  1. I am interested in who does and who doesn't attend a regular dog school. And the whys (of course, lol). Looking for replies from people who want to trial.
  2. Congrats Seita!!  Great work!
  3. Yep stuffed. Was a great day though. My puppy was NOT impressed that I had taken Brock out all day. OMG the carnage! My other dog Fern was obviously not entertaining enough. 11.40 at night and she is still going nuts! A lot higher drive than Brock
  4. Think it is in the pavillion. So covered but will be chilly.
  5. You would wee your pants with laughter if I showed you Brock's!
  6. Very nice work! Can you please descripe what you do with your feet on your turns?? lol. It looks different foot work from what I was taught and I am crap at doing that, so am always looking for different foot work! Is hard to see on the vid.
  7. I was impressed seeing as I have been teaching Brock to send away over a fence all last week. He is never going to send with much enthusiasm I think. So well done on your send!
  8. We passed! I used most of your ideas to get him to go over without Mummy. So thanks. He would follow food over and would run (well trot) to the treat bag. Certainly with none of the enthusiasm you usually see! But I managed to send him over in the test so all is good. Also passed the seesaw! yeah!
  9. lol and I have had 2 boy & 2 girl border collies and have much prefered the girls!! They have had a better work ethic and have had better focus. I didn't notice a drop in performance after I got one of the girls desexed.
  10. Just checked on Pet network and they have them. I thought they might as the owner has collies!
  11. There is one that sprays citronella too! The zappy ones started at $400 for a normal garden. Only problem is the dogs have to wear collars and I don't have collars on my dogs in the garden. I am having a digging under the fence problem rather than a jumping problem. The neighbours dog initially dug her out and she is doing it herself. With an acre of garden and 2 other dogs I don't know why she is doing it. Maybe to find me. She is certainly not happy once she is out and goes nuts when I let her back in, weird dog. I am putting concrete pavers until the fence line. Wasn't going to desex her but am looking at doing that as well. I found with my other girl that she wanted out until she got desexed.
  12. Thanks for that article Helen. Should your dog get tangled and stuck in a electric fence there is a possibility that it will kill the dog. I have known of horses and a child killed after getting stuck.
  13. Didn't really achieve a good send. But squeaked through the test.
  14. Played with the torch tonight ans as I thought he was happy to run towards the torch beam . Leopuppy you would not think it was the same dog!! Goes with so much forward that don't know if he would jump a jump or just flatten it!
  15. Unfortunately kelpiechick we did have to do distance targetting to a target in another class. As in sit, wait and send to a plastic disc. Now I am doing agility I have to do nose touch targetting. So there was a conflict. Ok he works for food. But in a very wishy washy way. ie if I throw food and he can't see were it falls he will not go look for it. I would need to be throwing meaty bones to get anywhere near the level of enthusiasm that most people get. He would not even run to a treat bag. He will tug for a couple of seconds. He will not retrieve at all. If you throw a toy he might trot very slowly after it, he certainly would not jump to get it. He likes people. That is his fav thing. I have to spend most of the agility session calling him back as he goes off and kisses everyone!! He spied Leopuppy across a dark field on Monday and took off to give her a kiss!! Actually one thing he lovessss is chasing light beams from torches. Is really the only thing that gets him hyper.
  16. tollersowned he has high pack drive. So sending him away is a problem. Even when I did herding with him, he wasn't that keen on leaving me to chase the sheepies. He only leaves me to go and kiss other people!! I need to send him over the jump to pass a test!
  17. Name first. Then conditioned to 'yes', not sure if you would call that a command. Then did focus. First thing I teach is sit.
  18. Do you have a date for the next clinic?? i have been looking at the website for dates but haven't seen any for a while.
