  1. Oh my! K, that photo is so arresting. Arkie is a little stunner.
  2. Certainly not watching after those reviews. :(
  3. To be aware is the first thing and you are that Regarding the deafness, just make sure she is aware you are there before you touch her. If you have wooden floors walk heavily so the vibration will alert her to your presence. My oldest dog is Danny who is approx 16. He is going blind and deaf as well and has less sight in one eye than the other, so I always try to make sure I am on the side with better sight if I want to gain his attention. As for sleeping ----- it is what they do best LOL. As hard as it is when we recall their younger selves, we need to get used to it. Some mornings, I can hardly wake Danny up to give him his multitude of medications. I empathise as many DOLers would. The hardest thing, I think, is recognising that our dogs are getting old and many are on borrowed time. ETA a pic from this morning of my old boy
  4. I tried to send her a PM but it would go through. I sent her an email. I'll try her FB page.
  5. Her poster is being shared on Facebook. Absolutely heartbreaking, SpikesPuppy. To never know would drive me insane and I hope will all my heart that you and Casey's family do eventually either find her or find out what happened to her.
  6. Great work. Love Cupid's arrow with the dog's name on it.
  7. Your obvious love and excitement make me smile as much as the antics of those beautiful dogs.
  8. BRILLIANT Loved it, but jumped a mile high when you changed from slo-mo.  Those two dogs have the BEST times.
  9. Well done. :champagne: Here is to happy ever after.
  10. Too sad, Juice. Deepest condolences.
  11. Danny and I have been on a roller coaster for several months now, ActuallyAngela, and I hope you can find something to help you get off it. Danny is an old dog so I have had many many years of relatively uncomplicated eating. Danny does have a diagnosis though of hiatus hernia and non specific gastritis, so it has all been a bit of nightmare and worse for him, of course, feeling sick half the time. I really would suggest you try the Delicate Balance and also BM Animals. Good luck and keep us informed as to how you go.
  12. I'm glad you found some DDD. :) Thanks to Trinabean and Valbitz, I have found food that Danny will eat and not bring up on a regular basis. Valbitz put me onto BM Animals who make and supply their own food and I feed Danny little bits of their air dried chicken breast through the day. Most nights last thing (which can be between midnight and 2am for me), I will give Danny a small meal of Delicate Balance kibble which he always eats. I also make Bone Broth and make a "shake" of this with BM Animals dried foods and probiotics and give him this during the day as well. I credit Valbitz and Trinabean with saving his life, really, because until their suggestions, he wasn't keeping enough food down or even eating enough to keep a sparrow alive.
  13. If I had to chose one, I think it would be this. Just wonderful
  14. She is beautiful. So many like her owe their lives and good fortune to K9Angel.
  15. They will look just fabulous. The colours of the Australian outback are quite extraordinary.
  16. Superb photographs as always K. Out walking today and just standing while the dogs sniffed around, I noticed some ants about 1/2 inch long We walked on very hurriedly.
  17. That was just great, Yonjuro. You are so clever ---- the sound track fitted so beautifully. ETA: It was lovely seeing a nudie Ronin. That coat is stunning. What are their weights of each dog? Ronin looks to be quite solid, whereas Tigger is pretty tall. They must both be sooooooo fit.
  18. Glad everything seems okay regarding the lump. The number and different sorts of lumps dogs (and humans) can get is extraordinary  Could it be the possum poo that is causing his allergies? I found antihistamines didn't help my dog with scratching issues. I keep him on a small dose of Prednisolone, however, he is quite elderly, and I admit I would be loathe to go down that road with a young dog. Good luck.
  19. Oh, and having read your post again, remember your dog is a puppy and her attention span is very short. Don't spend 1/2 hour trying to get her to do what you want. Just stop, ignore and come back to it a little while later. For example, you don't tell a dog 20 times to sit. All it is learning is to listen for 20 times LOL.
  20. I think perhaps a bit more is going on here than whatever happened at puppy school. Perhaps talk to a trainer - get advice from someone in your area (or from DOLers) because a lot of "trainers" would have difficulty telling the back end of a dog from the front. Terrible exaggeration, of course, but from what I read and see on my countless walks, some horrors are really being visited upon people who only want to do the best for their dogs.
  21. Made me laugh. Always have a smile on my face after watching your vids and photos, Yonjuro.
  22. Depends so much on the person running these classes. Some dogs do very quickly learn bad habits. From what I have read (never experienced first hand) puppy classes are more for socialisation and getting used to other dogs, as well as starting to learn to obey orders when there are plenty of distractions around. I'd give it another go, and if barking dog is still there, leave - but tell the person taking the class why.
