - holistic range. No change in poos. Slightly less glossy coat. Great Barko - Slightly bigger poos. Slight change in coat condition. Too hard for old dog to chew. Dogs loved it. For the cost saving would still use even though I think it is not as good as the premium foods. Have used Advance as well on and off. No really comments for or against as I haven't used it over a long enough time. ie used a 3kg bag inbetween other stuff. My dogs have done best on the Pro Plan range. My favs have been the Sensitive, Performance and the new Natural Selections.
  3. Think the angst is who imports it. Lots of people would use Evo in particular if the connection to pet shops wasn't there.
  4. Yes similar to Vets All Natural. Bit cheaper I think.
  5. They probably buy 'polenta' and put that in. They use human grade products.
  6. So many of these threads going now, that I don't know were to post stuff!!! Ingredients for Phuds is: psyllium husk - polenta - oat - barley - rosehip - dandelion root - coconut - dolomite - buckseed - seaweed - flaxseed meal lentils - vegetables You soak it in hot water for about 5 mins, then add mince. Dogs love it. 5kg is $39.95 and that lasts ages. I was using 1 cup (dry) between 2 dogs.
  7. I called Great Barko. The cooked cereal is wheat. The meat by product is meat meal. Hope that helps.
  8. Supercoat has meat meal as the main ingredient and also doesn't state exactly were the meat is from. Pro Plan has a meat as the first ingredient. Pro Plan is a much, much better kibble than Supercoat. Purina One is a bit better than Supercoat. Pro Plan Select is the holistic range. And the Pro Plan website is the MOST annoying website I have been on!!!!!!!!
  9. I have the SG One Jump DVD to play with over Xmas too. It was actually this that inspired me to start with Poppy!! I tried with Brock and he was ummm hopeless so I had a go with Poppy and she was a little star.
  10. I am not talking about dogs under 12 months though. Dog is 13 months. At what age from now can I start doing weaves etc. I didn't do any agility with Brock until he was 18 months. Just want to know if I can teach weaves over Xmas!
  11. I feed 1 cup of Great Barko in the morning and some bone thing at night (1 chicken frame). The dogs are fractionally on the porky side.
  12. Poppy is 13 months and is a little border collie (at the moment she is in the 400 height range). Croydon will let you do certain things at 12 months but you have to pass your obedience stuff first which takes a while and the dog is usually older anyway.
  13. I think you will find that the dog food has also been withdrawn Poocow. If you have cats don't let them near it. 2 cases of cats getting sick from the dog food.
  14. EVO, Innova & Cal Nat are really, really good foods. EVO is a super food. But we aren't using them because of the Pets Paradise connection. Pet Goods Direct is also owned by PP so the link is there. I have decided to go the Aussie only route. Not just because of the recent problems but because buying imported stuff doesn't sit well with me. And let's not forget the dollar. But if I was really, really set on feeding a non-grain diet EVO would be looking pretty good right now..... But then there are the principals. But do you let them get in the way of your own furbaby????
  15. At what age can you start doing the different agility stuff i.e. weaving, jumping etc. ? Ta
  16. Looks like she had fun! Were where you???? Looks like a good set up.
  17. Petstock sell Omnipro. The ingredients didn't really excite me but I did get some when it was on special. Didn't cause problems. I really recommend calling the feed companies and asking about their foods.
  18. Sorry if someone else has already put this link on, http://www.championpetfoods.com/Australia_...mer_Release.pdf This explains why there was a problem with Orijen.
  19. Miranda, I had the opposite problem when feeding BARF (not the rolls, I did it as per the book). All the borders got rather porky. I do 50/50 now.
  20. Watch your kitties if you are feeding Orijen to your pups still. There is a report on Catworld of a kitty getting ill after pinching the dog's Orijen. The other option that hasn't been mentioned is the Vets All Nature or Phuds (from Browns Herbal). Lots of oats etc in these products but I fed Phuds for a while with no problems and the dogs loved it. It is just like porridge and you add meat to it. Just another idea!
  21. Nothing on their website about bigger bags. They might not be able to make a bigger bag as the product is semi-dry not a totally hard kibble so there might be issues with it going off. I honestly can't remember the price but think it was around the same price as Pedigree. Last bag I got was the 1kg for about $4 but it was on special.
  22. Just had a chat to Natures Gift. The wheat is in the product to bind it and the sugar for shelf life. The meat content is approx 70% and the wheat approx 10-15%. They have a cat range coming out in April. Maybe if people supported these Australian companies then they would be able to produce a super premium food!
  23. Brock will not tug at all. Hates having stuff in his mouth and will not tug with me on the other end!! Poppy however I have hope for!! She likes to greet me with something in her mouth! And when training her yesterday she actually ripped the tug out of my hand and ran off with it!!! I was very excited. I managed to run through quite a few of the Susan Garrett exercises with her because she does interact with the tug. She has done no agility yet so I was really pleased.
  24. I've fed it when it came in little packets. The dogs loved it - gobble, gobble. It is in my Safeways.
